I'm with this,I don't go to support a manager.....in fact I don't really give a rats arse who the manager is as long as I see a decent game of footie played by players who put the effort in.

Simple really.... Do you think the new man will build on what Nigel has achieved and finish the season comfortably or do you think this will end in tears and we will get relegated or do you expect there will be little improvement and we will just be treading water? I know next to nothing about the new fella and will reserve judgment until I see how he deals with his new job, but im guessing there won't be a lot of difference this season and we will probably just escape relegation which is more or less what i was expecting from Nigel tbh, although 2 months ago I was certain we would be relegated so how do you lot see the rest of the season panning out now?

To all those singing silly songs in protest on Monday please refrain from wasting your breath,it's not going to change anything,cortese doesn't give a fook about you or your songs.....the happy clappy,country bumpkin,small family club that we used to know died a long time ago. Cortese has a job to do for the family and he will continue on his path regardless of what you think or do,SFC is now a big business that doesn't require the input of the fans so put your hankies away,roll up your banners and painted sheets, Kerb your silly songs and enjoy the game......does it really matter who's in charge?

Could this of been the catalyst that set the wheels in motion to get rid of Adkins sooner rather than later? Was it a defiant two fingers to cortese by Adkins because he already knew his fate?

If I'm being honest cortese can do exactly how he wants,he has been given free range to run the club by the family and his job is to maximize their investment.....he doesn't need a single fan and he doesn't care if we turn up or not,why would he?

Putting the disappointment and resentment to one side that a lot of you feel,can you honestly say you are surprised by what has happened? or were you expecting it? I can honestly say that I was expecting Adkins to go in this transfer window or before if I'm honest as I don't think things have been right for about a year,the only surprise for me is the choice of new manager.....lets be honest,it wouldn't of been any saints fans choice to appoint him and most have probably not even heard of him but isn't that the same situation when Nigel was appointed? IMO Nigel has been treated harshly and probably deserved at least 1 full season in the prem but we have been struggling and things have looked a bit fragile at times so perhaps it could turn out to be the right decision. So going back to the title of the thread ...... Are you surprised by his sacking or were you expecting it?

I am surprised by the replacement but not surprised by Adkins getting the boot,I know for certain there was a bit of a problem between him and a couple of players and although he has done well in recent games the writing was on the wall.

I'd be very surprised if any of our players become long term England players whilst playing for us........it's wrong but prejudice against the smaller clubs is rife and probably always will be.

I'd have to say at the moment that he hasn't lived up to the hype or the price tag but nor has jayrod and mayuka,the only one who's seems to have been a bargain is yoshida but going back to gaston he obviously has talent, after all didn't lambert say that he makes everybody look crap in training?.....he just needs a bit of time to adjust I suppose but as I've said before we probably won't get to see the best of him in a saints shirt so if I had to write a half term report on him then it would have to be 'must try harder'
