I seem to remember him starting really well then going off the boil.

In this case yes, I should imagine it might. But if back playing in any first team at this standard I presume he was all clear and back up to full fitness. I am not an expert in this area, but know of players that do not get back to first team football after successful treatment. Looking at other players I would say we mismanaged them.

Just shows that it is our managers that do not get the best out of players. Ever thought why the majority do better before and after joining or leaving us?
-
Yeah not happening in that one 😂
-
Well that went to shite!

Could do with us grabbing a win and Brum pegging Charlton back to 1-1. We will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.

Great response to going behind and getting level right on the break. Also good to see the skates pegged back to 1-1 and Bristol City pegged back in the last couple minutes of the first half, as they were running away with the game 0-3 and now 2-3 at half time at Sunderland.

Watching Eastleigh (Swaythling FC) at the moment. Weird game because they went down early on, but in open play have been the better side and could have been level, but in the last 10 minutes errors could have seen them 2 or 3 down. FA Cup a couple of years ago Eastleigh beat Reading. I enjoyed that game.

Linney is the first name on the team sheet for league games up here. With his partner Con-Clarke they will be a force up front. But over the last 2 years they have not shown to much fight with 2 relegations from league 1 then league 2 last season. A bit like Saints the owners are big on promotion the club and doing the commercial side of things well, but on the pitch has been a disaster. They like Saints have not been employing the right people on the football front.

I have heard bounded about from a few that nothing will happen until the next international break. I do not understand this thinking? If you are going to sack a manager, surely you pull the trigger? Say we did beat Wednesday next week, would that change their mind? Also I have said it many times, this will end badly, Still is not going to turn this around, so to give us the best shot and trying to reach the playoffs, we need to make the change now. We are not to far off the playoffs by points, but what is happening on the pitch we are light years away.
-
Can’t believe he is still here. The lack of being decisive is amazing! Get him out, as it will just end badly down the line. We do not hear anything one way or the other from the owners. It makes it worse.

I lived in Reading from 1998 to 2001. I also know a lot of Reading fans. I went to the Playoff Final v Walsall in that time as well with them. But I laughed when Walsall scored twice in 2 minutes, which shows I did not really care. Ha ha ha. Also had a really crappy relationship there, but then met my now wife of 20 years, so a bit of a mix bag I suppose. But enjoyed Carlisle beating them yesterday 😃

Not something that could ever happen. I have ‘followed’ a few teams where I have lived in the past, but they have to be lower down the league. Torquay (first ever football match I went to). Woking, Cambridge Utd, and Royston Town, and now Carlisle and Annan (places I live) NEC in the Netherlands as I went to their ground in the late 80’s and have followed there fortunes since. In Scotland I also like Hibs. I also watch out for teams Eastleigh, Totton, and Sholing, along with AFC Wimbledon to make sure they are doing better than franchise FC. With all of the above and games that I go to for Cambridge and Carlisle for example, you can never feel the same passion that you do for Saints, nowhere near. You can try and force it, but it can never come from raw passion and the heart. It is like acting football fans in films or tv programs, it cannot be done, as it has to have the passion. I love football and I will pretty much watch and from the championship down (not interested in the Premier League or Champions League or even the other foreign leagues outside of the Netherlands) to Sunday league in the local parks, but nothing matches or comes anywhere near Southampton FC.

I do have fond memories of QPR away, as it was one of the first away games that I went too. Either this or Chelsea. I remember Ken Monkou scoring against us for Chelsea and I think it was 2-2, but the QPR game was 1-4. We beat Liverpool the week or 2 later 4-1 at home. I just used to love the small compact away end. The picture of Shearer scoring and being held up in the air in that game was used on one of the fanzines that I still have. Now of course it would be crap as I am 36 years older and reminiscing makes things seem much better. 2-0 to QPR.

Let’s get our money together and launch a fan led majority share in the club. Any of you lot minted? On second thoughts imagine the mess we would be in! 😧
-
No, I cannot be arsed. This is the lowest I have felt since losing 0-2 at home to Rochdale in League One. The away game was not much better, but at least we got a point and we were heading upwards.

Markus will be turning in his grave at what is happening at the club he saved. Sad times.

Now you see I think if I lived in Southampton, I would still get involved even though I am 50 now. I have mellowed but this kind of thing really gets me. Things are quite clearly very wrong and rotten at the club, but we seem to just except it. Wednesday fans a little different but it had to get into quite a state first even there.
-
Bored now. I’m going to order a Chinese and have a few drinks. To celebrate a battling performance from the mighty Carlisle. 2-0 down in the 93rd minute. Came back to 2-2 and won in extra time.

In the olden days a huge amount of fans (me and friends included) would gather around the players and officials entrance and protest. I remember these scenes especially under the ‘leadership’ of Branfoot. This all seemed change when we moved to St Mary’s. There is an even bigger area, with more fans, but they just boo and feck off home. Why is no one protesting? I don’t get it!

Isn’t a lot of the stuff he says in his interviews shine him in a very dim light, as it is his job to make sure these things are happening, as dare I say it…. He is the fecking manager!

Anyone else just waiting for the title of this thread to change from Will Still to Will Still Sacked.
