Exactly this .. seing pictures with him and Martin with the tags our boss and our captain is making me think hmm maybe ..if the club know he’s going there’s no point causing disappointment. but trying to think from his perspective if he leaves he gets premiership football but he will be having to sacrifice being the poster boy and main man. We absolutely persisted with jwp it wasn’t until hasenhuttl that he really became a decent player.. down to him if he wants to just be in the premiership or a total Southampton legend

I’m starting to now wonder maybe he will stay, some of our media stuff like pictures with Martin with (our captain) getting the hopes up maybe. But unless he gets a really top offer he might be better staying here., no other club will treat him as the poster boy like we do, he’s probably not gonna make England team either.. is it worth leaving the god like status he will have if he stays for some mediocre prem club ? if he was to join a West Ham and it doesn’t work out his career could drop of pretty fast .. not the easiest decision

Think we need to put our foot down somewhere along the line .. make a plan who we actually are happy to sell and who we want to stay .. not just everyone can leave if it’s a option. players like Alcaraz and sulemana especially have only just got here .. and should be giving us at least one full season ., im sure if we say how ambitious we are and tell them they are a key part in us getting promoted first time they will get their heads down

Yeah not very promising.. looks more like a figure to negotiate with Burnley more then a hands off price tag .. We should be doing every thing we can to keep him .

Must be pretty tricky for us to recruit at the moment as a lot of our needs depends on who goes ..needing new cms seems a given though .. still think keeping hold of tella sulemana and Alcaraz is absolutely key if we do that we probably don’t need any surgery up front

I just don’t know why didn’t keep the chevrons down the sleeves .. it’s missing a open goal to only put them on the shoulders .. the new Denmark shirt they absolutely nailed it .. it’s still pretty nice kit but a tad disapointing as it was so easy to be perfect

I loved the original 80s version .. this is still nice and I might still buy anyway but there is something a little bit not quite hitting the spot .. I think it may be that the sleeves don’t have the Umbro arrows stunning all the way down .. doesn’t the new Denmark still do that ?

Not sure why that needs to turn into personal insults but ok 😕 What I’m saying is true though he does get confused and that’s probably down to awareness, processing situations quickly and knowing what to do in them.. which is why I said slow in the head look at the wolves miss or the one in the cup where he could have got a hatrick it’s not just technique as he’s just as capable of fucking up headed chances too

I think it’s partly mental and awareness problems with che though ., maybe a bit slow in the head when he’s in good positions he tends to get confused panic and everything goes to total shit .. instinctive finishers like ings or lambert kinda know what they are going to do early and are aware and don’t panic .. che on the other hand looks surprised he’s got a chance and his body language is like wtf do I now ?

Yeah I think with adams we know what we are getting ., call me old fashioned but I think I’d prefer a clinical centre forward even if he goes missing when not scoring . Then one who puts a shift in and gets involved but can’t finish .. Shane long had good aspects to his game also with onuachu and Mara we don’t really quite know what we have on our hands as much as with che.. onuachu obviously isn’t a fast pressing machine or anything but we haven’t really given him the service to test his finishing abilities .. in the championship we will hopefully be creating a a lot more chances for our strikers so mara or him could actually feast if given a decent amount of service

Not sure I agree on this, for me people like che above the others because he does get into games more. In other words he puts himself about has the hold up play aspect to his game and doesn’t just go missing.. but In terms of being clinical he is absolutely ass I’d definitely expect mara to be more clinical if your creating many chances for him. now we have dropped down a league and might create more chances for our strikers it might be better to have someone who can finish those chances rather then just to put a shift in and be involved

If that’s the home shirt take my money .. probably up with the rank xerox as best shirts we had .. and the mock up probably looks even better then the original 😍

To be honest we don’t even know how good he is .scarcely used and when he was hardly got any service anyway. it’s not like he missed a ton of sitters che style His job his mainly to finish and we never gave him nothing to finish .. it wouldn’t have mattered if we bought prime christian vieri if he gets no service

To me it sounds likely now, what with the anniversary as well and that they pretty much said we would get this shirt at some stage .. what was it you heard again stripes but not in a traditional way ?

Yeah I agree it’s tactical but I don’t think it suits us .. think jwp would work much better in a 3 man midfield and like said leaves us relying on fullbacks to create anything or get the ball up the pitch .. I think you still have to say though considering how we are basically attacking with the full backs and tens that kwp has been poor from a attacking perspective he’s getting enough of the ball to surely make things happen sometimes but a big fat zero for assists

Jesus Christ.. jwp does not have it in his locker to drive forward with the ball or get us up the pitch by carrying it .. surely you know that .. and kwp has one fucking goal and no assists even though being one of our primary players on the ball in and around the box . So yes where is this end product you talk of ?

But lavia is basically sitting deep ., neither him or jwp are carrying the ball in the opposition half ..like verlaine says above we are relying on our full backs to carry the ball in attacks .. and tbh for a player like kwp who has as much possession as he does with the attacks flowing through him very often and also around the box in dangerous areas to get zero assists is shockingly bad.. should be getting some even by accident think you need to revaluate him being one of our best players as he’s created nothing

Absolutely and perraud sees a lot less of the ball then kwp too.. Our attack actually runs through kwp a hell of a lot .he’s been used almost like a wide playmaker when we are in possession .and with all that possession has contributed next to nothing bar keeping the ball and twisty runs. at one stage he was getting hyped up that he was on par with TAA and Reece James etc but they are absolute goal and assist machines whilst kwp flatters to deceive .. to be honest if he goes he goes .. bring on livramento

Like I said because of the imobility of jwp and the 2 man midfield kwp is relied upon as one of our main ball carriers ..for all the possession he had he managed one goal and no assists! is that good enough ? It’s not like he’s not in dangerous areas he’s all around the box .. but instead of actually doing anything majority of the time just does twists and turns .. only time a decent passage of play happens through him is when he twists and turns and passes back to jwp to get a cross in

Maybe a controversial opinion since most love him .. but i think kwp has been another big problem in our style of play .. with the two man immobile cm pairing used most of the time last year the two cms have trouble carrying the ball, therefore a lot of our attacks run through kwp- trouble with kwp is he is so so Indirect and twists and turns and twists again and dilly dallys on the ball,only many times to play it back to jwp anyway .I think he slows down our already tedious slow build up play even more and gives opposition defense even more time .. u hardly ever see him just make a direct run and get a cross or shot in, it’s always twist and turn and twist and turn.. like I say I think a lot of this starts with the 2man mf behng so immobile but I think kwp doesn’t help much here I think your more likely to get something from perraud over kwp in terms of end product and stats say the same even though both poor.. but considering how much of our attacks run through kwp I just wanted to comment on it

For me selles was much worse . im in the one percent minority that didn’t mind jones.. at least he was trying different things, changing formations.. probably getting close to playing ourbest 11 in a 4231 near the end at least he was trying to change it we were not in the best shape when he took over so results not going to plan isn’t a total shock by the time we had got the reinforcements at the end of January he gets sacked and then the whole window was completely wasted The hate from the fans realky got to jones which made him kinda dig his own grave with the press conferences .. the ironic thing is most of the hate came because fans thought we were above hiring the manager of little Luton .. now they are in the premiership while we go down . You couldn’t make it up

We want 40m apparently.. it’s really hard to weigh up his value tbh.. as a free kick taker he’s probably best in the world it’s a world class attribute that can win you games.. As a in play cm he’s not fast and dynamic enough to be the best n that position but he’s probably solid enough and puts a shift in especially if he was surrounded by other players who can do the things he can’t.. I mean beckham wasn’t the greatest winger that could beat people for fun but like jwp had the delivery and in the right team could make him a match winner
