and there's me thinking the aim of this game is to win trophies. FA cup win this year or promotion. FA Cup win every time thanks.
-
so what? In the end, what are we getting promoted to do?
-
could not agree more. They pish around in the lower leagues for years having no chance whatsoever of winning the cup. Then when they finally get a half decent side together and have a realistic chance of getting to the final they treat their fans with contempt by not giving a **** about the competition. Hope we run them ragged.
-
I don't necessarily agree with that, Jaidi wins headers, the bread and butter for any centre back, and at times Seabourne's inability to dominate a striker in the air puts us on the back foot. It's not everything I know but it is very important. If you went to the Dagenham game you'd have seen a the opposition hoof it long all day and Jaidi 's strength in the air meant we were as safe as houses. Winning that arial battle gives the side a firm footing to build on. Jaidi has been imense recently and definately first choice. Seabourne needs to be much stronger before I am fully convinced.

agreed, also the term skate annoys the **** out of my skate mates -
train to Southampton central and then follow the crowd. Leave yourself at least 15 minutes to get to the ground from the station.

we've lifted him from non-league football about 5 minutes ago. Bloody hell, I should hope he is not disillusioned already.
-
He was excellent in that game and has been good in others, but that's not always the case. He needs to be nastier and win more in the air for me. Whether he will add that to his game I am not sure. Decent left foot though, and some of the "hoof" comments on here are way off the mark as he `pings' a decent cross field ball. Handy left foot as well when it comes to making clearances etc which is the sort of thing that goes totally unnoticed.
-
5 actually, in 23 games, two of them in the league cup.
-
****tu was mentioned on the HCDAJFU thread a while back.
-
I watched him in the Anglian derby and it was barn door and banjo stuff, but confidence is clearly low at Ipswich full stop. He scored 14 in a season for Watford a couple of years back, but struggled to find goals since then. He doesn't inspire me, but not seen a lot of him.
-
depends which games Micky Adams has seen him in because in some such as the Exeter game he was outstanding. In others less so obviously.
-
don't worry we will, I know that already as my mum has arranged her wedding to be on FA Cup final day.

Chamberlain to Arsenal or Liverpool £10m
Chez replied to forever a red and white's topic in The Saints
Bale yes, but when did Walcott take charge of games when playing for us? He certainly lit up a game but Chamberlain does that also. People should not under estimate the quality of this lad. He is top notch and finding a `pacey replacement' is not going to be easy. Losing him could seriously effect our rise through the divisions because he could do some serious damage in the championship next season. Tell me what winger is going to be available to us that will do that? -
and apparently Swansea have made an offer for him in recent times.
-
so what, there is no reason why we couldn't have signed Richardson and Butterfield then we'd be in the same situation as we have with our two excellent left backs. Butterfield for me lacks pace and that is a weakness in that position. He's a decent enough player who has had decent games for us (and some poor ones too) but I'd much prefer Calderon.

now you are talking. If I was Cortese I'd be trying desperately to extend the lads contract by another two years. -

been a while since a chairman could dictate a players career and it won't here either. If he wants to go he will. You can't keep a player if he wants a move. -

it hurts just thinking about him leaving as it did for Bridge, Walcott and Bale. Top top talent like this may not be seen at SMS again for a very long time indeed. We have been extremely fortunate to have seen one, never mind three (or four if you include Bridge) absolute top notch players in recent times. As good as our scouting system has been it doesn't mean it will continue to find world class talent. Personally I'd like to see him complete the full three years here and by then he will be worth a fortune and even a tribunal will guarentee us a massive wedge. Never gonna happen though. -

how old is the `shoot the pompey scum' song as I don't recall singing it in the 80s? -
note that the 15th March is a possible date not a confirmed date. How many free midweeks are there in April by the way?
-
Unfortunately he is the one player we don't have cover for in the squad unless we perhaps cup tie Puncheon. Gobern and Guly are not suited to play out there.
