Wouldn't be shocked if Spurs showed an interest. They need some more HG players. Need to get him signed on a new deal.
-
He didn't start many games in central midfield for Blackburn as Mowbray said tactically he wasn't the best. Can't see him getting any games out wide for Saints. Let him go with our best wishes and a sell on percentage.
-
If we go for him, that is also probably why we need to get it done soon. If he does well at the ACON then it might scupper it altogether.
-
We need to sign a RB, 100%. But if we are going to spend approx £50m overall, I don't know that we need to spend 20% of that on a RB when we would also need: 1 x striker, probably quite pricy 1 x attacking midfielder, probably pricy 1 x CB Thats as a minimum..

https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17667454.striker-search-is-high-on-rovers-summer-transfer-agenda/ Mad that SG is on considerably more money than any Blackburn player.
-
Only question is do we need to/will we spend €12m + on a RB? Personally think Valery's emergence puts this into doubt. We definitely need another RB, but as priorities go, more cash needs spending in other areas, so wouldn't be suprised if we got someone cheaper.

Interesting that we haven't really been linked with any CBs yet.
-
And Gallagher should be able to fetch £8-10m unless this year has reduced it. Pretty sure last summer there was chat of teams willing to pay 7 or 8m for him.
-
Indeed. Who the **** would pay £10m to sign Cedric (one year of contract then free) or Hoedt (****e)? Answer: Nobody The same as Elyounoussi whose wages will price out most of the leagues he is good enough to play in. Most saleable assets that arent first team regulars are IMO: Gallagher Reed Targett McCarthy
-
The way current prices are, Redmond is easily worth £40m plus. Probably more.
-
Yep. Would cost nearly £100m most likely.
-
Expect we will hear more on this shortly. Did we ever officially announce Glover?
-
Also known as the Moi Jahanbakhsh.

I wouldn't prefer him to Long specifically and think it would be an underwhelming signing. However Ayew is about 5 years younger tha Long (who is on big money for largely sub par perfirmances). If we are selling both Austin and Long and Ayew was signed as a backup striker than I feel he is much better suited to RH's style than Austin, and as mentioned he is younger than Long and is also well suited to a pressing game, so its not the strangest link ever given the apparently very low asking price.
-
Wouldn't be against Ayew for less than £5m but only if it were because Long (and Austin, obvs) is moving on. Otherwise, no.
-
Yes, definitely need two good ones. Makes you wonder why full backs don't work harder on their weaker foot. Think how many more games someone like Targett could have played if he wasn't so one footed! I imagine we will either go back for Maehle, or, if we feel Valery is established, might go for a cheaper option who is more clearly backup rather than competition.
-
Personally feel Valery has done more than enough to go into next season as a starter. Wonder if Maehle would be happy to compete?
-
One of our best seasons came when we signed Lovren and Wanyama early on and both were good from the first game etc. It does make a difference according to our Manager who wants to be able to adapt players to how he wants to play during the pre season (and get them fit enough for the league they will be playing in). Also, if paying a little more gets you the player versus waiting and potentially losing out then maybe it is worth doing for the ones you really want to sign in the key positions? Clearly its not always possible as you wait and see what falls into place but I imagine for some targets we know right now what it would take to get them.
-
Make that about £50m on Mepham, Solanke and Kelly since we last signed someone. They seem to overpay IMO, but if you want a player and want to get him in early on during a window, then its probably worth it to an extent. As an aside, if Kelly cost £15m then surely Adams would be north of £20m. Mad prices. Our standard £15m buys won't get anything other than a bit of potential these days.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/9102783/bristol-city-sell-lloyd-kelly-england-u21/ Saints have been linked but so have Arsenal and Liverpool. Seems like he is on the move.

In an era of marginal gains, they are absolutely dreadful. How hard is it to get kids that can move, throw and have an active pulse?

Its a football kit FFS. Will make literally zero difference to i.) enjoyment of the season ii.) performance of the team
