Did you not read the IMO part....you are right I don't know the facts, nobody on here does but IMO (take note) he was not pinpointed by pardew as a potential signing. I am not getting on any players back.....as if any of them bother to read the stuff written on a crappy little fansite! according to some on here some of the players are involved so why should they be exempt from getting a bit of stick?.....I'm sure they will be comforted by driving home in their expensive cars to their expensive mansions to roll about in piles of money on their expensive beds. The whole club is surrounded in 'unfounded crap' so why should we be any different.

What odds cortese?
-
I'd agree with this,I wasn't a fan of pardew at the start and was a bit disappointed when he got the job,I did predict he would be gone before the end of the season and i did have a bit of an argument on here with somebody (cant remember who?) about it,i was proved wrong but only by a few weeks. However I sort of warmed to pardew although some of his decisions did baffle and frustrate me. I just hope that he was released for footballing reasons and cortese did it to better our odds of getting promoted. I don't believe the decision was made lightly and I also hope he has somebody already lined up.

Saints (0)v(1) Swindon,2nd half chat....

But we've got no sponsors on the shirt. -
No he wasn't??? He managed a very successful Monaco side and before arsenal he had a stint at grampus 8 finishing runners up in the league and winning the Japanese national cup.
-
IMO guly is the catalyst in all this.....I reckon he was forced upon pardew by cortese either to kick start his plan of getting rid of pardew or guly is part of the 'new' setup, possibly suggested as a signing by the incoming manager.
-
I'm with you I wouldn't be impressed with most of that lot.....maybe 1 or 2 would be acceptable. I really think that some of you are aiming far to low.
-
Good luck wherever you end up.....obviously we don't know all the facts but from the outside it seems that you were treated a bit shabbily. I wasn't impressed when he was unveiled but he grew on me and I was treated to a nice day out at wembley on my birthday so I will always be grateful for that. Go and prove cortese wrong......just not against us.

This is not a spur of the moment decision made by NC........ The way I see it is that if guly was a pardew signing then something has happened in the time between signing him and now that has prompted NC to sack pardew......if guly was 'forced upon' pardew then a new manager has been in the background suggesting which players to bring in knowing that pardew was on his way out. I just don't buy into the bullish!t.....NC would not sack pardew without having somebody already lined up.....it is not a knee-jerk reaction it must have been thought through and planned otherwise it would be out of character for NC.

Tbh after spending as much as we have in the last year NC has the right to expect instant success....he may not get it but if he feels that we are not even going to come close then he is entitled to make changes to try and ensure success.

Zola would be sh!t

Tbh it isn't a surprise....no smoke without fire and the smoke has been rising for about 6 months Shame,I was just getting to like him.

Hesitant To Post This, But Me I'm Out Of Patience

I'm with you TT, having been brought up on decent football in the 70's/80's I find it difficult to accept our plight. The old 2nd division days of the 70's makeup some of my happiest memories of following my team but the championship and l1 days of recent years have done nothing to excite me.....perhaps it's my age, people my age (in their 40's/50's) have probably been spoilt as I think they have witnessed the true golden years. Even if we do return to the prem it won't be the same. -
I hope we don't host it....I prefer my world cups on foreign soil

I'm selling a line of red and White balaclavas if anybody is interested.

Southampton 1 - 1 Leyton Orient - Post match reaction
lordswoodsaints replied to Baj's topic in The Saints
I think sam allardyce summed up the problem today on the radio, talking about an expected takeover of Blackburn with an estimated £100m to spend on players.......basically he said that it's all well and good having the money to spend but if the players don't want to play for an unfashionable club then they won't sign.......perhaps we are having the same sort of problems, unfashionable club in the 3rd league is not as attractive as some think. Any decent player is going to be aiming as high as possible with a high profile club no matter how much money is offered. -
Southampton 1 - 1 Leyton Orient - Post match reaction

The weight of expectation was always going to cause immense pressure and IMO this will be our downfall, this will be more of a millstone around our neck than the -10 was last season and there aren't too many managers out there who can live with pressure. A change of manager is probably not the answer but I've got a feeling it could be NC's solution. Whatever happens it is out of our hands and probably a good idea it is judging by some of the reactions on here. -
I'm sure Frank worthington was the first back in the 70's????

I have always that Supporting saints is like a p isshead trying to make his way home from the pub......1 step forward,2 back and a couple sideways,he always makes it home but it takes a few setbacks before he does. This is one of them sideways steps. This is very sad news and it could possibly put a dent in a decent push for promotion, but behind the selfish thoughts of 'what happens to the club now' a man has died and a family has lost a loved one.

Because we are a l1 club we don't get much page space in the red tops anyway and rarely are there any photos. The only papers that go into detail is the echo and the pink,so this is obviously another swipe at them. Am I right in saying that the echo is free to sell any pictures to whoever they wish? Perhaps this is the issue,NC may be ****ed off that the echo is free to sell images and make money?? If I was the editor of the echo I would employ an unknown photographer and buy him a ticket and tell him to take photos from the stand just to **** cortese off.

A female steward thought I had a lead pipe in my dungers once, she insisted on removing it but realised she made a mistake and now she let's me in for nothing with a smile on her face.

Nothing has changed from last season IMO.....we dominate the first half and nearly score on a few occasions and then the opposition get a wind up and nick it. Same old same old. I still font doubt we will be in a promotion position at the end of the season but it isn't going to be the 'stroll in the park' that some think.
-
They only have 14 players available for their opening game so expect them to remain rooted to the bottom of the table for the whole season........every dog has their day,and that day is coming very soon.

Managers come and go,at any one time there are approximately 90 managers out of work who have managed in the top 4 English leagues so finding a new one won't be too difficult. Changing a manager doesn't fill me with fear like it does some people but the timing of the change does. If this is true then it will just be another bizarre twist in an already twisted football club. As I've said previously, the pressure this season will be too much for some to handle......perhaps the pressure has already got into the red without even a ball being kicked in anger.
