I can see 6-8 points from those fixtures which won't be a disaster.

I don't think motivation is the problem......possibly lack of quality competition for places has led to a bit of complacency for one or two, lets face it,out of the last 3 games the only one you would of realistically said we could of got something from was Wigan,I would of been happier with 3 points from nine but 2 isn't a disaster. We are in a decent position but with Reading hitting form and QPR tightening up we need to keep plugging away,I should imagine that villa will find today's result more devastating than ours at Wigan......today could of been worse,we could of lost.

I havnt seen anything that bothers me into thinking we are doomed yet we still keep dropping silly points,I want us to be safe before the last game of the season but I fear it will go to the wire. I'm confident we will stay up but I would like us to give the teams around us a good kicking in the process.

When is Ramirez going to start justifying his price-tag?
lordswoodsaints replied to Sheaf Saint's topic in The Saints
He will probably never repay his price tag for us as its a big price to live upto although the price is not his fault. We have better players who cost a lot less like cork or Morgan and a player who cost virtually nothing in shaw and at the moment the only thing preventing gaston from being dropped is his price tag. Imo he hasn't done anything that sets the world alight and I doubt he probably ever will for us. -
Is the January transfer window a waste of time?
lordswoodsaints replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
I'm sure you would if lambert or lallana for example got cherry picked and we ended up struggling until the end of the season then relegated -
Is the January transfer window a waste of time?
lordswoodsaints replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
I think the only ones to gain from it are sky who hype up the signings of average players and redknapps bank account -
I'm not saying it because we didn't do much business,in fact I was saying we should get rid of it before it even opened. I would like to see it gone as its more of a distraction and an inconvenience to clubs and to players at a crucial time in the season IMO. Either get rid of it and come up with a better solution or better still go back to the old way of doing things by keeping it open all season. What do you lot think?

No,I'm driving him and I'm going to take the roads with the most twists and turns and then not get anywhere just to let him know what it feels like.

Same old, same old.....a whole month to do transfers and its left til the last few minutes on the last day........here's an idea, make the transfer window one day.

Is this why he did so well in management?

When I spoke to billy he told me that saints had the option to recall him in the January transfer window but he didn't expect it to happen......I'm guessing things have changed.

I'm with you alps I think Adkins has been aware that he was just the seat warmer for a couple of months.

Are we PRO or ANTI Cortese on this Forum
lordswoodsaints replied to Miltonroader07's topic in The Saints
I'm 100% what is best for the club and as cortese has delivered prem football you can't really argue with the fellas decisions. -

I know that the liebherrs visit st Mary's only a handful of times per year and they demand absolute secrecy about their arrival and don't want people to know they are there.....don't ask me how I know this, you'll just have to trust me on this.........so I'm gleaning from this behavior that they are not really interested in the day to day cogs and wheels of SFC. Cortese has been given the key to the kingdom I'm afraid so good luck with getting the family to make a comment.

For better or for worse football has moved on and so have we,although I would love it to go back to the old days when I was a kid in the 70's and through to teenage years in the 80's standing on the terraces it is never going to happen. Things have moved on and there are a lot of younger supporters who will never experience being treated like a caged animal so although those days have gone and things have improved we are still treated like animals....cash cows who have to remain silent. Football is big business and sometimes decisions are made that are unpopular just like other big businesses and the supporters voice is not as essential as it once was for these businesses to continue. If people want to voice their concerns then that's fine by me,after all I did it back in the branfoot days and in the end the supporters got their way........but I'm not so sure this would happen today at a privately owned club,in fact I can positively say it wouldn't happen. By all means let your feelings be known as its your right as a fan but people need to realize that it won't change a thing. Cortese has made some controversial decisions in the past that have turned out ok so we have to give him a chance to prove the right decision was made so I suggest you give him a bit of stick when he takes his seat ( if that what you want to do) but then put equal amounts of effort in getting behind the team.

Tbh Adkins has been a dead man walking since the end of last season and I know for sure he wanted to sell lambert in the summer so none of this surprises me. But saying all that I was warming to the man and it seems he was treated a bit harsh but I think his departure was inevitable.

I've been saying the same thing since the takeover as well Duncan but some people just don't get it. Everybody is free to protest their dissatisfaction if they are not happy but it is falling on deaf ears and you are wasting your time, cortese will do what he thinks is right to maximise the value of the club for the liebher family and he won't be fazed or swayed by a few hundred fans singing silly songs, throwing their season tickets on the pitch or posing for an echo photographer whilst putting on an angry face and crossing your arms. Some have said 'would you kick up a fuss if cortese changed our colours to blue and moved to Belfast etc etc'......well yes I think everybody would but it wouldn't change a thing,if cortese thinks it will make the investment better then he would do it. It might not be right but this is the price you pay for being owned privately, everybody knew that it would come one day so just learn to live with it......that family friendly, plucky upstart club we used to know (for us fans of a certain age) no longer exists,it died years ago,it's all about the money now. Your job is to pay your money, watch the game with optional singing/chanting, spend a few quid in the stadium and fook off home.....nothing more nothing less.

I had doubts about Nigel from about march last year and I seriously thought he wouldn't last the summer but he did, then from the off this season I had serious doubts about his ability and wanted him gone before it was too late,he has made some strange/terrible decisions but he was on the up and I changed my mind about him. Tbh I was a bit gutted that he went but that more to do with him being an honest ,likeable bloke who seems to have been treated a bit rough, saying all that we don't know what went on behind the scenes and probably never will. Today I still feel bad for him but feel a lot better about the situation we are in and I am looking forward to Mondays game. Lets not forget that every manager at some point has replaced a manager that has been sacked after all Adkins replaced pardew. I'm sure he will be fine and I really do hope for the best for him but we have to move on and only time will tell if it is the right move or not. I was one that called for his head earlier in the season but I came around to thinking he was doing a decent job. I'm sure Nigel would want us all to be positive after all he was the smiley king of positivity something which I sometimes lack so hats off to the man.
