There is always a ying and yang philosophy though, to everything. I agree, it's easy to take a snapshot image of any situation where an existing rule or regulation has made something worse in a given scenario. To compare living in Europe to living in Iran or Syria is an obvious example of where human rights do make peoples lives better, but you are not seeing the full picture. The two latter countries have much more sunshine days per year.

Got to agree with Baj on this one. A short while ago I saw a bunch of young adults on tv and they were being filmed day and night by cameras and every now and again one of them would go missing. It's big brother gone mad.

I do think he had a pretty good point in that a bunch of PC knobcheese's will rally around OBL once he has been caught in pretty much the same way as some people were to Saddam Hussain. It goes against the grain to see someone with so much guilt getting "fair" treatment.

All you have said is correct about the two months and one months notice. The squatters rights bit does worry me as the relationship between me and them has broken down today. They managed to ask around and got my phone number from a neighbour and have rang me to say I am "petty" for not liking a tree cut down in my garden. I have to be a bit careful what I say as not only don't I want the place ruined but also the bloke in there is a bouncer and might mash my head up!!

I agree with you but it's when they get things wrong that it impacts innocent peoples lives. You are right, if you are innocent you have nothing to worry about, but once you have been locked up for 6 weeks there will be an air of suspicion around you from other people and you could well have lost your job. That can impact on families a lot.

I know they are in breach, but I just don't know what a breach of contract entitles me to, other than some of their deposit to put right a few things.

I have a dodgy family in a house I am renting out. They have signed a contract but have on two points (maybe even three) not stuck to it. Firstly they have chopped down trees and removed bushes and plants to get more vehicles in the front garden. Secondly they agreed to not keep pets but have a dog in the house. They even rang the agency the other day saying that they believed I may have had pets and they are allergic to animals so could they chose new carpets!! Lastly, as there are three all adult generations in the same house and the contract is between me and just one adult, I suspect sub-letting is also going on, though hard to prove. As they are in breach of the contract, does it mean I can waive their rights to 6 months and demand that they leave?

It doesn't matter at all, now we are in this cesspit lowering of standards country where nobody any longer gives a toss about anything.

I am just glad you didn't go on and on, making out that your withdrawal from going to a football match was of huge significance in the grand scheme of things. I am glad you never tried to make out that your own values will have an everlasting ingrained effect on anyone in the world connected to your gene pool as that could come across as slightly egotistical.

All goths and other people that dress to shock are a laughing stock and I for one enjoy doing just that at them.

I don't use anything but I suppose I would draw a line at whether or not the product instantly changes your appearance and only while you have it on, i.e it's makeup. If you are using a product that over a two week period "mends" your skin and removes dark patches, then that is more a medicine.
