  1. what is it with Saints fans and wanting to speed all the songs up?
  2. especially tough to get players to agree when they all know Utaka will still be on his mega contract, whatever that really is.
  3. one company liquidated only for a another company to take on the CVA repayment agreement. Very weird.
  4. The Echo said Pardew wanted a backup for Lambert: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/8135095.Saints_keen_on_Black_Cat_Roy_/
  5. isn't it 25% of unsecured debt that is the key, rather than total debt?
  6. so HMRC reveal their masterstroke. Pay us 100% or we double what you owe us. Question. If a CVA is agreed at 20p in the pound, does that mean that HMRC by law must accept that agreement and take 20p in the pound or can they fight on till they get 100p in the pound?
  7. if we are getting someone in as backup from Rickie Lambert they are going to have to be willing to sit on the bench all season. I'd of thought that means we are looking for a big tall youngster. Why then did we let Mat Patterson go? Seems the ideal man to have had in reserve to me.
  8. has the rise from £119m to £138m come about simply because of fluctations in exchange rates or have companies actually come forward with new invoices? I wonder if additional player bonuses incurred over the last month or two have forced this figure up?
  9. if I had already lent you the grand and then was faced with either nothing or £40 a year then I might consider it.
  10. especially considering the weather.
  11. make sure the stag is somewhere that everyone can afford to get to. Three nights in Vegas is great, no actually it was better than that, but if his other best mates can't go then it defeats the purpose, which is to give him a ****ing good send off. England offers some great weekend destinations. The last one I did was in Stockholm. Jesus drinks were pricey. Don't ad lib the speach. People expect it to be top notch and funny so get practicing. Try to avoid corny jokes and stuff you can steal from the web. Its much better to paint a picture of who this guy is through the power of description and little stories that way those who don't know will feel more involved. Avoid in-jokes. If he's a moaning bastard given an example. If he is accident prone reel of a list of accidents. Avoid ex girlfriend stuff unless of course its him failing to pull with terrible chat up lines. Also no one wants to hear about him being sick, it aint funny, unless of course its over his boss or suchlike. Ask a member of his family for material about when he was a kid, always goes down well. Practice and do it in front of a female as they will know what is passable. If he's done some seriously stupid things you simple must tell the world, but tone it down so as not to make him look a complete ****. Don't worry about making it too long. Having taken the **** for most of the speach do talk him up at the end and how happy you are that he asked you to be his best man cos you think he's great etc. Give a few good points like honest, reliable, happy go lucky etc. that should help people forget what a joke he is for just enough time to get a toast in. Then they can return to thinking about how he got his **** caught in his best mates fly... Once the speach is over drink tillt he cows come home and bask in the glory or a job well done.
  12. I mentioned him a few weeks back. He was at Burton with Clough - hence the strong links to Derby, although many of their fans don't think he is better than what they already have (what would they know though).
  13. Paul Wotton football genius at Brentford made me chuckle
  14. some could be skates
  15. Sean Hughes bottom middle and Joe Jordan next to him.
  16. Orient was the best by far for me. If we grabbed the winner after being 0-2 down the roof would have come off that stand. Best atmosphere at an away game for years.
  17. For me next seasons Squad would be: Goalkeepers Davis Bialkowski Liam O'Brien Fullbacks Shaleum Logan Semi Harding Mills Centre Backs Fonte Jaidi David McKracken Tamika Mkandawire Wingers Antonio Lallana Puncheon Albert Adomah Central midfielders Hammond Morgan Stephen Dawson Liam Trotter Gobern Forwards Lambert Barnard Waigo Connelly
  18. Martin is bigger than Seaborne but far less impressive (only based on that single outing I know) if you ask me. Even with that very limited evidence I'd still go as far to say that we have no chance of promotion if we have to rely on him to play too many games next season. Season long loan is the right idea.
  19. Crouch and Jones both played in the FA cup game against the skates, also the Premiership game at St Andrews. Jones played at right midfield and was terrible. I think he also came on right at the end of the Prem game at SMS against Liverpool.
  20. lucky us.
  21. no chance Thomas will be given a new deal. Pardew has shown time after time how little he rates him. Being dropped after the Ipswich game said it all. Lancashire is out the door. No way we would have signed Martin of Pardew felt he would make it given time. Perry will also not be offered a new deal. Fonte/Jaidi/Seaborne/Martin. That's your 4 whether they are good enough is a different matter. Murty has zero chance. Semi will get a contract. Being outpaced by the skates down that flank right in front of AP willbe something that lives long in his memory. Never again are we going to be done by pace alone. Gillett is gone. Pardew doesn't trust his first touch to play in front of the back four that's why he played him at the front of a diamond no the back. Amazed he came back from Donny. Bartosz Bialkowski is an interesting one. Is he going to sit on our bench for ever? If he doesn't want to then sign O'Brien from the skates. Michael Poke's contract may depend on Barts decision. Kayne McLaggon is gone. Anthony Pulis is gone. David Connolly will get another year. He was tremendous earlier in the season. Papa Waigo. Who knows, but we should sign him. As we should Michail Antonio.
  22. you are wrong. He signed a 2.5 year contract. So we are lumbered with him for JUST???? another season I'm afraid.
  23. bit harsh. He has a decent first touch and composure on the ball. There is still time for him. He had a real mix bad display today, quite a few teribble passes for starters, but out on the right in the second half he offered decent widtch (though never making it to the byeline of course) and kept posession pretty well. But bear in mind its his first start for a long time and its not easy to find your best form straight away. Lallana was much worse today.
  24. About time we got some decent pies. Ours are terrible burnfest, no meat overpriced crap.
  25. Another very poor showing from us in the first half, but a marked improvement in the second once Waigo came on. He added a degree of quality to proceedings that helped us to create a few openings. Sadly the damage was done by then. I'm glad Pardew gave Martin, James and Connelly a chance, but we weakened the side and lost as a result. Davis 5 - not sure if he or Fonte was to blame for the goal, but bloody poor by both might be fair. Caught and punched (a couple weren't great) today but no actual saves. Semi 5 so casual its not true. One terrible bit of (ballwatching) defending in the first half was instantly recovered by his pace. Where is the determination though? He will frustrate me all next season as well, but his pace will get us out of jail as well. Kept posession pretty well. Fonte 1 Woeful. Played on the left side and he clearly didn't want to turn out onto hisleft side and because of that he got himself in a mess. Martin 5 Won some headers (he should win a lot considering the size of him) but very slow on the turn and his positional play is going to need some work. Didn't have the confidence on the ball so passed back to Kelvin when there was no need, at times I wondered if he was good enough for this level. Better teams may run rings round him. Having said that it was his debut so he will improve. Mills 7 Pretty solid and got stuck in. Not a lot of overlapping but then again we were playing 4-3-3 in the second half so maybe not wise. Lallana 1 ****e. Puncheon 7 some good stuff, some not so good. James (first half 1 second half 6) some very poor passing and was beaten all hands up by their winger showing how poor he is defensively, but he did get better as the game went on and his first touch was decent. Not nearly enough grit in the first half, but much better second. As usual he didn't get to the byeline ever. Hammond 8 Real desire all game. Gave everything. He has been very good since getting back to full fitness. For a dead rubber game you couldn't ask much more of him. Connnely 5 He had five chances and scuffed four of them badly. Three in the first half were woeful and showed his lack of sharpness. The same could be said of the 5th chance late on that he should have done so much better with. His touch did get better as the game went on (I'd of though with tiredness it would get worse???) and given two or three games he would be back to his best. Barnard 7 Gave everything as usual, challenging for every header (winning a few). I love how he runs 30 yards to make arial balls whilst the rest stand and watch. When we moved to three up front he played deep and looked lost. Work rate but is there genuine threat? Seaborne 6 we looked much tighter at the back when he came on, but they still scored from a set peice. Not sure if he was at fault though. Don't think so. Waigo 7 great first touch, and got us moving, linking the play very well. Should have shot first time with one chance and the second (even better chance) he seemed to cross when the goal was there to go for. Lambert 7 won some headers and had one great half volley blocked
