We need somebody with great connections and friends at higher clubs who would be more willing to lend us a player or two,he has to be high profile to command respect both from the players and ( for some of you who worry about what the press think) media and he also needs to be able to work with cortese..... Tbh it's going to be a big ask but some of the names being mentioned on here like Adkins should not even be allowed an interview.....seriously underwhelmed if we don't get a manager with prem experience.

To all you saints overseas..... We all know that Tijuana Tim follows LA galaxy and reading his earlier post about the conparisons between galaxy and saints,I'm interested to know if any of you overseas saints fans follow any other team in your chosen country and how they measure up against saints at the moment,on and off the field? How do you feel they would get on if they played saints?

I think the saints trust and sisa should have a fight,whoever wins gets my vote.....hopefully they will knock each other out and I get to remain an independent supporter with my own agenda.

For the level of spending and investment don't you think cortese is entitled to turn the screws now and again? Ok,last year we were shackled by the -10 but we still did very well,this year the shackles are not there so there really are no excuses.

What I am saying is once you take the money from sky/premier league then you cease to become a family club and more like a money making monster that only has greed on it's mind. IMO the family club ended in the late 70's early 80's when hooliganism and caged in fans were introduced then in the 90's came the premier league break away which we were part of,with little regard for the clubs outside of the top flight we took the money not realising that one day we would rely so heavily on the sky/PL money,it was snatched away with relegation and we have struggled ever since......ok,families are welcomed at st marys but that old family club tag isn't what it used to be.

We were always going to be under pressure this season with the expectation from the media,the bookies and the fans to get promoted and I suspect we all thought we would get promoted in style,swatting 'lesser' teams aside who dared to challenge our superiority. If you couple the pressure thing,which it seems a lot of our players can't handle,with the loss of ML,the sacking of pardew,the lack of a few quality signings in key areas,lallana's injury and the lack of fitness of a couple of profile players then that all adds up to a disaster......namely us. If we can get a decent manager in this week and a few quality loans then there is still no reason why we cannot get promoted. I'm not a 'cortese til I die/in cortese we trust' type of fan but I'm sure he can be trusted to make the right managerial appointment.....at the end of the day our club shouldn't be too hard to sell to anybody,the only thing that let's us down is the league we are in,apart from that there should be managers falling over themselves to get an interview,cortese should feel like a BMW salesman,he doesn't need to do much to get the customer to part with his money.....it's a lot easier than trying to sell a Nissan anyway. Roses grow out of sh!t,hopefully we will do the same.

Our proud club disappeared years ago not yesterday. To all those who still think we should return to being a proud family club the you are living in the past.......we took the devils dirty money from sky and now we are paying the price.

Bull****,pardew has been a naughty boy and he was sacked for it.....I don't know where you got your info from but it's wrong. The senior players are not happy and they made a decision.

If true,the transfer Market is always going to be a gamble,waiting for better players is stupid IMO because those players may not become available...... The best policy is to identify 2 or 3 players that could do the job in your desired position and then pursue the best player identified followed by the second and so on. Get in early and the player can do his settling in period during the close season get in late and the player will be settling in for the first few months of the season. The decision makers should have realised that there would be a possibility the loan signings would not be allowed to stay and they should have drawn up a list of replacements.....this obviously wasn't done,the consequences being panic buys or no buys at all........not really a great decision for a club that was tipped to walk this league back into the championship.

Sorry Duncan but this time I have to disagree,I know you are well connected but I too have a connection that insists there was an incident and pardew was sacked because of it. Ok,I agree that pardew was a dead man walking from Christmas onwards but if cortese really wanted to get rid of him he would have done it at the end of the season not after a few games of the start of the new season....it doesn't make sense! My information comes from a player via a journalist,I have no reason to think he is lying and although he doesn't feed me much info he is nearly always right.

Nobody is defending cortese because the decision is probably not the right one but the decision has been made and we have to make the best of it. When people on here realise and accept that anything that happens at our club is out of our control the better.....the club is the plaything of a rich private family and they are the decision makers,we are just an annoying sideline to the club....no point stressing over things you cannot control. The sun or any national paper has never given us the respect we deserved even when we were flying in the top flight for 27 years,they are only interested in blowing sunshine up the big boys arses and kicking a club when it's down.....nobody outside of Southampton is remotely interested in our club and never have been so a few silly little jokey write ups don't really bother me or most level headed people. When we are good nobody notices when we are bad nobody forgets.

He wasn't expecting to sack pardew,there was an incident and he had to let him go.....that's why there isn't an instant fix. No point rushing into appointing his successor,make the wrong choice and this will all be happening again,make the right choice and we will be promoted.

Alan has been a very naughty boy and I would like to apologise to mr cortese and say that 'player power' has for once forced the right decision to be made at a football club. Fingers crossed we get a decent replacement.

Tbh who gives a flying **** wether or not we are in the papers or not,I couldn't give a rats arse.......if you wanna know about the football then goto the games or at worse listen on the radio,reading a report written by somebody else who doesn't give a **** about us seems pointless,it is only ever going to be the personal opinion of the person writing it.
