  1. It was one match. Let's see the team get out of the relegation zone and maintain it before we pass judgement. Preston NE 3-1 could be just another nice blip in an otherwise god awful season.
  2. Well we know there is an overdraft of £6M, which Crouch was going to chip away at with £2M if Lowe and Wilde would match him. Then we have the Stadium outstanding mortgage of around £20M, which has helped to sift away money, but obviously has to be paid out. The rest has been loan-ins, pay-offs of old contracts, new contracts to replace old contracts - the list goes on. And apart from the stadium mortgage, most of it would have been unnecessary if, instead of trying to be cheapskate in the first place, Saints had got in experienced, good quality staff with a track record of success, and stuck with them. That way stability lies. Remember stability..? It's the sort of thing successful clubs do. And if they are not successful, they pay the price and get the right people in. They don't try to do it on the cheap.
  3. Yeah, I can see the confusion myself now. In a nutshell, Lowe and Co to go, whether or not Saints survive or are relegated; in administration or not, as well. Wotte could stay. It makes little difference either way. That would be for the next Boardroom.
  4. If Saints should stay up, and it's a massive IF; then those that have actively been responsible for setting a policy that saw the club on a course to near relegation, should leave the club, as they are quite obviously not upto the job. It's hard enough for a football club to prosper on the field, and hence prosper everywhere else, without its own leaders actually helping every oppostion that visits St Marys.
  5. I think Wotte must have had some involvement or comment, earlier in the season, because Poortvliet said that he was sick of him.
  6. Watching on MOTD and he's refereeing again at OT. Surely that shouldn't be allowed. However unbiased Webb is meant to be, he's going to get to know the players better at OT than other teams. He's just let ManU off a penalty, when it was one.
  7. This sort of thing: Usually Flashmobs are where a mass of people stand absolutely still/freeze in a public place until a whistle blows. Sounds stupid, but it can be quite effective, especially when it's a whole load of people.
  8. Yep, I'll do a rare MOTD watch for that too. Frankly, I'd like to see the guy back at SFC, but he's still too good for us. Perhaps in a couple of seasons.
  9. I take it you saw this on the Keith Wiseman thread. From Ray The Turk in the online Echo: Congratulations to Keith Wiseman.. He's come down on the side of the every day fan. At last some-one with a bit of clout knows what this is all about. While Rupert and co continue to struggle. with accounts, (the books) they somehow juggle. Board members it seems have ruined our dreams. They have stood by and toyed.. as our Club gets destroyed. Today is the time to step out with pride.. Show every-one your colours.. support your side. The board should be ashamed.. they have all sat and and sided with Rupert Lowe and what he decided. Fair play to you Keith. you've come out at last.. Youve given Rupert a nudge.. you've given a blast. With men like you on our side.. and a fan base like this.. We can tell Rupert Lowe.. "STOP TAKING THE P@@S.!!!
  10. Nice one, exit2, but you've got to put the correct password into the Netgear first and then forget it. I hadn't quite got that far, as the password was buried in the Zyxel. Didn't know that Netgear had done that specific UK design tweak. That perhaps goes some way to answering the question as to why people have an overall good opinion of Netgear routers. I never used to be a fan myself, but I have to admit that in recent years they've become very good performers and very reliable too.
  11. I've had an unused Netgear DG834 router kicking about the place for some time, but I couldn't remember my login password to my ISP. I did have it on record on an HDD, but that went west. Anyway, I managed to reveal the router password using AsterWin IE v1.03 [if that's a help to others who've forgotten theirs], and changed over the routers. But the interesting bit is that my internet surfing speed has definitely improved a bit over from when I was using my Zyxel 650R-31 router. Off the top of my head I can't think of a decent technical reason why.
  12. Doesn't he just love playing in Red & White stripes..? Not so keen on teams in blue.
  13. Southampton had its first Flashmob today in town. Apparently 100 people came together at 1pm and bashed the living feathers out of each other for 2 minutes, then disappeared. Good fun.
  14. No. That Hamster is getting far too much telly time IMO, for someone who is mildly more talented than Ant & Dec.
  15. I think this thread has degenerated enough. Ta.
  16. Indeed credit where it is due to Wotte and the players. Absolutely no surprise that TDD should start this thread, but in this case, the topic is justified.
  17. He hasn't always been, even after winning League One. Well done to Mark Wotte today, and well done to Nigel Pearson [20 games unbeaten].
  18. Hope you realise I meant his age Stevo, not how many penalties he's scored. Haven't found his penalty stats yet.
  19. What are his stats for penalties now..? I wonder if he's starting to get anywhere near his penalty tutor, MLT..? Just looked; he's 31 next week. Time flies.
  20. Totaly agree Jillyanne. It seems to be human nature to want something you don't have, and then when you have it, just want the next thing. Result..? Dissatisfaction for 99% of the time.
  21. Thankfully, I'm still none the wiser.
  22. Now that certainly would be the dream ticket. Obviously, if there is an open field of choice, we'd want someone from outside to come in and sweep away the whole sorry mess to start again. In fact, I suspect, if you asked Leon Crouch, he'd want exactly the same thing. However, if it is a choice from those who have been here before, done whatever job they could or did, and are willing to go again, then it has to be Leon Crouch. He could then preside over the club's fortunes until someone else came along, and I feel that he is more committed, not just to Saints, but to pursuing investment, and the betterment of the club.
  23. Go to it Trousers P I. Askham has hidden in the shadows for far too long. Who's Ray The Turk, btw..? Congratulations to Keith Wiseman.. He's come down on the side of the every day fan. At last some-one with a bit of clout knows what this is all about. While Rupert and co continue to struggle. with accounts, (the books) they somehow juggle. 24. And that's it peeps. I hope Ladysaint will forgive me for hi-jacking her thread, but we needed Captains for the teams, and forgotten to ask. The vast majority of the players mentioned actually came from teams A nd B. Which is understandable, as they are considerede the best Saints players. Go to this thread and look for the ©s. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=10009 IMO, the vast majority got it pretty much spot on too. Here's how they finished: MLT 3 Paine 1 Marsden 8 Case 23 Ball 22 Monkou 1 Steve Williams 5 Shearer 1 Dodd 1
  25. We've just spent the last couple of months voting on who were the best players in our opinion. It's a bit late to enter the race when it's already over. Sorry mate.
