Actual score line is more important then whether you think we are playing some Barcelona football or if you think the other side had the better of the game. we are usually losing matches after che missed a sitter.. and then some bazunu error at the other end.. don’t know what you expect nj to do about that. He can’t turn bazunu into Peter schmeichal and che into shearer suddenly.. we are in with a chance in most matches at least let’s see if the new additions can now do their jobs and turn these tight games into points

Not so much celebrating losing games by one, but it is a valid point. We have been close and competitive in most games. But when you have no clinical striker,and bazunu who lets most shots in even if they are are streight at him .. im sure you acknowledge we are at a disadvantage in 50/50 games where chances are few and far between, hate to think what would happen if jones took a 9-0 spanking like Ralph 😆 burn him at the stake Re formation, yeah like said above I think 433 is the best for us by far at the moment. But the 532 also allows us the 3 in midfield whilst also having two up top.. it’s possible to keep che in the line up or even play sulemana off onuachu personally I’m a bit sick of 442 and having no protection in midfield after years of Ralphball so maybe I’m just happy it’s a change

The mob come out for every loss here don’t they.. we have only lost by one goal every loss since Brighton-FACT. No one is battering us unlike they did under the forum favourite Ralph. Now we have a hopefully decent striker hopefully that extra bit of potency can turn these close games into points .. im not totally against the 5 at the back either although I do prefer the 4-3-3. 5 at the back still gives us 3 cms though which I think suits us. Otherwise we tend to lose the midfield battle ….interesting to see how we line up with new signings I’d go 4-3-3 and drop che but if he wants to keep him in we could see more 5-3-2.. personalky I’m more optimistic under jones then I was Ralph over his last year or more.. Was reading quite a bit of French comments on twitter regarding sulemana.. a lot of comparisons with doku both meant to be frustrating as hell.. Rennes fans seemed to prefer sulemana, tbh couple of times I saw doku he looked breathtaking so I’m kinda excited by the two being compared so much.. expect him to be raw as hell and did read he had a bad attitude and very individual in his play but think he’s gonna be exciting.. onuachu: seems to be able to finish from watching the vids and not just good in the air.read a report about him which suggests he’s also actually pretty damn fast and one of his strengths is his pace, all sounds pretty good on paper but we gotta hope he can make the step up now.. overall though at least we actually got a striker in the door and sulemana is a nice bonus. Isn’t it funny how the last two transfer windows are comically going exact same way,a lot of us predicted we wouldn’t go for striker till the last day.. we could have activated vitinha’s release clause on the 1st of jan if we wanted him but just like gakpo wait until right until the end., it’s also looking totally weird the way most of the window has us penny pinching for cheap players.. we were even lowballing on Orsic for about 5 mil when he looked a total bargain anyway .. but then we seem to get the 30 m links at end of the window just like last time that never happen.. it’s all a bit fishy really 😵‍💫 how can you just keep making same mistakes and not rectifying the problems

What do you mean buy a striker that doesn’t exist???there’s tons of strikers out there.. don’t be fooled by the clubs lack of ability to seal a deal. we are in the shit it’s not about players who will want to join or not,we have to make that happen by paying the price the club are happy to sell at,and paying wages high enough and maybe better then our competition to seal the fucking deals. It’s not rocket science pay the price they will come.. Unless we change this and stop our we won’t be held to ransom ways we will continue to get gazumped by every other club in the league over to you sports republic get one of these Vitinha dembele onuahu types and we may have a shot it’s that or relegation

It’s difficult because we seem to get a nosebleed at the thought of paying over 20million or the thought of paying out decent wages like West Ham did ings.. I see they are going for ener Valencia now. surely at this stage instead of buying 3 or four players like we seem to have tried for this window including Alcaraz and Orsic etc. wouldn’t you be better clubbing the money together for that one player (a striker ) then it is to be signing two players like hjulmand and sulemana? the board need to stop being little boys trying to play in a mens league and pay what it needs to get the striker if that means signing less players why not do that then ?

Actually midfield looks better because he’s decided to go with a three man midfield which was something Ralph seemed allergic to trying.. also his decision to play jwp in the more attacking role has also been a good one.. he deserves credit for these decisions

Dunno about the strong and aggressive .. but he was the fastest player at the World Cup and faster then mbappe… that said he’s still more of a winger then a striker so I’m not big on this deal unless we get a cf as well.. looks more like a alternative to Jackson then anything

I do get you but Lavia jwp and Alcaraz should be the starting 3 . So it means wasting transfer budget on someone to cover Lavia for 30 mins a match , when diallo is capable of doing that and tbh we don’t even know if he’s better then diallo until we sign him.. Cm is our strongest position currently.. but we have absolutely sod all in the terms of centre forward.. I want the budget spent there and if we have to add anyone else a upgrade on bazunu would be next on my list these are the two positions affecting our results not centre midfield.

Except we don’t need hjulmand as we have lavia jwp Alcaraz and diallo and sulamana is a winger and not a striker don’t see Antonio happening way too old for us apart from that great ideas

J breezy is fine with me, gives us cover at fullback and is a player jones obviously knows and trusts… cheap as chips and doesn’t put a dent in our transfer budget,much better then going spunking 10m plus on a fullback when we have a quality striker to pay for as priority, what’s not to like really ? not sure why people still want a dm? Seems to me lavia diallo Alcaraz and jwp is plenty enough for midfield now that’s actually a quality first choice three mids we even still have amn if really down to the bones.. a bit off topic but think we need to give Orsic the cup games to get him up to speed, agree it was a poor debut. But my guess is he just needs to get up to pace he’s got far too much pedigree to be a total flop, you don’t score hatrick vs spurs, and goals vs Chelsea, and the beautiful goals vs West Ham and morocco if you don’t have something about you, he is the best finisher we have atm so worth getting up to speed and perservering with.

Thought there was some good performances, Alcaraz looks very good seems to have a bit of everything couple of nice through balls like the one for MR sitter to fuck up and also agile can tackle looks a class act.. diallo also very good in my opinion put in some good tackles and broke up play well. think Adam Armstrong still has his uses he’s very good when pressing as his speed allows him to be on the player in seconds he’s not the answer to our striking problems but I get the feel he could come good if he gets his confidence up and he does have real pace, needs through balls to run into which Alcaraz seems to have in his locker. I second whoever said they don’t wanna see che adams play for us again,, such a brain dead clumsy oaf with zero composure ..people pointed out his scuff finishing in the YouTube vids too.. if we can see that wtf are the scouts doing..if we do get a striker (doubtful with these braindeads in charge) composure and shooting technique over anything please .. what’s gabbi doing these days ?

Wasn’t it Manji that said we messed up a couple of deals for attackers in the last window with semmens haggling over a couple of million?? Looks pretty believable now after the way we have handled this Jackson situation. Bournemouth showing us how to seal a deal. get the impression it’s more of a priority for us to get perceived value and underpay on a signing then to actually find the players who will make the differance I mean what’s better to underpay by a couple of million on some average player or to overpay by a couple of million on the player you actually want and think will help our survival ?? hands up I was never a fan of the Jackson deal and thought the money would be better spent on a cf, but if the club have scouted him intensively and saw him as the next big thing it’s annoying to miss out haggling over a couple of poxy million.. all I want at this stage is us to target the players that are gonna get us out of this shit and be a bit decisive like Bournemouth just did. I’ can’t really believe the incompetence that we still are not having any serious striker movement. the only links at the minute Jackson and the danish midfielder seem unnecessary additions, surely one of Alcaraz and hjulmand would be enough as both won’t be starting! Exactly, since the Brighton game we have only lost by the odd goal each time,we are competitive and in every game. But in games that come down to the odd one or two chances a match for either team we are totally fucked with adams and bazunu.. The chance adams had yesterday just before kwps disallowed goal was another example of his laughable finishing he finds a way to mess up the easiest chances like it’s a art, then you have bazunu at the other end he doesn’t look confident, hardly saves anything and has made a ton of errors costing us points this season, I can’t even really say I’ve seen a game where I thought he was decent today tbh..watching Martinez in comparison he looked a total class act perfect judgement when coming out to intercept our through balls. any manager is gonna struggle with these huge issues either side of the pitch. Jones is showing promising signs with his tactics and flexibility to switch formations, but unless we do something about the above problems it’s gonna be difficult to get results just to add it’s the first season where we have relied on che as our goal scorer (no ings or broja to bail him out now) and the first with bazunu .. Ralph couldn’t get around it either it needs sorting

Jeez what a fickle bunch on here.. the problem isn’t Jones the problem is we are severely lacking at both ends of the pitch, we have a striker in adams who can’t finish to save his life, and a goalkeeper at the other who hardly saves anything.. jones setting the team up well doesn’t help as when we are in fifty/fifty games such as yesterday we are at a huge disadvantage because of the above .. the changes jones made yesterday had instant impact and led to the disallowed goal.. he’s right in what he’s saying we are losing cos of small margins but this is because we don’t have a striker and a poor keeper.. this needs to be addressed but I’m losing faith sports republic will
