If P*mpey get wound-up on Friday :Poll:
lordswoodsaints replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
Won't that require a change of the Prem league rules/constitution if they promise HMRC their money over everybody else? I thought this was the reason HMRC aggressively hounding football clubs at the moment, because they are not number one in the pecking order? -
If P*mpey get wound-up on Friday :Poll:
lordswoodsaints replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
Even taking into account that both the 'suspect' players scored they still beat us 2-1. I don't know what the legalities of it are but I think we should let it lie......Pompey have darker days ahead of them with or without our involvment. -
Official: 44,000 tickets for Wembley then...

Isn't it all done by ticketmaster, hence the booking fee? -
Pardew expects Southampton board to keep their word
lordswoodsaints replied to John B's topic in The Saints
I must admit that I have been happy with the season so far....it is better than I expected, although there is room for improvement. If at the start of the season you said that we would be in the JPT final and finish mid table with an outside chance of a playoff place I would have ripped your arm from it's socket, but it is not my money pardew has at his disposal, the owners could see it differently and be expecting a better return for their money...who knows? If it is obvious that come Christmas we havnt got a chance of getting out of this league then I would not be happy but most importantly I don't think NC and ML would be either. If it is obvious that we won't get promoted next season then serious questions have to be raised about everybody, players, owners and pardew.....although with a decent pre season,a couple of decent signings and a 'level playing field' start then I can't see too many problems in getting promoted. -
I think if the whole northam/waterfront area was developed,as was discussed many times last year and the year before in takeover threads then the train companies would be falling over themselves to build a station. If we make it to the prem and this coincides with a mass development in the firm of a marina etc (perhaps a better version of gunwharf) then I can see perhaps a partial extension to st marys, maybe 40-45k capacity. When we were in the prem last time we never sold out every game so there really isn't the demand to extend.

Will Lambert be a Saints player next season
lordswoodsaints replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
There is always someone better. Of lambert wants to go then let him,I can't see a prem club wanting him and there isn't a better club than ours in L1,and not many in the ccc. -
They took their chances and we didn't....in the first half they looked a team low on confidence and they had the fans to match, the second half they started to beleivebin themselves a bit but we should have won the game in the first half when they looked defeated. There biggest battle comes on Wednesday whereas we are on the up so I'm not too depressed about the result.

Time to put the Amarillo ghost to rest
lordswoodsaints replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
The ghost is still wandering......what a load of sh!t -
That fookin song haunts me..... I was sat in the back of a meat wagon outside fratton and all I could hear was that song blaring out from the skates. Today is the day to put that ghost to bed. I will do my part from the stands.... Will you? But most importantly will the players? Time to stand up and be counted. COYR.

JPT Final - 28/03/10 - Travel Arrangements
lordswoodsaints replied to SO16_Saint's topic in The Saints
As it's my birthday I have treated myself to a hummer limo,16 of my family and friends lording it up.....nice. -
So who's travelling the furthest for the Pompey game?
lordswoodsaints replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
I admire your sacrifice and financial hardship you will endure :-) good luck with your journey. -
I know we have fans spread out across the globe but who is going to take the crown for travelling the furthest to come to the game? I think we should all applaud anybody making the effort to come from abroad, especially in these lean times. As you can probably guess,I've only got to come about 3 miles so it won't be me.

All the real action won't happen in and around the ground,it will happen away from prying eyes and CCTV.

Ah my friend you need a criminal record or to get out of it just prefix every question with 'according to the prophecy'.....that should do the trick.

Does it really matter when the game sold out? As long as it's sold out who cares if it was 2 weeks before ko or 2 minutes......I suspect that if the boot was on the other foot and Pompey were the team with a 32k stadium in L1 then they would struggle to fill the ground....of course it looks good when you see Pompey fans on the news queing to get a ticket when they've only got 4000 to sell, some of you seem to forget that we have to sell 28k in the same week as a semi final sellout and also half the tickets sold for the Pompey game would have been sold as a tied ticket. Our support is far superior to pompey's,when they were in our position they were getting crowds of 6k-8k,even in our cup game of 84' the Pompey end was filled with saints fans. I think we should all be proud of our achievements as fans this week, and for most of the season....it also looks likely that we will have the biggest turnout wembley has ever seen.....all this in a time when money is tight for the majority.

CC scored a hat trick on his debut if my memory serves me right and he was the kevin davies of his day,big bustling old fashioned centre forward who held the ball up well and knew where the goal was.
-
Last time we played them I think they were let out at the same time but to a 'pen' of old bill, ready to be marched back to the station.

Did you see alan knight talking about Pompey?.... Something along the lines of 'nobody knows what any potential buyers will be getting for their money but they will be getting the Portsmouth name and great fans' made me chuckle.....'i know, let's buy Portsmouth fc,we get the name plus some fookin smelly bell ringing knobjockys for £80m' it's a snip:-)
