Parochial stripes, dear me.
-
Never knowingly not swivel - eyed.
-
I think that deserves a Whoosh.

I think there was an interview with Jay Rod who talked about the time Cortese told the first team he'd thrown some old books in a skip. So motivated by this they then went on to smash four past Hull. Let's hope RK throws more old stuff in a bin next season, as it is so clearly linked with success on the pitch.

Not great but easily better than our last two fabric abortions. And far better than the Bayer Leverkusen one.
-
Quite an odd wish, but fill your boots. I fully expect us to be challenging for fourth place because some Italian said we would on Sky Sports. Or there will be hell to pay, I can tell ya.
-
I've said my piece to the gullible old soak, so I won't carry on. The opening post was great to read. We're a club with soul, and loads to be proud of. What will be will be, and if we are hovering around tenth or eleventh (the shame of it) next season I won't be weeping into my beer like some of the delusionals on here.
-
For as long as people churn out guff about how no players or the manager would ever leave if the Italian was still here, then I'll keep reminding people. He was first out the door, so how the hell he is the poster boy for keeping people at SMS when he couldn't get out quick enough is beyond me.

I'm the one with 'ingrained prejudices' says the man who has decided that RK stands for nothing but mediocrity for no other reason than he is not Nicola Cortese. Right you are then. And the man with the ingrained prejudice that Cortese's proclamations were "ambition" when they were nothing more than aimless posturing and media sound - biting. You want to believe that junk, fine. Cortese didn't believe in it enough to stick around to deliver on it. Ran for the effing hills before he ever had to face into a tough, tough summer. Such determination and drive. Almost like it was all total bulls hi t, Franko, ain't it? Keep believing it you utter mug.
-
Not bowled over by platitudes he says. But absolutely lapped up the pie in the sky Daily Mail friendly nonsense the Italian came out with. Some of us remember you go weak at the knees over the Italian's "ask not if...but how" platitudes, Franko. Hook, line, sinker. And we're is this oh - so - determined driven "bastard" now? The drive and determination to see it through against the odds? Or did he walk out in January? No points for TRYING to answer that.
-
Amen.

Sounds good FF. I would be amazed if stripes couldn't be back for August. Surely the lead times on this stuff isn't that tight, especially considering how late it was left last season. .

"The team achieved, without ego" Ralph says. Bit harsh. He was there until January.

Am i the only one who thinks the club badge is naff?
CB Fry replied to OldNick's topic in The Saints
Just had a look and I see Palace did consult their fans with options through the design process, which feels like the way to go. Our previous business mastermind may not have gone for that, but I am sure the new team would do. -

I am sure we could change it for a better design, Crystal Palace have done an excellent job with their new crest. Just don't make it a fan - designed effort. -
The same last year when Cortese tendered his resignation?
-
Liverpool Football Club has the advantage of being Liverpool Football Club in the first place. And Suarez got a massive pay rise to stay. And, unless I've missed it, I don't think we've sold anyone yet, have we?
-
Myth - making nonsense. He resigned, that's a fact, and that is walking out. The 'mediocrity plan' is just something in your head. If Lallana gets offered more than £100k a week to play for one of the biggest clubs in world football and he wants to go, then all the "non-mediocrity plans" in the world is not going to keep him here. Cortese scarpered before he had to face into any of this sh it. The football equivalent of Kurt Cobain in killing himself. All what-might-have-been myth, no responsibility to ever do any of it.
-
Let's just remember who the first person to walk out of the "project" was, before people start trying to denigrate the current management set up. So determined and focused on taking his beloved Saints into the Champions League he quit halfway through our second Prem season. Any player that goes in the summer will be doing nothing more than walking in the tiny footsteps of the first one to leave.

Humbug. -
Pretty perfect career really. Achieved everything you could hope to in his first six or seven years, and then spent the best part of a decade absolutely hauling it in from various employers for doing essentially no work while at the same time ploughing some sort from a girl band. Total legend.

I think registered users should be renamed "Freedom Fighters" in recognition of their struggle. Those guys are heroes.

The funniest thing is you think I have "missed the point" of your oh - so - grand protest movement, the centre piece of which seems to be you withholding five whole English pounds for the basic running costs of a Web forum. And then encouraging a few others to do the same. Amazing. Gotta tell ya, Wesbo, it's up there with the black power salute at the 1968 Olympics, it really is. You go, girl.
