  1. The academy is the reason we are in business. We wouldn't raise any money without it.
  2. She is not a billionaire as far as i know. She is a wealthy heiress who found herself in a business persons shoes. The swiss businesses were wound up, workers state reason was bad management but all workers say that TBF. Not sure if they went through asset stripping process. She is a neighbour so i could bang on her door and ask.
  3. Thanks
  4. Pedant warning: I'm not sure one describes the daughter of a business man as a business woman, especially when you take into account what happened to the swiss businesses. I think heiress is more appropriate.
  5. How many did he score? Not seen result yet. Anyone got links to goals/highlights?
  6. If i were Cork id not be happy about being on the bench. He deserves better to be fair.
  7. Ok own up who was just on Talksport
  8. National express coach from behind asda might be quicker
  9. We will have to spend big to show ambition now.
  10. Hopefully hes better than the last CB we bought from Celtic.
  11. Talksport reporting Liverpool & SFC have agreed a fee of £20m
  12. mong-board meltdown, i hope SFC have your permission for this social experiment
  13. You can have Jos for £2m.......
  14. This, we are not even sure if they are part of RK's plans for next season.
  15. I think you are correct in that we are in negotiations with 4 or 5, but with 2 or 3 of them being the plan B signings. If we were to sign 4 or 5 we would need to be in negotiation with 8 or 9 at this stage as there is very little time to recover from knock-backs. IMHO I think we need 5, but realistically I'm expecting 2.
  16. Don't worry we hired Ralph to fix our commercial revenue woes, I'm sure he's just days away from reporting back to the office with his new strategy, clients and record breaking income streams!
  17. I think we will sign a GK and a CB who can also play LB. I expect us to spend in the region of £20m and everything else will come from the academy. The academy is our gravy train and cannot be stopped and I would think we have eyes on the summer sales following Euro 2016. We could get a few more academy grads in the England team for that competition, and as with Shaw and Lallana do some very good business. Consolidate this season, build next.
  18. West Ham fans want rid of sick-note, lol!
  19. It all depends on our ambition for this season which hasn't been stated (unless i've missed it) If we want to compete for top 10 and the cups we need 5. If we just want to avoid relegation, we could do that with 2. Not long now....
  20. Training with the team, with the kids, on his own?
  21. I've been mong-boarded. Over to the transfer thread to talk about old chicks.
  22. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fire_sale The speed of the sale is an effect, kinda chicken 'n' egg, the low price comes first.
  23. I'm sorry but where in the Supply/Demand equilibrium does "speed" enter the equation? You increase demand by lowering the price.
  24. Sell as much as you can, for as much as you can = asset strip Sell as much as you can, for as little as you can = fire sale As for JayRod, when he was interviewed on Talksport before the WC he stated that Poch was the best manager he'd ever played for, made him a better player and is responsible for his rise to the England squad. It was a bit of an embarrassing love-in to be true. When questioned if he'll link back up with Poch, he just said he's concentrating on recovery and will look at his options when he's fit again. Whether he stays or goes will be dependent on who we sign this summer. If we are not challenging in the top 10, I wouldn't expect him to sign a 5 year deal.
