  1. My personal favourite is the Covent Garden Hotel (http://www.firmdalehotels.com/london/covent-garden-hotel which is just behind my old office) fantastic cocktails too. Followed by the Atheneum on Piccadilly, The Metropolitan (which is still nice), St Martin's Lane Hotel and the Royal Horseguards.
  2. My word they are retarded replies which have probably been written by angry, hormonal 15 year olds. I'm sure most sensible older skates don't care?? Players are friends with other players, lower league players will be happy to be seen with an international player (career enhancement and all that). It really is no big deal and as someone further up said, Beattie had plenty of mates that played down that end of the M27.
  3. Surprised you got that much. Thick portsmouth dinlo
  4. Irony my dear, irony. Lost on you obviously. How are Watford doing?
  5. Agree with this. What is the bloody point? I'm not being funny as yes, it is someone has died; especially this person in question. But, I don't get the craze with going on Facebook and Twitter with the, "OMG, Mandeela is dead, rip, great man" [sic]. 1. You're trying to make yourself look like you care when you really want brownie points for "caring" 2. Someone like Mandela at 95, wouldn't really give a toss about what a load of teenagers on Twitter think Rant over. Sad times, yes, sympathies and best wishes to his family.
  6. Good posts Delldays and Turkish; couldn't agree more with both. We always knew we had a good core team, but any injuries (to any of Boruc, Wanyama, Lovren, Morgan, Shaw etc) meant we'd be less likely to keep clean sheets and break up opposition attacks.
  7. Damn it, 97%, 1 wrong. "The car beeped at Jon and me" ... damn. I'm genuinely annoyed by that!
  8. I'll say it again, I wish people would just block or ignore them all - reading enjoyment is much better when you cut out the dross and only see posts from those who are erudite on the subject.
  9. Give over. The man is an absolute cretin and about as erudite as a fat slug that's had a kilo of salt poured on it. Utter (as the Sun unfortunately pointed out, hypocritical) moron
  10. That's why he and others are now blocked, my reading pleasure of the forum is vastly heightened by removing their dross and only reading from those who add something.
  11. I thought you were good at this English stuff??
  12. I imagine it would be easy to get frustrated with Lovren for not playing the long ball forward to Lambert to knock down to him. He should be annoyed!
  13. Ormerod (loads of effort) , Kanchelskis (pacy wide man) and Davenport (defensive lump). Easy.
  14. For nostalgia ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kY0LQCfrjFA and (Golac features in this)
  15. Well before Sky Sports came along, if you couldn't make the match in person, the radio, or Ceefax was the only way to know what was going on. Sky have invested a LOT of money in to football and whilst it is tiresome, some of the things that have happened, they can't be blamed for trying to protect their investment.
  16. We are batting above our supposed average and where many think we'll finish. If we stay in the top 5, that would be a stunning season and completely unexpected in anyone's eyes. If we ARE to stay there, I do think we need a little more depth, simple as that. A centre back to compete with Lovren and Fonte and another creative spark who can play a killer, defence splitting pass to compete with the guys at the front. That'll do me. Arsenal will, I think, win this league, although it'll be silly to write Man City off obviously. We were unlucky today in some respects and on another day it could have been 0-0. Hey ho.
  17. Actually I also thought Cole was good, much much much better than Baines. And Gibbs. He really is an exceptional left back. Smalling is horrible.
  18. Perfect summary in my opinion. Was gutted Lambert didn't replace Sturridge to at least allow him and Lallana to try to link up.
  19. Christ! Our's went on in September!!
  20. I presume people jump on the Henderson-hate bandwagon are basing their opinion solely on the fact that Liverpool got mugged for £20m, which at the time was a huge amount of money for him. Have they seen him play recently I wonder? He is a good player who will be (I'm sure) a very good player over the next couple of years.
  21. Am I alone in thinking Lallana was really good? Lallana, Milner, Cahill and Rooney. I'd start those 4 against Germany. It's weird, this was a match where it was obvious to see how good Rooney is and how he's in a class of his own in the England team, bar perhaps Gerarrd. Add Gerrard to the 4 above and that'd be quite nice.
  22. Johnson is an awful right back. Jones is, not a very competent centre back. Baines isn't as good as Cole. Lampard, "bless him", should step down now as he's looking past it. JRod, unfortunately, isn't ready for this. I like the idea of continuing to see Wilshire, Rooney, Lallana and on current form, Milner. Shame Gerarrd isn't playing today.
  23. That's the most wonderful sentence I've read for some time! I just hope we can keep this up as a club.
  24. No. Puncheon is a very good player and had a great purple patch for us last year and as tw*tty as it feels to say this, we're now playing beyond his "level".
  25. Everything.
