On the eve of Adkins appointment I said that 'it would never work out,he would be sacked within a year and we should have gone for a big name' I also said 'the 5 year plan was a load of ****** as football is so unpredictable you can't have a plan' And Friday night I was talking about sharp not being fit and he won't get a decent chance until lambert gets injured....less than 24 hours later he bags a brace against Doncaster. I'm sure there's a few more, some of you might even dig some out and make me look even more of a ****, So I've come to the conclusion that I know fook all about football and I should keep my mouth shut. Anybody else want to own up to not knowing anything about football,or predictions that bite you on the arse? Cleanse your soul here!

I had a tear in my eye and a lump in my throat when he scored his first today, really pleased for him,he deserves a bit of a break.

If its any consolation norm I've been completely wiped from the database as well, don't know why and no explanation from the powers that be....so I've had to buy tickets using my 3 sons names who mysteriously are all still on the database.

Pearce going to cross the divide?
lordswoodsaints replied to georgeweahscousin's topic in The Saints
I'm not sure he supports Pompey,he was born and bred in London so I'd imagine he supports somebody up there. -
Will we be in the prem fighting for survival,or charging up the league? Will we still be in the championship challenging for promotion again or struggling? Will we be able to keep hold of lambert, lallana etc or will they be struggling to gain a place because of better players coming in? 12 months is a very long time in football.
-
Without lallana taking an extra touch we wouldn't have got half the goals we have scored this season.....I don't know the numbers but his assists are a big contribution.

Carve sfc on his forehead with a razor and kick him in the nuts and maybe rub a chilli around his bell end.

45 next week, first game when I was 4 so 1971, first away game was Pompey in 1976 and I have been to every saints v Pompey game (home and away) ever since.my dad was good mates with Jim Steele so mid to late 70's got to see most games.teenage years in the 80's was a good period, went to most away games and met loads of mates that are still friends to this day some that are on here, also made friends with a couple of saints players from this period,Reuben agboola,Dennis wise and mark Dennis. Been on a couple of trips to Europe, clashed with a few of the big names in hooliganism despite what it says in their silly little books.got 4 kids that have all been taught the value of supporting your hometown club through the good times as well as the bad,and never give in to the temptation of supporting the big money clubs. Supporting saints has been a constant in my life for as long as I can remember, and I've met some good friends along the way.

I'm with this. Everything they achieved as cheaters should be wiped from the record books otherwise it just gives everybody else the green light to **** the taxman over and go and buy players that command silly wages to gain an unfair advantage of the rest of the league. ****ing let them cheating bastards die I say, they got away more or less unscathed last time and now they are trying it on again......it takes the ****.
-
They made the decision to go out and get players like sol Campbell and pay him £100k a week and he was not the only one,ok they had premiership money but had a max crowd of 20k,they had an owner who was well off but didn't have the same clout as abramovich etc. They fooled themselves into thinking they were on a par with the big boys but in reality they were living the champagne lifestyle on lemonade money. Any success they gained should be struck from the record books otherwise it makes a mockery of the whole game,it becomes a race between who can in enhance their status the most by going into debt. Drug cheats get banned for trying to enhance themselves, they try to gain an advantage over their rivals by taking enhancing drugs so why should a football club get away with more or less doing the same thing? They gained an advantage over other clubs who paid their bills and didn't spunk the hmrc money on players how is that fair? If they get away with it,which IMO they have so far, then other clubs who run a tight ship are just going to say **** it let's not pay the taxman this month, let's go and buy a player instead. They are dirty cheating bastards, who have been run by shady characters for too long and now it's time to punish them. Ok,some would say that it's not the fans fault and tbh I had some sympathy for them last time but now they are just taking the ****.......after all these are the same fans that cheered on the overpaid superstars they had and not one of them questioned the decisions being made, not one of them stood up and asked 'how the **** is all this being paid for?'. But it's funny how they're all crying now into their fishy scarves about how hard done by they are. 'who the **** is laughing now' Coyr
-
They are cheats, simple as that. They decided to buy players and pay those players silly money rather than pay their bills and that bought them some success. All of the Pompey fans that are now crying and moaning about the state of the club were the same fans who were pushing the club to go out and buy better more expensive players. They were living well above their means and they all deluded themselves that they were a big club and had the best fans in the world. They haven't been punished enough in my opinion,so whilst they continue to get away with it I will be wishing they get proper ****ed. We are the dominant force on the south coast and always will be regardless of the division we are in.

To lambert and lallana from yesterday?
-
Whatever happened to the working mans game that you used to be able to turn up on the day pay your cash and get in....now some spotty little **** with a season ticket and laptop gets priority over me who has followed saints around the country and Europe a couple of times, spent hundreds on merchandise for the kids and most of the 80's fighting rival fans to protect the reputation of SFC. What has this world come to.
-
I think some of you have to accept that times are hard for many people at the moment and although all saints fans would love to goto every game the reality is that family, bills, mortgage etc etc are higher up the pecking order.......regardless of how well the team is doing.

What a season 78' was,So are you saying I need to shed 8 stone, shave my pubes and talk in a squeaky voice cos I was only 11.... are we destined for a wall collapse like it did at orient? Because this time I'll stand a bit further back. Coyr

All this talk of getting rid of Adkins is getting silly,we are not performing well at the moment but does it seem bad because we over achieved for the first half of the season? We are still 2nd FFS and it looks as if west ham and Cardiff are constantly taking 1 step forward and 2 back much the same as us,do any talk of getting rid of Adkins is lunacy at this crossroads. Win the next 2 games and we will be back in control, spirits will be high and so will the confidence of the players......if cortese is turning up the pressure on Adkins then good,he has to take it on the chin and get over the problems dogging us right now. We are not in form at the moment but west ham,Cardiff,Birmingham and all the others hoping to get promoted will have the same blip as we are having. I am confident we will still go up coyr
-
Sorry but I don't subscribe to blindly trusting somebody, and cortese/Adkins can spout what they like about going for promotion but so is every other manager/chairman/owner in every league. Football is too unpredictable to draw up a plan and stick to it,but we are doing well and we are in the driving seat to get promoted,I just hope the players realise that they can do it starting Saturday. Now the bar has been set and anything less than automatic promotion will be a massive dissapointment and a deep deep scar to heal over the summer
-
If you are being honest with yourselves, nobody expected or predicted our great start,we have been punching above our weight and riding our luck but it only takes a few key injuries and a player or two to lose form and we begin to show our true colours. Our true position in this league will be the one we find ourselves in at the end of the season.we have a good chance of promotion,it is still in our own hands and luckily enough the teams around us are just as inconsistent as us. Getting beat by millwall has done us a favour IMO,the league has to be our priority.
-
Pompey are loaded and have the best fans in the world and they are not kiddie fiddlers. David Armstrong actually has hair it's just so fine you can't see it. The saints forum is true reflection on how all fans actually think. I didn't see billy sharp in ikea the day before he signed. All outrageous.

Pic of Saints fans at Bham. Spot anyone you know?
