HAS EVERYONE FORGOTTEN THE LAST TIME WE PLAYED IN LIVERPOOL IN THE LEAGUE CUP FFS

Except signing Mane wasn't particularly ambitious, he was just an excellent player. Ditto Virgil. Your fundamental point that we beat off major clubs to sign them is just horsesh it. We didn't, they were completely unproven at that elite level. Elyounoussi from a player spec/history/status/potential perspective is no less ambitious than Mane. Ditto Vestergaard vs Virgil or Lovren. We've signed two twenty million pound strikers in two consecutive windows. That's pretty ambitious. We've signed a keeper for £13m when we've already got one on something like £100k a week. We had a bench full of £15/16/18m players last season. You're confusing ambition with success in retrospect. Leicester's transfer activity the summer Ranieri joined was utterly uninspiring and completely unambitious. We haven't signed another Mane but then not many other clubs like us have or will. Get over it.

You need to blather about spurious transfer rumours from 2013/14/15 to make the point that Mane, Virgil and Wanyama are better than our current players? Fu ck me you are special.
-
So what point were you actually making in that original post then?

LOL okay then. Meanwhile here's Arsenal being linked with Elyounoussi https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/5759369/arsenal-eyeing-up-basel-ace-mohamed-elyounoussi/ And Everton linked with Armstrong. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/royalbluemersey.sbnation.com/platform/amp/2017/8/17/16160692/everton-transfer-rumours-news-stuart-armstrong-celtic-west-brom-southampton And Everton linked with Vestergaard. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/everton-news-transfers-live-lookman-14831095 And Arsenal linked with Vestergaard. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.skysports.com/amp/football/news/11670/11199942/arsenal-transfer-news-and-rumours-theo-walcott-and-jannik-vestergaard

The only competition I can recall for Virgil at the time was Sunderland. Mane's signing was out of the blue on deadline day with very few rumours beforehand of him coming to us or anyone else. Victor, personally can't remember him being linked to anyone bigger than us. Just a mid-table club signing a Celtic player. Big clubs sign very few Celtic players.

Brighton beat Manchester United. We beat Brighton. Say no more.

YES YES YES YES YES

They'll probably favour the WHU one.
-
Just showed the Austin chance on SSN. Pathetic.

Hands down, my favourite Bake Off contestant is Ruby.
-
Well, no. They're not.
-
Doesn't feel like a coherent strategy, does it. He's not the greatest but we need willing runners to be part of our futile attempt to stay up, so I'd like him to stay.
-
Alan Nixon this morning saying we are open to a loan move for Shane Long.
-
There's nothing true about it, either.
-
This. We've got exactly the same tombola team selections we've had with the previous managers. Massively disappointed with Hughes. I think we've got him at the arse-end of his Prem career and he's lost it.
-
It is a bit early but the signs are not good.
-
We finished seventh, sixth and eighth since then you utter bellend.
-
Well, at least we have the Pompey derby to look forward to next season.
-
Feels like a relegation season already.
-
We are never ever ever ever going to score.
-
Obviously the Daily Mail don't want Corbyn anywhere near the levers of power and will continue to pound him until they think that threat has passed. And who can blame them? Corbyn is a monumental bellend.

I still feel ashamed how these were treated by the fans

Luckily for them, Gary Rowett will turn it around. He's definitely a footballing genius and not just flavour of the month that our resident forum experts latched on to during the summer. Let's see if those forum experts drooling about how wonderful he was over the summer are still sticking to that in a few months time.
