  1. We seem to be in control but I just can't see us getting over the line. Absolute agony. Come on boys.
  2. Great header Maguire. So good he was in the squad.
  3. Well, that will do for now. We should still have enough to beat them. But you can see how they can beat us.
  4. We are still turning throw ins level with their penalty area into passes back to Pickford. Frustrating.
  5. Pickford has finally dropped his first bollock.
  6. Very srong start. No nerves on show.
  7. I was getting anxious that no one had posted a "I'm getting anxious" post until now. We're penny pinching, we're dithering, we're going get caught with our pants down, we've been caught napping, why can't we just get this over the line, we're only putting this in the media to shift season tickets,
  8. Not really. There are a million different messages and a million different tweets they could have sent. And the option not say anything at all also exists. You make it sound like that message was the only option they had and how dare anyone question it.
  9. I bet Grealish has been in that eye-gym all afternoon. #marginalgains
  10. A club in England wishing a player for our opponents to do well on the day of a massive game is absolutely stupid. It's not an internal email wishing a colleague well, its a public announcement. Really dopey from the club. It's pretty obvious when you think about it.

I've been hearing that a world leader is about to come forward and reveal all the details of how the world's governments have got together to agree to poison the entire human race with death injections. Going to be absolutely massive and I salute the President of Haiti for being brave enough to come forward and tell the world the truth. Good for him. I think he's going to do the announcement sometime today.
  12. Its not arrogant or presumptuous to think we should win tonight - as people have said player-for-player we are significantly ahead. But obviously it does not work like that and a sending off or an early goal or a complete fuck up and we're out. The difference this time is in previous disasters it has quite often been a lack of coherence or a mental weakness that does us in. Right now I can't see either being an issue. Vestergaard do your thing: marshal the defence of a team that usually loses football matches. He's, like, so good at that.

This reads like a computer generated response from a Russian bot farm. Still, CollinsDic, what do you make of Romain Perraud?
  14. Not so sure: They've made it all the way to the final without once needing to bring on Manolo Gabbiadini.
  15. Can't see us beating Italy but will be nice to get to a final.
  16. Second one absolute dogshit.
  17. First one absolute dogshit
  18. Two teams traditionally terrible at shoot outs.
  19. Liquid football.

    Danny Ings

Just listened to the Blackmore thing on BBC Sounds (about twenty minutes into the Solent Sport prog that started at 6pm) He said the story is true, he wants to go but lots of "lovely lad" stuff about how he's willing to stay, no issues with the club. Yeah, yeah. Blackmore saying no club has registered any interest yet. Lots of speculation the he might change his mind and sign at the last minute if no one comes in. Don't really see it myself. Lots of "he won't go to the likes of Villa", he doesn't want a sideways move. Blackmore thinjs Vestergaard more likely to go before Ings.
  21. But it can also be what no one is willing to pay. Because JWP isn't for sale and he has a long contract. So we can just sit tight and refuse any offer from anyone with an offer they are "willing to pay" because it's not our valuation. But yes it is a pointless discussion.
  22. Not quite. He's not for sale and he's on a long contract so he can be worth what we say he is worth. For now.
  23. There's only one thing worse than taking Soggy to task about things I disagree with him about, and that's taking him to task in things I do agree with him about. Not sure how he has to make everything an embarrassment. Give up, man. Not every vote counts on PR, but a heck of a lot more do count. It's a fairer, more representative system which gives a better voice to more voters and would likely improve engagement. Proportional systems are already in use in the UK and good thing too. Not sure what this particular debate is achieving though.
  24. Massive boost to their shirt sales in Zambia. Another missed opportunity 😪
  25. It's not about how good he is compared to Grealish its more to do with the length of his contract. £20m would buy you an upcoming midfielder who's had one stand out season in the Championship or the French League. It would get you something like Hojbjerg at the point we got him 5 years ago. Saints are not going to sell JWP for less than £40m but I agree as above that we'd push for £50m. JWP is as close as you'd get to a risk-free signing for a club like Villa (or Everton etc) plus he's English and so on. At the end of the day my belief is he's worth too much to us than any club would be prepared to pay. A bit like Ings last year - his contract was too long for anyone to splash out £50m for him.
