  1. Saints v Liverhampton: I am looking forward to this one, which should be a cracking game between two good sides. Since Liverpool's 3-0 defeat by Manchester United in December, in a game where they had enough chances to win comfortably themselves, things have really come together for them and their attack has enough pace to cause anyone problems. This is a real test for them, though, because I think Saints boss Ronald Koeman can use this game as a way of getting his side's focus back. They have been a little inconsistent recently. Part of that has been down to the goals drying up for Graziano Pelle, but they remain a very dangerous side. I fancy Saints to edge it, which would be a big boost to their hopes of making the top four and a big blow to Liverpool. Lawro's prediction: 2-1
  2. Perfect. I have alerted my mates from my old firm of insolvency practitioners in Sydney, they could use the extra work
  3. Spot on.
  4. At least he admits that the way he left was wrong. Frankly I thought that he was in la la land and had no idea but on this point at least, he understands that he was a prize cock and it has wrecked many people's view of him
  5. OK well the answer requires some decent imagination and effort, but try if you can to visualise a cross between Katy Perry and Julianna Marguiles (the Good Wife). Though perhaps taller
  6. Well, aside from why does it matter, no one wonders what you look like? then the answer was open to anyone to follow the invites to meet up for a drink at Arsenal (twice) or St Marys last week. Be patient and you may get another chance...
  7. Strangely, given that the interview was not directly on this topic, he failed to give a breakdown, sorry
  8. Ok, well you asked...... No, you are thinking of Liquidation (which often follows Admin) which happens after the assets or main business have been sold. The other potential outcome process is a CVA. Receivership is incredibly rare these days, it used to be a common procedure and involved a secured lender (think mortgage) appointing someone over their assets, usually the main business and property etc. It has been 99.5% replaced by Administration, which involves a court appointed person (or three people as it is here) who has to try to either rescue the business, or achieve a better outcome than Liquidation could do alone. The Administrator is court official and must act for the benefit of all creditors, not just the secured lender. In the media though, the term "Receivership" is used generally, in the same way as Companies are sometimes described as "going bankrupt" - which only applies to individuals. Chances are that this is actually an Administration, unless this appointment is only over a Property.
  9. 250 people employed, according to the RK interview on the BBC site today
  10. Agreed usually. One notable exception though: when UVG played a defence splitting 30-40 yard ball, away to Newcastle, which saw Le Tissier beat the defence to (almost as surprising) before lashing home the half volley from the edge of the area.
  11. Hugely different to Wupes in so many ways, thankfully
  12. Sweet if is back to form for the last game, City away.
  13. Harry Kane is nowhere near that
  14. Am not having that. No way that I am a northern, ill educated, irrational disklike of intelligence, benefit claiming, dressed like the 80s have not finished, pie eating, ale swilling, whippet racing fan, washing in the street, chips with gravy, alcoholic, oasis & stone roses wannabie, with a complete lack of tolerance
  15. After a long while off the bike (injury) I am back today! Gentle one today, then back on this thread and it looks like I am still the only MTB rider.... Was planning a serious bike upgrade for a new British bike, but postponing that as I am out of work in 2 weeks time. Bird, based near Bracknell, was started by 3 MTB enthusiasts just 2 years ago, and is winning rave reviews for its bikes which are highly specced but at very good prices. Sadly for you they dont make any roadies! My local MTB trail centre, Swinley Forest, has seen a raft of serious accidents recently (average air ambulance call outs now 3 per week). Whether its newbies or the cold conditions I dont know, but I will be taking it steady after 4 months off!
  16. Plus they have not read this thread properly
  17. This. On the back of the awards speech at the end of the season when he said he wanted to stay as long as we keep improving. Then, while away with England, he was asked (on tv again) if he had yet spoken to "your new manager, RK"? Looking shameful he said no, he had not, but cheerfully moved on to say that he had called MoPo to wish him all the best.
  18. Witty abuse preferred. And Tadic to score just after we sing his song re Liellana
  19. Would prefer a draw and a replay please, much as I want Palace to win
  20. Made no difference to the outcome at all, but simply one of worst umpire decisions I can recall at the end of our innings, denying Taylor a century.
  21. Predictably bad. Spent the last 3 years getting very pleased when we do manage to not collapse (not often enough) and go on to score 270/280, as if that is still a good knock. 320 plus is standard fare for the top teams and has been for a while.
  22. Agree re Vince. Looking at England's schedule this year, it is even more mad than normal, with a tour or series in every month from now until September, followed by a trip to SA from Dec to Feb. Quite why I am going to Dublin for an ODI in May is beyond me
