  1. If Holgate goes, does that open up a loan from elsewhere? Are we limited to how many loanees we can have? There's a chap at Chelsea who isn't getting any game time. Returning from an injury imminently apparently, but would be ideal to get him back up to fitness by loaning him to us for 6 months. Goes by the name of Romeo Lavia.
  2. Ah, but could he score for The Toffees? I do wonder if he is being coached to his strengths. "If in doubt, pass it back so the ball can be recycled 372 times before it comes back to you in about 7 minutes time".
  3. Unai Emery joined Villa on 22nd October 2022. Two and a half weeks later (10th November) we employed the utter bonkers Welsh Wizard. Well done Rasmus!.....Is there a chapter in your book on "ambition"?
  4. Pope out for 4 months at Newcastle with dislocated shoulder. Do you think they'd be interested in a Goalkeeper with bags of Premiership experience, capped by England yet currently warming a bench in Southampton. Step forward Alex McCarthy. For £40m he's theirs!
  5. There's passion and then there's utter fucking bonkers!
  6. With all due respect, can he actually be trusted to walk through an open door? Oh no, my nervous twitch has suddenly come back. Think about something else......
  7. Even when things weren't going well for him, it always looked like he was trying, and putting the effort in, when many would have just thrown in the towel. I'm pleased for the the lad that it's coming good for him and long may it last. If he carries on like this, the next problem will be trying to keep hold of him! You just can't win can you!
  8. Haha. That is truly brilliant. In many ways it reminded me of the Wesley Hoedt School of Defending.
  9. Not missing VAR one bit. Let's just do away with the offside rule altogether. It will surely lead to more goals, more excitement. Coaches and defenders, and indeed attackers will have to adapt accordingly. And if they have to look at a VAR incident 965 times from 29 different angles (ok, so I exaggerate) to see if it's a penalty then it's not a clear and obvious mistake by the ref. He has called it as he has seen it and we should stick with that. If after one or two views at most they can't decide, then get on with it. Stick with the original decision. Its very subjective in those decisions anyway. Dangerous "studs up" type tackles, it seems to work well if the ref misses it, but apart from that it ain't working. Mind you, even with a "head butt" type incident in the Fulham v Wolves game last night, they got that wrong as well....in my opinion of course, but there again, that's subjective.
  10. Man City v Liverpool. 98 minutes of Peter Drury the commentator vomiting inane fucking facts at every opportunity. Give it a rest. Just commentate on the game. I guess we should just be grateful Carragher didn't cover the game.
  11. I've hated Everton for many, many years now. In fact, for as long as I can remember. The only problem is, it's so long ago, I can't actually remember why I started hating them in the first place! My son is 35 now, but I do remember when he was old enough to "understand" football, I sat him down for that all important father to son chat. "Son, I don't mind who you grow up supporting, that is entirely a matter for you. But all I ask is, that it isn't Everton". And then for many years he told me he supported Man U. Oh well!!! And then when he must have been in his late teens I guess, I remember he sat me down for that all important son to father chat. "Actually Dad, I have lied to you for many years. I couldn't bring myself to tell you. I actually support................The Saints. ". He still comes to St Mary's with me when we are both able. Weirdly, I think he still hates Everton.
  12. 90 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Shit England, Shit Ref, Shit match, Shit pundit (Dublin). What a great night.
  13. Probably not, but he might have been better at dealing with crosses!
  14. Dreadful game and what's worse, how has Dion Dublin got the "pundit" gig. He's mastered the art of stating the bleeding obvious. And then contradicts himself. "Must start on the front foot and get at them" and then within seconds "They have to be patient". Arrrrrggghhhh!
  15. Still looked very capable in the last World Cup if I recall. Good player. Bags of experience and if we get injuries I would say he could still be useful. So a short term deal might be very useful.
  16. Romeo Lavia still yet to kick a ball for Chelsea. Apparently he has had a a fairly long-term ankle problem. Apparently he is nearing fitness again. I know he is no longer a concern of ours, but I do hope his career won't be blighted by injuries. He's one of the few who have moved on who I would actually like to see do well. It won't happen of course, but a loan move back to us in January, to "find his feet" again would be brilliant. Just sayin'.
  17. All together now, in your best Geordie accents....."E I E I E I O WATCH OUR IN-JU-RY LIST GROW"
  18. Yes, Rashford is wasting his time and career at Man U. I agree, I think he would fit well at Spurs, but boy oh boy can you imagine Richarlison, Antony and Bruno Fernades all together at Man U. What a side-splitting fucking bundle of laughs that would be! 😞☹️😧
  19. The United player - Antony. It must be a close run thing between him and Richarlison (Spuds) as to who is the most miserable fucker on a football field. They must each be making a very handsome living, earning obscene amounts of money for playing a game they (presumably) love, but I don't recall ever seeing either of them smile. But have to agree with others, Tino was brilliant. We were lucky to have seen him at Saints and he made us some ££££'s as well. Good luck to the lad. It looks as though he has recovered fully from his bad injury.
  20. Tippy Tappy Bollocks. Obviously delighted to steal a point, but hardly deserved. Okay Lego Head, where to now? Can I suggest the door might be your first option. I received an email from Saints today, telling me I had a "present" awaiting me. I opened the email to find they are offering me £5 off my ticket for the Birmingham game on Saturday and that my ticket, which would normally cost £20 will now cost me only £15. So as I understand it, my "present" is basically me giving them £15 to go and watch this turgid shit. Thanks, but no thanks.
  21. The trouble is, when your boyhood hero dies, it serves to remind you that you are getting old too. Sir Bobby was in my opinion, the greatest ever. Imagine what he could have been like with the quality of pitches we have now. When you look back on the old clips of him playing, many of the pitches looked like recently plowed fields. A genius, a legend, and an extremely humble man too. RIP Sir.
  22. Totally sticking my neck out here. I think he's got 2 more games. Poor performance against Middlesbrough (a scratchy draw?) and spanked by Leeds = GONE! That leaves Rotherham and an International break for the shiny new manager. Probably totally wrong, but I'm living in hope.
  23. Oh Fuck. He's on about analyzing this latest shambles. The same as he analyzed after the Sunderland and Leicester defeats I assume. Telling the players to be brave! Not at Mad Nate levels yet, but I would suggest closing the gap nicely.
  24. We've made a montage of Gav - Brilliant - that's going to sort it all out. "We are consistent". Add "ly shit" and you're spot on mate. "Social media is crazy". Well there's a fucking revelation! You'll find that if you're doing a good job it's not so crazy. If you are doing a shit job it becomes "crazy". If you know it ain't working you start blaming Social media. "I'm relaxed". Well you fucking shouldn't be. "I'm looking forward to tomorrow". Well I'm glad you are, because I'm not. "I'm happy with the work we've done this week". Yeah I'm sure the montage of Gav is wonderful. He's starting to sound like Jones to me, believing his own hype (bollocks). Maybe it's just me, but he comes across as being right up his own arse. Never wrong. Not an awful lot of humility on show. I confess to being a Ralph fan, although in the end I had to concede that he'd run out of ideas with the players he had (and had allegedly fallen out with some) and I know he got some things wrong, but right now, I'd take him back in a heartbeat.
  25. Whitey. I can only echo what every other well-wisher has said. Peace & Love mate.
