  1. If there is one thing we have learnt from this forum this season it is the utter futile meaninglessness of the phrase "realistic target". As the above gibberish demonstrates it means nothing apart from vague notion that we might win every game from now on, we probably won't and anyway I never said we would finish there and anyway finishing lower is fine and I never said it wasn't but anyone who says that target is a wrong is a wrist slitter even though I don't actually think we can actually achieve that target even though we might or not or something. And anyway, how was I supposed to know we would ever lose again after we'd won that game the other week after all I am not some kind of fortune teller. All it was just a realistic target or something and how dare you mock it when I don't even know or think we can hit it. Or not.
  2. Not sure if 35 defines me as an old bustard or not. You tell me!
  3. We had plenty in the nineties/2000s in seasons under Ball/Dave Jones/Hoddle/Gray/Strachan/Sturrock.
  4. How's that ten quid you put on West Ham being relegated getting on? For desperation to be "proved right" against someone on the internet you have never met, I think its you that you definitely deserve a big ******* medal.
  5. We don't need to be "the messiahs of football" to stay up. We'll stay up and not be messiahs. How about that? And we will stay up, and you are wrong.
  6. Well, they have been working very hard on the training ground.
  7. Christ. Lets not ever catch you discussing anything ever that has happened in the history of football before ten to eight on 4th May then. All pointless. You can't change it.
  8. You not "giving one" doesn't make a blind bit of difference either. Doesn't make the discussion pointless, though.
  9. A thread wondering whether our change of manager has improved/not improved our form is a "pointless argument" on that clubs forum? Really? What wouldn't be a "pointless argument", pray tell?
  10. I bet you do. Funnily enough MP was fortunate enough to inherit a team that had found its feet in the league and was getting great results and performing well. NA at the start of the Prem season had to do that leg work. Last 14/First 14 is far fairer as the team is more similar over those games. Lastly, one could easily argue, as Adkins influence diminishes over the weeks, the team is getting worse. We've scored one goal in five games.
  11. This. 100000% this. Bale has just scored, which will get the bellends going. We are safe.
  12. Leicester. Down the road for me. And I know a few Leicester fans. And I like dear old Nigel.
  13. ...we've got Guly. It'll be fine.
  14. There have been significant barren periods of Saints youth development, with Bridge and Oakley the only players of note for a decade or so back in the 90s. But lets gloss over that in our "balanced assessment", eh?
  15. Its got grey pinstripes too. Neither of those things makes our current kit a red and white kit.
  16. Let's remember these are some complementary quotes from an opposition manager about us. But what the dins on here have honed in on is the fact he has dared to mention another club's academy in the same breath as us. Thankfully we have forum experts on hand who know the inner workings of WHU to tell us without question that Super Saints are much better than them. After all, multiple League title winning England internationals like Joe Cole, Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand are not fit to lace the boots of European Footballer of the Decade Alex Oxlade Chamberlain.
  17. When did I say we were a small club? All I actually said is another club on earth is allowed to have a heritage of developing young players. The fact that you see that as "belittling" sums you up. It's not belittling to note that another club is capable of producing young players. The world does not revolve around the SuperduperSaints.
  18. Alpine spends every day between England matches ranting about "I hope we don't qualify" until such point as we drop a point in a qualifying match when he goes apesh it because it then means we might not qualify. Total mug.
  19. Not that odd as they have a long history of producing excellent young players. With loads of players that have gone on and actually achieved something. The SuperSaintsDoEverythingBest myopia is the only odd thing here.
  20. Joe Cole has achieved more than, say, off the top of my head, Theo Walcott or Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain.
  21. Maybe you should do it, with your "Saints are going to lose every game and go down" cutting edge thinking. You're just so radical and in touch with the modern game, you are.
  22. Fascinating, although we haven't had a red and white kit this season have we? You have seen it, right?
  23. Oh Dalek. What a card you are. Your little skits get funnier and funnier. This forum would be a much poorer place without your ham-fisted one-joke routines, that's for sure. Do the yo-yo stuff again!
  24. I'm a bit younger than you so I was more of an Askham man. That brilliant young team he put together in the 88 - 90 was the reason I became a Saints fan. The Askham Attack they were known as in Bellemoor school. Le Tissier was the main player. I forget the rest of them, but that was a Chairman on top of his game. I know it went sour after that but what memories we have of that early chairmanship.
  25. I'd just about settle for that this season. But I wouldn't want too many seasons like that. Completely underwhelming.
