  1. We have been out of the prem whilst spurs have been spending so yes there is no comparison, what you failed to read is that we started on the same course 30 years ago and I was proving a point to all those idiots who think that our problems are down to a high turnover of managers.....it isn't. Our problems are solely down to money, money not invested in the team, the unwillingness to pay decent players decent wages, not giving money to managers to spend in the transfer Market etc etc.........I'm a great believer in 'if you pay peanuts you get monkeys' . Our unwillingness to compete led to our downfall,we didn't speculate to accumulate and our policy for the last 15 years has been to 'go cheap' .....wigley,gray,sturrock,dodd/gorman springs to mind and the list of cheap crap players is a lot lot longer and sadder. Now to your last point......you say that the colchester players were trying to impress their new manager and this is the reason why we couldn't break them down,we have a new manager and I havnt seen any signs of our players trying to compete for his affections. They are either crap players or they don't give a fook what he thinks.
  2. tbf the fans have been getting behind the team for as long as I can remember so that isn't really a problem. I wasn't there on Saturday as I am on holiday but I did listen to the game on the radio and the booing came over loud and clear,it didn't sound like just a few people more like the majority of the ground. My stance on it is that cheering and booing are forms of expression and whilst the players lap up and thrive on applause they should also accept the booing. If I was booed whilst playing then I would make sure that I worked harder to turn those boos into cheers. The mood of the crowd is just a guage on how well the team are doing, would the team play any better behind closed doors?.......I doubt it.
  3. Sssshhhhh, don't to suggesting money buys success on here, some people will have a fit. It's our ever changing managers that keeps us down apparently ;-) not our unwillingness to spend money.

  5. I would suggest that if the youngsters are not doing it then pardew should get rid,and replace them with players who are capable. We havnt got the time to spend on training youngsters to follow orders, not in the first team anyway.
  6. To all the people who crave stability and a long term manager I suggest you go and find it elsewhere as it ain't going to happen here,in fact it doesn't happen anywhere, even Manu, arsenal and everton have their problems. Change happens,it might cause problems but it might also cause success,it's a gamble but nothing to fear.
  7. I'd be happy if I were a spurs fan at the moment wouldn't you. I would take 30 seasons of uninterupted top flight football regardless of what arsenal are up to,it has to be better than freefalling down the leagues doesn't it?. The comparison I made was because spurs were promoted with us ,have had more managers than us,have won more trophies than us since promotion and have managed to deliver to their fans top flight football. I also said that you could count on one hand the clubs in the league with long term managers, arsenal being one,so comparing spurs with arsenal is no comparison at all, however comparing spurs with saints is realistic. There is a massive manager merry-go-round in this country and we are just a small part of it,nothing will stop it and to think we should not be part of it is ridiculous IMO. Currently there are approx 90 managers out of work in this country, they all need jobs so it fuels the constant cycle of change.we can't get off of the merry-go-round,we are neither big enough or willing to spend the money to do so,so we are forever doomed to a high turnover of managers. Get used to it,accept it and move on.it will do us no less harm than any other club.
  8. I have never said I want him sacked, what I have said is that I don't think he is upto the task. I have pointed out a good comparison in spurs because people are afraid of managerial change. Pardew is not entirely to blame, our problems started years ago but I also don't think pardew is the cure. I am realistic and if things don't work out for pardew then so what,it won't be the end of the world if another manager comes along, get used to it,it happens at every club.
  9. As I said yesterday on another thread,if turnover of managers is the reason/excuse for failure why aren't spurs or man city down with us?,spurs being the prime example...... Since our promotion together in 78 spurs have had 24 managers to our 18,they have won 7 major trophies and been runners up 4 times (all before redknapp),they have been in the top flight for 30+ years......24 different managers hasn't shackled their consistent progress. So bollix it ain't,changing managers is the norm for 99% of the football league and it is also a myth that changing managers = failure. You need to find a more credible excuse for our sh1tty little, run of the mill club.like the majority of the league we cannot afford the luxury of stability.
  10. I'm afraid 5 year plan or not, pardew will not last until Christmas if he can't even muster a game plan.I don't think he is able to cope with the massive job that needs doing here,if he is struggling now then he is going to find it even more difficult come Christmas when the crowd really start to turn the screws.yesterdays booing signals the end of the honeymoon period and the start of his problems IMO.
  11. Let's hope that this season is not a reflection of last season at all......for the record I think it will be worse, only difference being is we ain't got lowe, debt and the threat of administration.
  12. I would have said there was one or two in front of 'yes mrs Paterson',mellow springs to mind, what Chelsea see in him god only knows.
  13. I can't see them beating a pub team tbh,I'm 42 and I know for sure that I've got a lot more fight In me than that lot. The ponces need to spend a little time as a working class hero to put the fear and fight into them,a few weeks amongst the unwashed should see them right.
  14. I would say staying in the 1st div/prem for 30+ years success wouldn't you?,they got promoted with us back in the 70's and have had 24 managers since promotion, they have won 7 major trophies and been runners up 4 times in various cups all before harry arrived. We are not a big enough club to afford the luxury of stability that's if stability is not just a myth.
  15. Spurs have a revolving door for managers and they seem to be doing fine, changing managers often is the norm for the majority so embrace it,we ain't Manu or arsenal,we are not even an everton.......in fact we are just another sh1tty little club in a sh1tty little league just like 99% of the rest of the sh1tty clubs with short term managers,we are no different,we aren't special.
  16. The booing came over loud and clear, the natives are getting restless and it sounded like the whole ground and not just a few 'impatient/hysterical/unrealistic' fans. Wether or not fans like it,managers get the boot regurlarly, you can count on one hand the long term managers in all of leagues, managers come and go so it will not be out of the ordinary and nothing to fear. I will be surprised if pardew lasts until Christmas.
  17. Tbh I would worry more about the players who are playing and drawing a wage for no return. The players who are not playing (for whatever reason) have no chance to affect the result of a match but the players who are playing cannot even beat a crap team of 10 men......which players are the frauds?
  18. Remind me again when the season starts? Was it today? Or is it next time? What a fookin joke of a club.
  19. You should know me by now?.....I love to throw a dodgy, uneasy post on here just to wake people up and get the blood boiling. It's a hobby :-)
  20. There are plenty of young players, past and present who have or are doing it for their clubs before doing it for their country. I just don't think he is good enough to represent England,he hasn't done anything to justify his call up,so what do they base the call up on? He has impressed for all of 10 minutes in his saints career.
  21. If Scotland fail to beat Macedonia (maybe) Who would welcome him back as saints manager? It's a no from me but could he do a decent job for a L1 club? Does he need money to operate?
  22. If running up your own arse, not being able to tackle, not able to pass to another team mate or stay on your feet is the standard then the national game is doomed. Bambi on ice IMO. How about doing it for your club before doing it for your country.
  23. Have I missed something? There must be a shortage of decent u19's players in this country.
  24. Nice idea but I'm afraid you better get your carer to call the doctor for your next injection.
  25. I didn't think he did that bad when he came on,he nearly scored. If anything he just looked a bit unfit and rusty......I've certainly seen worse players pull on a saints shirt. Going back to the original post though,I think it would have been easier to spot he was a fraud but the Internet is also responsible for millions of pounds of fraud everyday so who knows.
