Pompey have been issued with a winding up order by HMCR with a view to placing the club in bankruptcy,to be heard in early February. They also owe £10mil in payments to other clubs, this is on top of the action being taken by sol Campbell for payments of around £1.5 mil owed to him in bonuses etc. Is this a more serious position to be in than we were before the takeover?

Too much of a negative lineup first half IMO.

Their contracts finish in the next few days, which ones should we try and keep hold of? Or should they be replaced by some decent permanent signings?

Saints 3-1 Exeter - Post match Reaction
lordswoodsaints replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
Not the best game I've seen but the better team won.what was the mills sub all about?. saw the 'team bus',Surely the players didn't come in a transit:-). Thought the atmosphere was awful today, the northam was like a library ,it's nice to have a full house but not sure if it should be at the expense of the atmosphere. -
Only going on what they told me,they only offered me itchen north or south I asked for kingsland but wasn't available.??

Merry Christmas to everybody, well done to the admin and mods for doing a job that must take up a lot of your time. Hope everybody has a safe and enjoyable 2010. Coyr

Bought my tickets this morning about 10.30 all they had left was itchen north and south,I had about 20 people behind me and when I asked how many tickets left,he looked at the queue and said once I serve that lot it will probably be about it. Good news indeed.

Was expecting at least a draw which IMO was not unrealistic. It would have been a nice message of intent sent to the rest of the league if we had beaten them but it was not to be . We have done 1000% better than I expected under pardew so I have no complaints about today's result.

Steve Williams, Wayne Bridge, Theo Walcott

Agree, there are a lot on here who would have never seen Williams play so it's difficult for them to compare. When he went to arsenal he didn't have bally at his side to keep him in line,if he would stayed a couple more seasons with bally as his mentor then I think his training would have been complete and he would have become one of the best players in Europe. -

Out of those 3 the only one I was genuinly gutted about leaving was Williams, the other 2 was just good business but Williams (the gerrard of his day) was a big loss IMO. -
He might have looked but did he act on it?

Tbh every club in all divisions should be looking at what happened to us and learning from our mistakes. Reading are just one of many clubs on the slippery slope along with Pompey.

Can you go 2 hours without food or drink?
lordswoodsaints replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
I don't eat or drink any of the sh!t being passed off as refreshments for fear of catching salmonella or rabies or something. I always watch the last minute or two on the screens downstairs so as to get a quick getaway,I don't fancy sitting in a traffic jam with a bunch of kids for an hour......but I must admit this is a bad habit picked up since we moved to st marys. In the old dell days,me and my mates would have a competition to try and be the last person out of the stadium, sometimes even staying longer than the away fans so I think I have earned my early departure from my seat now.:-) -
Jesus is it 125 years already,I remember doing all the stuff for the 100 year celebrations.........jeez I'm getting old :-(

The echo used to be a good local paper reporting local news that was factual, now it is just a very very poor copy of the national red tops complete with 'sensational' headlines and sh!t stirring stories. I used to buy it everyday but now due to lazy amateur journalism,I do exactly what I do with the red tops.......I don't buy or read them.

the majority of it was built in the 70's but for some reason people think that every surrounding area of lordshill is lordshill. I believe the man in question actually lives in Lancaster road which we used to call the boundry but perhaps is more likely to be maybush. I,as you can probably guess live in Lordswood,it has always been called Lordswood for as long as I can remember and as long as my grandparents can remember but for some reason the echo always say lordshill when printing a story. In the 70's when lordshill and Lordswood was being developed the developers decided to call the whole project the 'lordshill estate' so perhaps the confusion comes from that. Basically anything the sainsburys side of the tanners brook river is lordshill, the other side is Lordswood.Funnily enough estate agents do the opposite of the echo and tend to push the boundaries of lordswood into lordshill for obvious reasons. Geography lesson over.:-)

Didn't Bart get a big chance before and didn't he really not take it? I hope he does well but I don't really rate him,his fumblings outweigh his decent stuff.
-
I think he was given a rough ride by some down here and it wasn't justified,he did well for us but I think the whole relegation thing clouded the view of a few people. I'd have him back,he's not scared of a tackle and he looks after the youngsters on the pitch.
-
That wasn't the Brighton I expected to turn up. They were better than us in all departments and we simply lost to the better team. Well done to Brighton you deserved your win,you made the 'best team in the league' look ordinary.
-
Tbf it has been the case for as long as I can remember and people older than me will probably say the same. As soon as steve Williams left (one of the youngest brightest talents at the time in this country) I knew that we would always struggle to keep our best players. Money talks and players like to listen.
-
We need to concentrate on our own performances, what is the point in fretting over what other teams are up to,we cannot influence their results. Winning every game = winning the league win most of your games and you have a chance of promotion start on -10 and win a load of games and you will probably end up mid table.
-
I was talking about this yesterday and we came to the conclusion that if a player wants leave there isn't a lot you can do about it regardless of how rich you are. If lallana wants to better himself he won't be able to do it here in L1 with us,he will feel he needs to be playing against the best players in the world in the best league in the world, getting paid more than we can give him. IMO a good move for him would be to spurs.

I can't see the attraction of gobern full stop, wherever he plays. Bambi on ice IMO.
