I look at his face and think to myself "That's the way to do it".

Basically you are predicting that our second half of the season is as good as Brighton/Brentford/Fulham's first half. Not impossible but feels like a stretch.
-
I imagine that after yesterday's results Cody Gakpo is bitterly bitterly regretting not taking up the chance to join Saints in the summer.

Naa-ay-ay-ay-ay-ayythan Jones Nathan Jones Nathan Jones Nathan Jo-ooh-nes He's got a thiiiing, going on We thought that it was wrong But now he's much too strong To let him go now
-
Other results show we absolutely desperately needed that. Brilliant stuff
-
Well remembered. For a protest there's nothing more powerful than winning because it allows the protest to be about bigger issues/wider context rather than "we lost".

Settling for a point sounds mad to me. 13 points at the half-way point of the season is relegation. 15 points and we are properly in the mix with other teams (but still, if I'm honest, still probably relegated). We've already pissed away three games where we should have harvested points, say 5 or 6. Not zero. At some point we actually have to win some games. That point being like now.

What happened?

Ever since I found out the Bournemouth guy was in on Lorient I'd written Moffi off as ever coming to us. Just not going to happen.
-
Thanks for the recommendation - Elek absolutely unequivocal about how good he thinks Jones is. Interesting. Ultimately though, if we don't win today today it won't mean shit. You would have found people saying what a good manager Felix Magath was as well. It's got to happen on the pitch.

One simple change to the kit and a one and a half billion catchment area in the palm of our hands.

I wouldn't read much into that. Lavia will be sold as soon as the Champions League club come in. Definitely not this window but possibly next summer. We've got a stated intention of buying players in with a planned high sell-on value so don't start kidding yourself that those players aren't going to be sold. They definitely definitely will be.
-
Nice to see that five years ago you were writing out the same shit as you are today. The post above was accusing Lord Duckhunter of being in his first season of supporting Saints. Strange absence on this forum for the entire reigns of Hughes and Ralph though. I can only assume Parkhurst.

Southampton 0-1 Newcastle League Cup Semi Final 1st Leg
CB Fry replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Newcastle will be under different pressure, especially with a winnable semi in front of them. Over two legs it will be difficult but I always think Southampton away is a bit of a bogey tie for them so we really need to make the home tie count. No one would have expected us and Puel to beat Liverpool back then either. -
Called it.

Absolutely superb lads.

What is this feeling?
-
I'm only watching it to see who we are going to sign next summer.
-
I think he means that a 3-0 defeat will wash over and be forgotten about but 8 or 9 won't. I imagine Man City can't be arsed to win 8 nil though.
-
Should be a routine win.
-
Not worth worrying about. Any contract he signs now will not stop him going to a big club if they want him so it hardly matters. When we go down he's gone even if he signs a 25 year contract tomorrow.

Ralph had managed in the Champions League and took a team to 2nd in one of Europe's greatest football leagues, and also had experience of fighting relegation with a smaller club in that same league. So he had buckets of credibility. He was an exciting appointment the fanbase were united behind. He also hit the ground running with some early wins. Something which now is apparently completely unreasonable to expect anyone to achieve as an incoming boss mid season. No one in the fanbase wanted this guy from day one. And he has done the opposite of hitting the ground running.

Harry needs four people to die now, not one. William, George, Charlotte and Louis. If you can describe that as "hope". This is thing, he's not even the "spare" anymore.
-
What revisionism? Saying we are now worse under Jones isn't saying Ralph was good, it's saying we are worse now. I love how the idea of expecting some kind of new manager bounce (as we got from Hughes and Ralph himself) when we were already rock bottom is now some kind of unreasonable unrealistic expectation that it is outrageous for people to have.
