  1. Because Liverpool want to sign him?
  2. And that post is utter bulls hit. If you seriously believe Lovren was turning down significantly more money or significantly bigger clubs to buy into our "vision" then you're a fool.
  3. The main reason they all want to leave is the fact that some huge clubs want individual players. Lallana isn't agitating for a move to West Brom. Lovren won't go on strike to force through a move to Swansea. It's entirely a result of having four or five players that are probably good enough to play in a top 4 squad. Pretending it is all some disillusionment with our "plan" is just nonsense.
  4. I've read his Wikipedia page and I am in. Get this deal done, Les, FFS.
  5. Quite. And he stayed not through selfless "loyalty" but because he simply didn't fancy moving anywhere when each opportunity arose. Le Tiss did what he wanted to do, just like Lallana and Shaw are doing now.
  6. He jumped. That's all that matters. For all the bed wetting about others leaving lets just remember who scarpered first.
  7. Yes, it is. 120k a week to play CL and/or at one of world's biggest football clubs or stay here with my scouse friend who is 10-14 years older than me. ONE MORE YEAR WITH RICKIE IT IS!!! YAY.
  8. An ambition to win cups, get into Europe and be consistent mid table is not "survival". An ambition to be a Champions League club, on the other hand, is borderline retarded. The "next step up" from finishing 8th is not, say, finishing fifth, but simply finishing eighth again - that has been a task beyond plenty of clubs in recent years, and right now is a stretching enough ambition for us to go for. Plus, of course, a cup final or win.
  9. Except we're not just bending over, are we - highest fee ever for a teenager the Shaw deal is being described as, and the Lallana fee is a good one as well. And we clearly didn't just snatch at the first offer. Lastly, if they are going then let's get them gone. I'd like to see the meltdown on here if we sold the lot of them on August 30th.
  10. This. Just staggering how so many people are acting surprised at this. It was obvious last season when people like me were begging for us to really go for the cups and Europe and others on here were full of how we weren't ready and how we would "build" for that, and how not ready for Europe we were, and how the team needed more seasons. Just deluded and was never going to happen. As soon as a club like us gets close to the sun it does not mean the next season they will get even closer/smash the glass ceiling etc. It means the stars and/or manager gets picked off. Maybe next time people will understand the time to go for glory is the season you are in, instead of pipedreaming for some "when we're really ready" time over the rainbow.
  11. LOL. Nicola Cortese who quit on SFC as the hero stopping other people quitting on SFC. Okay then.
  12. You think Lallana and Shaw wouldn't want to join CL standard clubs for £100k a week if they could just have another season playing mid table football with a manager they'd known for eighteen whole months? And, spookily, neither of those players seem to want to hold out for a move to Spurs to play with their hero. Funny dat. Deluded.
  13. If only we'd "communicated properly" Luke Shaw wouldn't have even thought about wanting to go to Man United for one hundred plus grand a week.
  14. He was being a "realist" as usual. His grasp of reality is pretty astonishing.
  15. So was my "comparison" wrong or not, then, being that you are now basically doing exactly the same joke? With far less panache of course, but we knew that anyway.
  16. The "comparison" police are going to be right up your arse now, TDD.
  17. To be fair, I think his son did that one.
  18. Dear me. In your flailing desperation to land one on me you are now taking the exact standpoint of the people only a handful of posts ago you were dismissing as "getting their knickers in a twist". There, there Strawlock. Only Southampton FC ever contribute to a players development. Just us. I mean, Danny might as well spent the last three years in traction, or a coma, for all the good they've done him. Jesus. Thinking about it I effing hate Burnley now. They've, like, ruined Danny Ings. PS. I didn't make any "comparison" - just you wetting your pants. What I done was a joke I done.
  19. The clue is in the post. "Liverpool" (wee bit bigger than us) and "Almost won the league" (because they are, like, Liverpool). And this "bigger, richer club" was....Arsenal. Yeah. About the same difference as us and Man U, then.
  20. You seem to be LOLing at something neither funny nor making any sense. Playing an absolute blinder. Anyway, let's remember I made a little quip earlier and my word you're upset about it. For that I am truly sorry. Welcome to Burnley's Danny Ings from Burnley FC if you're coming. What a great player for Burnley he has been at Burnley.
  21. Alpine is a hateful, trolling miserable waste of skin. Quite a lot of skin, apparently.
  22. He never was. Thank god you're here, Strawlock.
  23. There is nothing we can do because those players are human beings with the right to make their own choices. Forcing players to stay - the pub idiots' solution of "let em rot in the farking reserves" or "just say farking tell everyone to fark orf" is not how business or sport works in the western world in 2014. They want to play for bigger clubs for more money. Good luck to em. We've done as well as we can with the cash in. So, how do you propose "we" go about not "accepting" this, or not being "complicit" in it? Keep it brief.
  24. Luke Shaw: 60 appearances. In other news, Danny Ings is 21 years old. Shame on him not to be up at Neville Southall level appearances by now.
