  1. You're the one who brought up a completely irrelevant comparison.
  2. You really do think you're hilarious, don't you?
  3. It worked out that we paid a million quid for him three years before, not nine million.
  4. Good point Bear. Teams in stripes winning stuff was only really acceptable in the seventies, like bell bottoms, platform shoes, Frey Bentos pies and child abuse.
  5. He's probably rifling through the fridge. Or cracking open another six pack of Snickers bars.
  6. Laughable. If that was Morgan, the exact same story, the exact same quotes, the exact same everything you would take that as "he's putting himself in the shop window, he's off". The forum would be in its usual meltdown.
  7. Does it? We beat the 14th place we achieved in year one of revolutionary plain red plenty of times in stripes. And we matched 8th place in stripes.
  8. Isn't dropping all those points absolute proof of the opposite?
  9. Fine. Only ever buy players who will definitely be good. It's a great policy, I grant you.
  10. The usual rambling rag bag of half thought through ideas and desperate yoking together of completely unconnected points. Typical Drunko drivel. Not sure anyone, anywhere, at any point is stopping football fans having aspirations or dreams. No one is saying that having a positive attitude, spirit and belief is a bad thing. No one has ever said this. So who is any of that aimed at? And if having "a positive, spirit and belief that we can better" is so jolly important then why don't you put that into practice right now instead of grizzling about everything you tedious moaning c×+t?
  11. I'm saying the resources required to turn us into a CL team was not there and never there.
  12. I like it but I think the club have made a massive misjudgement. We have now completely alienated the millions of SFC followers in China and across the far east who only became Saints fans because we had a plain red kit. How are we going to make up the shortfall in revenue now we have walked away from this? Clearly commercial suicide from our current leadership who lack the vision what the previous bloke had and stuff.
  13. We were nowhere near it. We finished eighth, miles behind seventh let alone anything higher. It was never, ever going to happen. Cortese's vision was so utterly sight sighted that he couldn't even foresee a need to align his key stakeholder. Pie in the sky.
  14. Can you tell us the names of all these CL level players that have attracted £20m plus bids this summer that their parent clubs have turned down? Obviously, there's loads ain't there?
  15. But we do know it was unrealistic.
  16. Has Alpine made some "well we've got our precious stripes back" sarky remark yet?
  17. Shaw and Lallana were on long contracts, one of the reasons we secured such significant fees. Liverpool don't see us as rivals. Just a fantasy in your little head.
  18. What a performance that was. Actually thought we were going to be the surprise package of the division that weekend.
  19. If that picture had a kit with the sponsor on it, then I'd be really worried. At worst, possibly a training kit. Definitely a thing about yellow this season, though.
  20. Looks to me like the kind of kit a modern forward thinking revolutionary football team would wear. And yellow on sleeves is lucky in China or something.
  21. Not really hindsight to say we were never going to finish top four last season, we obviously weren't going to. And we are financially constrained (in a top four sense). Otherwise we would be signing players for £20m odd and giving Shaw and Lallana six figure weekly wages, not selling them. Not really "guessing" is it?
  22. 100% right. He was clever to get himself out when he did. I doubt he truly believed he would get the backing to truly crack the top four, so he scarpered before the going got really tough. And yes, let's never forget his 100% record on big club player bids. Sold to the professorial Frenchman at the back.
  23. Just nonsense. The idea that Shaw and Lallana would turn their backs on MUFC and Liverpool and six figure weekly salaries just for the joy of spending more time in the company of a short arsed Italian chairman is beyond credibility. There might have been a bit more Lowe style "North West Yobbos" verbals through the media but the net result - Shaw sold, and Lallana sold - would be the same. The only one that I think would be different would be Lambert as I would think Cortese would try and bring other clubs into play like WHU that RL wouldn't want to sign for. Meaning Lambo might still be here seeing out his contract but massively effed off. Or, of course, he'd already be at West Ham from January.
  24. The Champions League.
