Senior, established goalies are pretty unique. Don't go all Wes Tender on me, expanding out specific points to mile - wide generalisations. Always amusing when players get linked away from us that the "but he wouldn't get game time there: eg Lallana is going to sit on the Liverpool bench" is the reason given for him being better off staying at Saints, inferring that playing regularly is the thing. Yes, I am aware of that. My point is Koeman could have intervened and demanded he stay, like we are with Morgan. He's a kid with 20 games to his name, he couldn't really kick off like Lovren did. We could, if we really wanted to, have kept him. Basically for the money we got, it looks like we thought it wasn't worth the fight, and I like to think Koeman led this thinking.
