There's just no way he's interested in signing, he'll want to keep his options open for next summer. No matter how much we all want to believe there is a solution, sometimes there isn't. The club isn't that incompetent that they wouldn't give him a longer contract if they could

Can someone please summarise the key points apart from Toby stuff? Or did he say nothing else of interest?

Given the variable bounce we've already seen on day one, this pitch will be tough to bat on in the fourth innings. Australia need to score big tomorrow and Friday to make the draw a possibility

They'll still get more than if they sold to us. AM get more money, we get more money, Spurs get the player

I like the idea of Les Reed flying out to Spain with a briefcase full of euros and turning up unannounced at AM HQ to break up Levy's meeting
-
Seems like Madrid are point blank refusing to speak to us, in order that Spurs can get a deal done. They'll worry about the legal ramifications with us once they've got their £12m in the bag. Whatever they have to pay us, it will be worth it to double their transfer fee

Benefits Cheats are actually Companies - Apparently.

I think they're talking about profit after salary costs. If a company is making millions in profit on top of that, they can afford to pay staff a living wage rather than spunking it all to shareholders -
Sorry to side with the hipsters but while honolulu is ok, Kauai blows it out of the water. Hanalei Bay is an absolute paradise, the best place I've been to. George Clooney's film the Descendants is worth a watch for that reason

We tend to pay around £12m for players, but the problem is I'm not sure the club have grasped that strikers are more expensive than other positions. If we want a step up from Pelle / Long we need to splash £15m to £20m imo (or find a great bargain)

I very much doubt he will sign a new contract. I'm sure the club would have given him one if the willingness to sign was there. To be honest, him leaving next summer is probably the natural time for his career progression
-
Too black and white. Clubs can still get a relatively cheap deal while giving the player and agent fat wedges of cash

How many assists did he get last season?

Saints opt not to take up right-to-buy on Eljero Elia

That performance was about more than the goals, his link up play, flicks and running were excellent. That said, he doesn't appear able to do it consistently so I'd look elsewhere -
What is the point of autographs? To be honest, I can understand why celebs get tired of being asked to sign things all the time

Britain can afford to live with high debt 'forever', says IMF "While the Fund said this was far from ideal, it was preferable to introducing 'policies to deliberately pay down the debt' because the costs were likely to outweigh the benefits." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/economics/11644471/Britain-can-afford-to-live-with-high-debt-forever-says-IMF.html

You claim it's what's best for the country and the policies have served us well but it's all about you. Look at the stats, the poorest people are suffering because of this government. That's why inner London voted Labour - we feel the lack of a fair recovery acutely and see real poverty up close

I've been most impressed by what Liz Kendall's had to say so far, but do worry that she isn't "prime ministerial" enough for the electorate

Player Integrated Stripes Strategy LMFAO

I'm as big a comedy snob as anyone and was expecting to be disappointed but that was hilarious. Good GK-ing! -
Voters punished Vince Cable for going in with the Tories by voting in...the Tories. Confusing. Will be very interesting to see the Tories implementing all their promises that they thought they wouldn't have to make because they wouldn't win a majority. Genuinely think it could destroy them after 2020 (I know, ever the optimist). Although we have to get through another 5 years of the Tories and it will be pretty horrendous for the poor, in some ways it could be blessing. I think Miliband would have become very unpopular - now Labour can rebuild with a charismatic leader and win in 2020.

There's more negative things that need to be said about the tories [emoji3]

I agree with most of this, but there's another way of looking at it. People are used to their incomes growing year on year, or at least holding steady, particularly when the economy is healthy. It's very hard to scale down a lifestyle that you're used to. What's actually happened is average wages have been stagnant as a share of GDP since the 1980s, with the proceeds of growth going to the richest. Governments have papered over this problem by making it easier to get into debt rather than addressing the real problem of inequality. Shareholder capitalism is failing people. I'm not really sure what the solution is but it's a huge issue.

That article is over the top and probably misrepresents some facts. The Mirror is a tabloid after all. But some people definitely have died needlessly due the government's cruel benefits sanctions regime

This article presents a surprisingly strong case for why the tories could do a deal with the SNP http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/may/06/government-tories-snp-conservatives-nicola-sturgeon
