  1. funny how managers never appreciate that players get booked because they done something wrong as apposed to it being the ref doing something wrong for booking them. With every Cotteril interview it feels as though the relationship between him, Lumpa**** and Chinnychinchinchin as breaking down more and more. There appears to be no unity at all. Shame.
  2. I think the Premiership has a lot to answer for. You'd of had trouble getting out alive if you'd done that at Boothferry Park
  3. What I meant by that was showing a tremendous first touch, silky in posesion, a very languide style, better on the ball than off, poor tackling, workrate to find space, but maybe not quite as much when tackling back, some wonderful weighted passes and some intecepted overambitous passes. I didn't think he was a million times better than his last game for us, but I didn't think he was playing that bad when we shipped him out. Poor early on in the season, but IMO muc improved once he started passing quicker (after getting some stick from fans). I'm still not convinced he will stay, although I don't think Millwall can afford him.

I keep saying it, we need to try and get him on a five year deal, he is that good.

as has been said bythe two posters, he started on the right of three central midfielders, but when Hammond went off he moved into his position - the centre of the three central midfielders.
  6. surprised to hear Adkins on Radio Solent say that Martin was making his full debut for the club today.
  7. Adkins was desperate to rest Chamberlain so Puncheon was the natural replacement. Nothing ot do with shop windows from the clubs point of view. On Puncheons side he showed he is a professional and played his usual game.
  8. Holloway comes across as bitter and a bad loser.

    4-3-3 / diamond

agree with that. Even today at times today Philips caused us massive problems and with better players around him and more ball the formation may have been our undoing. We used it a lot in relegation season. We had a lot of ball, but the opponents would just play 4-4-2 with the fullbacks overlapping creating a 2 on 1 against our fullbacks and we got done time after time.

could do with going out on loan from time to time to get more games under his belt. That must help improve him surely?

are you talking about in general or in todays game, because he was poor today coming and totally missing two that could have cost us badly.
  12. its going to be a tough game, all away games in this league are. We're flying right now though so hopefully we can get a result.
  13. his first team players would have an extra days rest on Liverpool who may be run ragged by manure. No reason not to play them today. Perhaps when we first make it back I will appreciate his decision, but today I think he has disrespected the cup, devalued it and wasted his fans time.
  14. I was also very surprised by that. I have misjudged many of you. Well done. I am not sure if he heard the backing, especially the Puncheon song, but he certainly must have thought he might have got some stick but didn't. Back slaps all round.
  15. I understand your sentiments about wanting to go out soi we can concentrate on the league, but for some of us the FA Cup is still extremely special and would love see our side progress in it. We are also greedy. Note that there is only one cup competition this time, and we were unbeaten after FA Cup games lat season. One more thing, the Wycombe game was not rearranged due to cup games it was a scheduled midweek game. Besides the defeat had nothing to do with tiredness or injuries due to cup runs. We were outstanding the weekend before winning away at Norwich (after a tough cup game by the way) and then we scored five twice in the games after Wycombe. It was just a very bad display, nothing more nothing less. There were others during the season, also not down to cup run games.
  16. played exactly like that in the Huddersfield game until his booking when Adkins subbed him and the Exeter game. Was also playing like that right before he went away on International duty.
  17. he disrespected the FA Cup and he got exactly what he deserved. I like the bloke, but no reason why he couldn't have put out a decent side and got the performance he needed from his players during the week. I felt sorry for the excellent fans (530 mile round trip) being badly short changed by that team selection. There loss was our gain.
  18. Holloway ruined any chance of that when he advertised he was throwing in the towel earlier in the week. Even without the Stevenage win we were still not getting the plaudits on the radio on the way home.
  19. very encouraging. I wonder what made Adkins choose this formation and whether he will use it and agains who. They had no answer to it.
  20. Eddie Howe may become their manager too. Has to decide betwen Palace them and staying at Bournemouth.
  21. Yes you could. Three in the middle, with Lallana just behind the front two. At goal kicks the two strikers spread wide and Lallana pushed up to mark their two centre backs. When we had the ball Lallana foudn that space between their defence and midfield. In our midfield Puncheon was fractionally on the left, Morgan the right and Hamomond down the middle of a tight three. No one played out wide. When Hammond went of Morgan move to the central and more deep holding position, Dickson played slightly to the right. Yes they didn't stick to those sides and positions rigidly, but they were aleways the starting positions from any restart.

    it was a standing ovation.

to say he didn't put in a decent effort is wrong IMO. He gave everything in games, but fell short at times in terms of finishing and a little quality. Being crap and not trying are two different things. Personally I'm happy to see him doing well at Blackpool, the same for Brettie.

To continue this briliant winter period I'd like to hear that he has also siged 4.5 year contract. Still find it amusing there are fans that don't see what he has to offer.
  25. Burton at home.
