He's only the best left sided player in the world because he left us,don't get me wrong I was gutted when he left but he wasn't going to achieve anything here.

After witnessing saints play in the mid 70's and 80's,the 90's were a bit of a letdown apart from a few bright spots....

Nonsense,sacking a manager shouldn't put a team back a season...Norwich seemed to cope ok last season. We have been doing ok for the last few games but doing ok is not good enough for the most expensive team in the league. I wasn't at today's game but we really should be competing with the likes of Huddersfield,it sounded like we weren't doing that and that is not acceptable. The league table doesn't lie and we deserve to be where we are but the bigger picture is that we have the most expensive squad in this league and most of the championship but this is not being reflected in our play or league position. There is no need to panic as there are plenty of games to overcome any problems but there still seems a lot of problems to overcome.

I loved the man when he was here and welcomed his appointment.I looked forward to his interviews with the media and he did a great job with us. The job he done here was a mixture of extreme fitness,confidence and being the right person for the job at the right time........saints will probably be the pinnacle of his career although he did a decent job at Celtic. I can see him managing the Scottish national team at some point.

Totally agree,he was the missing part of the puzzle that would have made us the greatest team in the land at that time.

Spoke to a Bournemouth fan today,he said that they were allocated 900 but only sold 500......his reasons for not going?....he didn't want to pay £20 to sit a mile from the pitch 'a lot of Bournemouth fans felt the same' :-)

The only fans that I get annoyed with are the ones who do the interviews outside the ground or on the news.......they seem to find the biggest ****s in a saints shirt,usually they sound like they have just come from milking the cows and they always talk a load of sh!t. Please please please if any of you are approached outside the ground by the media then respectfully decline especially if you are a knob with a farmers accent.

Players are no longer permitted to tackle from behind they are forced to go for the more dangerous head on/front tackle IMO. In the 70's the restrictions on tackling were minimal and the likes of best and keegan used to get battered every week,this was all probably at the request of the opposing manager but the difference is the flair players like best and keegan learned to deal with it and it made them better players. In today's game the top players are constantly looking to the ref to protect them from the bad boys instead of improving their performance to combat the suspect tackles. Diving and faking injuries is born out of the strict tackling rules in the modern game. The game has completely changed since I was a kid and it is all down to money and greed,the clubs want to protect the vast sums of money tied up in their players and that is why managers are constantly moaning about refs and calling for there to be more technology involved.

Nor do I have time for these players and I'm all for shifting the balance of power from the players back to the clubs but unfortunately 'doing what it takes to win matches' is a tough task if there are a few bad eggs trying to spoil the party. The way I look at it is the players that are not happy are either not happy about the departure of pardew or not happy with the appointment of Adkins either way I presume this will be nipped in the bud and they will either come onside or fook off......if it's left to fester then we will have a situation the same as we had with luggy.

I also don't expect miracles overnight,tbh I am happy at the way things are going but it's not me that makes the decisions. I'm not claiming to be itk but my source has suggested that 2 or 3 are not happy with things at the moment,this is no surprise really as you can't please all of the people all of the time.....I don't think it will develop into a luggy type situation but more than likely the unhappy individuals will be shipped out......if true of course.

I will still maintain that we will be looking for another manager before his contract expires (probably next summer)......there is obviously still a problem with fitness and discipline and things are not as rosy behind the scenes as some think.

About time we had some decent action to talk about :-)

The premier league will never allow one of it's members to go bust.....but what they will do is shepherd them out of the league to the championship,basically keep a club going until they get relegated.....similar to Pompey. By Brushing a failing club out of the league,the club becomes somebody elses problem and the brand stays intact with the help of some clever damage limitation engineering.

Can I firstly say well done for noticing that there needs to be change. I'm not sure what has gone wrong for this forum but it has become very sterile and bland,over moderation? Or lack of decent members? I don't know.....perhaps a bit of both. Whoever gets the gig needs to make some brave decisions before it too late.

That's seems a little surprising to me?? At Mattys testimonial he was having a right laugh with the fans and I never remember him getting any more attention than any other player when he played against us. Didn't he do an interview when BWP joined saying how much he loved the club and how he pushed the boy to join us????

I'm with you,I wasn't going to renew this season but did so cos it's only a fiver but I wish I hadn't now and probably won't be next year unless some big changes are made. The forum is too sterile and the quality has gone downhill,a lot of members have moved on or have been excluded and the controversial stuff just doesn't exist anymore. This is due to the over the top fear of being sued.

If there is no money to be spent then pardews replacement should have been chosen for his ability to continue the good work without having to rebuild. Basically Adkins should have just been able to step into pardews shoes,not get a new pair that fits him better....... If this is not the case then fookin spend some money and let the man do his job in his own shoes. Tonights result is not acceptable whoever the manager is,we keep getting told that we have the best,most expensive squad in the league yet we fail to beat Yeovil and are struggling to even look like a convincing team against other lesser teams. Ok we beat Sheffield Wednesday,the same Sheffield Wednesday who are doomed and look worse than us....not really an achievment is it?

As predicted....it's all going to end in tears.
