  1. "We desperately want you to stay" sayeth the PM apparently in the Daily Mail in the morning. Interesting choice of words. Dear me, they have ballsed this right up.
  2. I think we should hope he plays really well for us, we finish eighth and win a cup.
  3. That's one of the many things that I think Salmond has covered off with his catch-all "don't worry, everything will be exactly the same" routine.
  4. The No campaign need Salmond to keep acting like that. Give him a Kinnock moment where he is caught celebrating before the event.

    SUI vs ENG

The thing about Bletch's stuff was it was nicely observed, and funny.

I've destroyed your relentless pie eyed garbage every freaking week on this forum for five years or more. Never stopped you coming back, has it choccy?

    Stop arguing with Alpine's son.

    SUI vs ENG

I think my post is pretty self explanatory. We have won the hardest fixture in the group. We will do enough to finish second easily, we will probably win the group.

Not really. We will walk this group.
  10. At the point of decision I can see why he decided on forcing Salmond into the apparent corner of a straight Yes/No and no devo max third way. That way would have been a dull campaign for sure but Cameron would still be the loser, just earlier. He would have slaughtered for a cheap concession Would have kept the union though. So yes/no was the right call. It's the campaign that they have totally ballsed up. When Alistair Darling is the best you have then you're in trouble - he's a decent politian, more likeable than some but nowhere near dynamic enough to sell the union. It's not easy, because the other team have a simpler articulation of hopes and dreams and fluffy futures to reel off, but it was possible to do a better job than they have.
  11. For someone so anti- this thread even existing you ain't half going on about it.
  12. It's not the Lib Dems who will bring Cameron down on this issue - they will respect the result and the process etc etc etc - it's the Tory party. Knives Out, as the happening pop group Radiohead might say. Edit: sorry I see you have already assumed a Cameron exit. Could be an early poll if it happens quickly. It won't be allowed to limp along, I'd say.
  13. A yes vote is going to stir up some real sh it. Will be an absolutely fascinating time in our history. I can see a significant push - UKIP/Daily Mail will start it but I think they, for once, will have a point - for some kind of referendum in England/rest of UK on the currency union and all the other constitutional stuff non one has really thought about because they thought No was nailed on (fair play, I did). There will be a sizeable cross-party feeling that the Scots can't just decide the future of the union alone. The rest need a say too. And whatever option on the ballot paper is close enough to "suck my balls Salmond" will win by a landslide. Cuba-style currency here you come. And Cameron will go down in history. His was looking like a pretty unspectacular premiership but blimey he's carving himself a right chapter now.
  14. It's me who is the angry one, right?
  15. Why complain about "Man City announcing" stuff in the media then?
  16. Okay, what was the fuss about with Vlaar you say. Fine. So what have Manchester City actually done that you are upset about with JR? I can give you actual quotes from Koeman about Vlaar. What have you got from City then?
  17. Fair enough quotes from Morgan, pretty pointless pretending he didn't want to leave. He'll get on with it and we move on. Someone here commented that they think Koeman had a word and said to him: "give me one more season and I'll get you to (say) Barca. Don't p iss it away going to Tottenham". I like that idea a lot. Lets hope that works out for all of us: we all win.
  18. Who was that manager spouting off about how much he'd like that Aston Villa defender in his team? And can you show me where MCFC have "announced" they want Jay Rod? Presumably this is a statement on their official website or something.
  19. Those announcements mean Salmon has pretty much won either way, now. He's battered the No campaign into conceding the kind of "Devo-max" stuff Salmon wanted as a voting option in the referendum in the first place. Although fair to say the No campaign has been woeful and has made it too easy for him.
  20. It's not a "defence", I'm not angry at anything. The post this morning was a little deconstruction of you pleading for empathy for over reacting on the summer when all it needed was for you to show empathy to those running the club at the time. Would have saved the overreaction. Just what I thought was a cute observation. How you see any anger in that lawd only knows. But if it is a new schtick to try and beat me with, crack on. I'll file it next to the stuff about me being a huge fan of Tony Pulis. I dish it out, so more than happy to take it if it is amusing. It being true is barely a concern.
  21. No, and yes.
  22. The intent is mainly to wind up people demanding empathy for people who spent the summer being angry at a fire sale that didn't happen and was never happening. Job done.
  23. It didn't make me angry in the slightest.
  24. Flipping long old post that. Weird simultaneous demands for empathy while also using the trademark Alpine "well, its easy with hindsight" get-out. I think one can and did have empathy with knee jerk "it's a fire sale" lunatics. It's fine. We understood you. You were wrong that's all. And plenty on here were right. Not "with hindsight" but with foresight. At the time. Maybe those people who were right at the time showed a little bit of the "empathy" you're demanding for yourself with the people running the club? Clever stuff, dat empathy.
  25. My favourite was "Ralph says Morgan will still be here on Sept 1st but all that REALLY means he will sell him on that day and he won't be here on Sept 2nd. Aren't I so jolly clever to see through that lie." Utter, utter, utter cretins.
