  1. He's a well connected journalist who knows stuff but obviously he's wrong about this one because Puel is only sitting down with Les on Monday to talk about strikers so this couldn't possibly have happened.
  2. Insults against other posters. How horrible.
  3. You think the management of the club haven't spoken about signing a striker and will only start that on Monday. Carry on being baffled.
  4. What are you baffled about then?
  5. As I've said above, if that's your hysterical take on it, fine. We will have targets, we will be monitoring them, we'll try and get one over the line. Like every Jan window for every club, the huge majority of deals get done in the last week. If you really want to believe that Puel, about two hours ago, suddenly went "Oh, I know, I've had an idea, why don't we think about maybe signing a striker" then crack on.
  6. If you really believe that, gawd help you.
  7. Not that baffling. We need a striker.
  8. This time last year Newcastle were second bottom, 18 points and four wins all season. Your comparison is hysterical gibberish. We're not going down. If we were in Sunderland's position right now, would you be telling us how we'd be improving and we'll beat teams seven or eight points ahead of us now and stay up? I somehow doubt it. 24 points, we will not be relegated.
  9. We could carry that form on for the rest of the season and still not go down - 4 points in the last six, carry that on over the next 17 games and we'd be around 35/36 points, meaning only a slight upturn in form in the next five months and we're definitely safe. Four wins from 17 and we'd be safe. We are more than capable of that. We won't be going down and it's not arrogant to think that.
  10. I'll start the Yoshida red card sweepstake. 67th minute.
  11. Sober statistical analysis of a number of matches in a two month period compared with the same number of matches in a one month period. I have to say, that's almost flawless. 9/10.
  12. Indeed. He could sign for Chelsea without needing to move. And if he does end up up north then I think she can get used to Cheshire just like she got used to Glasgow (presumably, no idea how long they have been together).
  13. We're not going to be close to relegation, we're not going to be relegated this season.
  14. Eh? Football in Brazil started at around the same time as League football in England was getting going. It's not like there had been 80 odd years of world cup tournaments and decades of established football traditions and culture before Brazil suddenly joined in. Other than that, great comparison.
  15. I need to see a more robust and statistically significant analysis of whether or not we are, to a greater or lesser extent, (versus the appropriate and comparable cohort) getting it in the mixer and then feeding off the scraps.
  16. Is he already injured or at least very injury prone?
  17. Disappointing time with England but was outstanding at Watford and Villa. I always liked him on the radio particularly, a fine co-commentator. A real shame.
  18. Pretty much the best signing by anyone last January was Charlie Austin, so we need to pull a similar trick again.
  19. I'd like to think we have our replacement lined up and we are desperate to flog him to get it over with. I think he's going to end up at Palace or WHU.
  20. Burnley fans will expect Jay to score. So let's not let them down.
  21. It's the hope that kills you. A very good performance but this is now a tie jam-packed with if-onlys. Let's hope we don't live to regret those missed chances. One clean sheet from Wembley.
  22. "You have been loaned out. You have a meeting with Eric Black in the morning."
  23. What. The. ****.
  24. Shane Long coming on so that means goals goals goals.
  25. He's written "Tap up Bertrand" on that piece of paper.
