Pards was asked on Solent about transfers after the game. He said Frimpong is a promising player but no truth in the rumours. Also said Antonio is a Reading player so didn't want to answer questions on him (didn't confim or deny if we had a chance of signing him). Then finally said he didn't want to talk about any possible transfers.

Shame you can't make it to games Apline. Then you might realise things aren't that bad and not everyone is suicidal.

Solid performance from us tonight, nothing spectacular but did enough. Carter looked decent, looks to have a good left foot and would add some strength to our midfield. Other positives were Barnard up front and the centre back partnership of Martin and Racine (both looked very strong).

Played better in the second half, looked a different team when Barnard came on. I'll judge how our season will is shaping up after 5 league games, not after 4 pre season friendlies where fitness is the aim of the game. Some of our fans are such mongs.

People need to remember where we are. We're in the third tier, a very average league which is weaker than last season (remember we started on -10, we didn't even start playing until 10 games into the season and we still nearly made the play-offs). Any player that has played in the Prem for the last 5/6 years is going to be a great signing and would strengthen us without doubt. You have to be a bit think not to realise this.

As its the Mirror, its safe to say he won't be going to Wolves, West Ham or Blackburn then.

I know nothing concrete has linked us with him but apparently Dawson has handed in another transfer request (first one was turned down). Would be a cracking signing for any Championship side, let alone league 1.

Shame it isn't more similar in the top flight. Might be able to compete in a World Cup if it was.

I know, I think we will be relegated.

Northern ****s. If Darren Purse can get into their team, they can't be very good.
