Played better in the second half, looked a different team when Barnard came on. I'll judge how our season will is shaping up after 5 league games, not after 4 pre season friendlies where fitness is the aim of the game. Some of our fans are such mongs.

People need to remember where we are. We're in the third tier, a very average league which is weaker than last season (remember we started on -10, we didn't even start playing until 10 games into the season and we still nearly made the play-offs). Any player that has played in the Prem for the last 5/6 years is going to be a great signing and would strengthen us without doubt. You have to be a bit think not to realise this.

As its the Mirror, its safe to say he won't be going to Wolves, West Ham or Blackburn then.

I know nothing concrete has linked us with him but apparently Dawson has handed in another transfer request (first one was turned down). Would be a cracking signing for any Championship side, let alone league 1.

Shame it isn't more similar in the top flight. Might be able to compete in a World Cup if it was.

Saw in the papers this morning Ipswich have rejected £100k from Palace for Owen Garvan. I believe he is on the transfer list and would be perfect for our missing man in central midfield IMO.

Do people actually believe we won't sign anyone before the start of the season? We haven't even started pre ****ing season yet. Certain people need to take a deep breathe and relax.

I expect we will put out a youth team/reserves combination side.

I know a bit about them, being my local-ish football league club. Unbelievable achievement getting into League 1, they are a conference size club and have done it on a conference size budget. As you would expect, very basic ground and half their fanbase are West Ham fans.

Forget the 'decent' job Hoddle did at The Dell. He was always a **** and always will be for his treatment of MLT. My dad was travelling back from Bordeaux to Paris after watching Romania against Croatia at the World Cup in 98 (a work freebie) and he got talking to a Romanian doctor on the train. The conversation got to England's problems and without knowing who my dad supported, the Romanian quite simply explained 'England's problem is you don't pick your best players, Le Tissier is your best player by a mile.' Sums it up really.

Someone that works for Crystal Palace told me Victor Moses is in his mid 20's. As for Adu, would be a big statement of intent if we signed him.

Does anyone know where the Mark Hughes link has actually come from? Was it just a 'heard it from a steward' or has anyone heard something concrete? Thought I'd ask as his name keeps cropping up but obviously nothing in the press linking him.
