Actually there is... Angling is a more popular sport.

Yes..! Most people [not football supporters] don't give a toss about football. Ordinary people vastly out number football supporters. Hence it is a minority interest that the majority have to put up with. In the end, it is just a person's opinion of what is entertaining and worthy. A point I was trying to illustrate. EDIT: Thanks for your efforts to educate the football following public, BTF. I understood your explanation straight away.

EULA.exe http://spywarefiles.prevx.com/RRJFGF45217/EULA.EXE.html Here's a home patch/fix from someone on a forum: If you don't want to read this, then this is the easy answer: Toolbar EULA: Toolbar EULA Oh I tried all the things you (the internet at large) told me to do...NOPE! Didn't work. I tried to shut it down with task manager= didn't show up on task manager Tried to right click and close it= didn't have that option For those of you who seem to think there is a 'button' on this page somewhere to close it= there is NOT! I uninstalled the program= it still gives me the same page after computer boots up I deleted all temporary files= it did nothing, still came back I restarted, rebooted, shutdown, did all kind of combinations of the previously mentioned= that did nothing. Oh get this all you clever people out there, after uninstalling my 'toolbar' as it were there was NO box to 'unclick' in the run/msconfig/tabs that you were talking about also I could find no EULA.EXE (until I got into the Dell/ecenter file)...but I did unclick the windows sidebar, all that = NOTHING! I went into Dell/ecenter and found the EULA and EULALAUNCHER I clicked on them and indeed these were the culprits of the page! BUT WAIT!!!! The system would not let me delete them!!! so that also= NOTHING! So guess what? I renamed the applications (because apparently you can do that without any adverse effects or rebelious systems trying to thwart you). I renamed them to crap and crap2! Yes, I renamed both applications just to make sure...SO TAKE THAT! And you know what? I restarted my computer to successfully never seeing that toolbar EULA page again. That is the easy fix my friends....and now, I bet I could delete them because the system is no longer trying to use them! Yep, easy to delete now that the system is not trying to use them!

Pretty much my views too. I find it incredible in a motorsport where overtaking is so hard to do, that street circuit races are endured. They may appeal to some romantic idea of racing, but as entertainment they are very much a processional affair. The exception being Singapore, this season, where the circuit was almost as wide as a track. But even that race was rescued by the safety car. I know I'm in a tiny minority here, but I can't for the life of me think why Monaco has been persisted with, when it has produced some of the most mind numbingly boring races over the recent years. For me, a great race involves overtaking. Not one or two stop strategies, where a split second in pitting a driver, at exactly the right moment, means that he doesn't get stuck behind a slightly slower bloke for 22 laps and loses the race. You can have that too, but it should only be a bonus, not the main event. Next season, the parameters change once again, and it is to be hoped that overtaking will become much easier. Then even Monaco may become something to watch again. Ecclestone can play with the circuits, p!ss people off, all he wants in his search for new and improved venues. But the trick is to make F1 competitive, exciting and fair. That could be done at Croft and Thruxton just as well as it can be done at new tracks in Russia. If the racing is close, and there is plenty of overtaking, Bernie won't be able to keep the crowds away. Experts can point to particular mitigating circumstances and reasons, but it's not really that Magny Cours was out in the sticks, or Montreal is too far away. F1 is expensive, often boring [and occasionally allegedly fixed, it seems] and people just won't turn up when the thrill is gone. IMO, in the present economic climate there should be a realistic financial cap on the research and development resources spent to go with the new rules from next season, so that minor teams can compete properly. I'm not suggesting A1 motor racing, but at least it could be tried as an idea.

It's very funny, but I can imagine it sh!ts them up quite badly.

Old one involving G. Dubbaya..! http://www.miniclip.com/games/presidential-knockout/en/

I suppose it has never occurred to you that football is also a minority interest. It maybe the most popular sport, but most people [not supporters] don't give a toss about it, or even like it. They consider it a waste of time. So I think there should be a little space in your democratic heart to allow for people to follow sport interests that you consider boring. OK..?

Hmm... good value. Always had a slight soft spot for Philips products. Don't know why. Perhaps it's because they're Dutch, which is sort of British, with a touch of Orange, if you get my drift. Huge range in price, I see. Comet are doing it for £179.99, whereas Dixons Online are doing it for £130. Far be it from me to recommend anyone buy anything from Dixons, but 40 quid is 40 quid..! Of course, they want to flog you the extended warranty for extra, as usual. :mad:SOAPBOX TIME  What galls me is that if we were buying any of these products in Europe, we'd get a standard 3 year guarantee. You'll note that's what you receive with any product, that requires a guarantee, that you may buy from any of the European supermarkets, i.e. Lidl, Aldi etc..., in this country. So a Philips product, which normally carries a 3 year guarantee abroad, gets shipped to GB, and is only covered for 1 year. Unless you buy it in Lidl... Aldi... Rip off Britain again. Do you think the mainland Europeans have it better than us..? Off the Soapbox. That's better...

At first glance I read that as Fran Cotton, ex-England hooker [how appropriate] and now boss of Cotton Traders. How about Fran as one of your threesome..? I'd stick to a duo.
-
Well it did have a reference to Saints for a while, but it's veered off so much towards its actual title, that I think I'll move it to the Lounge, where it can get a fresh start.

Motorsport is feeling the pinch. Well, actually Motorsport isn't feeling it, so much as F1. The big spenders of motorsport find that people are having short arms and deep pockets. The French have pulled out: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/7672931.stm I wonder if Bernie gives a toss..? He probably does. It's the only thing he hasn't made a decision in his favour about in the last le-god-knows how many years. But even this inadvertently works in his favour anyway, as he doesn't like the track. Tbh, I never liked it, preferring its predessor, the Paul Ricard Circuit. Apparently, Bernie wants a new circuit near Disneyland Paris. Personally, if I was French, I'd tell him to f*** off, and use a circuit that already exists. There's plenty of them needing revamping. The one in Montreal is available, and it's French too.

Why is that whenever there's a thread that's got past page 2, 3 or more, it descends into finger-pointing and name calling..? Can't you people see what you're doing..? Tbh, it's all been said. End. Go and PM your insults to each other.

Tbf to Colinjb's point. It hasn't hurt Massa to have Alonso winning races. And if Alonso is winning, then Hamilton can't. And Massa has gained another 2 points on Hamilton in the overall scheme of things. If it was fiction, it would be more obvious. Massa to gain 6 points over Hamilton in the remaining 2 races. I think the FIA can engineer that without too many people causing a stir. This is all alledged stuff, of course.

Quite an entertaining read, that.

All this talk of Pro Evolution Soccer has got me looking at my old copy of PES4. I've still got my all-conquering Saints team on there, halfway through a season on Level 6. Way out of date though. The only actual players that are there are Lallana and Gillet. And I retired Michael Svensson because I thought he'd never come back in real life. Of course, I may still not be completely wrong.
-
So what are you going to do then..?

I've been waiting for that comment ever since I first told the story. You lot are so quick..!

That's now 3 confirmed cases of people mistaking the IBM for a Compaq Portable, and not just guessing incorrectly.

As Scummer has showed, there are a couple around. But mainly, they're starting to get into the more committed, geeky end of the market. Down the cheap end they just want to flog you the lot, because otherwise there just wouldn't be much money changing hands. I take it your Sony speakers could take more than your amp could give then..? Have you considered plain old Stereo, or 2.1 as it is called in some quarters, owing to there being a separate woofer. It's still the best way to listen to sounds, in any case. Being an old fart, I stick with it. Few wires and decent sounds. Your wife will love you again. Consider the top two here: http://www.richersounds.com/information.php?cda=static&cst=hifisystems Have to say, Richer Sounds may not provide you with the best quality manufacturers, but their prices have always been spectacularly low, and sometimes they pull a little quality rabbit out of the hat. EDIT: Just remembered your toddler. There will be no fronts on those Eltax speakers in system 1, and they are floorstanding. The speakers in system 2 do though - hence the black marks in the speaker corners. Useful to check though.

That's been done before. I once jumped over a low wall onto a path about 4 feet lower on the other side, only for the tip of my trailing foot to catch the edge. I came down directly on my head, onto the tarmac. I sat there waiting for my brains to spill out, and then gingerly touched my scalp. Not a scratch. Not even delayed concussion. Bloody miracle if you ask me.

I'm not too fused... an appropriate typo. I'm not going to put my incredibly ancient Hi-Fi Geek hat on here, so the answer is... not really, especially if the specs are roughly the same. Watch out for impedances, 4-8 ohms nominal. And look to roughly match the power handling of the speakers. Usually, an amplifier capable of dealing out too much for the speaker is much better than an amplifier that's way under powered. If you're curious enough to ask me why, I may have to find that Geek hat, so you're been warned..! :smt117
