Yeah, Olympiakos, that'd do (and with Puma, I like their stuff again); http://www4.pictures.zimbio.com/gi/Olympiacos+FC+v+FC+Schalke+04+UEFA+Champions+gm8drs9cn2_l.jpg

No no no. I don't really like stripes and like the current kit, but if we *have* to have stripes, then red shorts would be good. Sunderland have black shorts and it looks a little messy and old fashioned. Stoke have white shorts. Would quite like us to stay more red.

I think she was implying there would be an inevitable persecution and/or cleansing of patriots and various smaller ethnic minorities that remain. Military is out of the question, but sanctions is what she implied?

So, I often read the debates on this forum without really getting involved now and form my own opinion based on the views from all sides - and some of you do like a rant! So a simple question; should Britain "intervene" in the Russia & Crimea situation? The reason for asking is that a good friend of mine who descends from that part of the world feels Britain should "do something", I disagree personally as I honestly don't know enough about it and also, I don't think we're "powerful" enough to do anything.

That looks very good, but read this bit; "speciality shops, offices, leisure venues, apartments and waterside attractions." Erm, isn't that exactly what Ocean Village was???? I remember when it was built and they said the same about the speciality shops, they had the penny arcade, there were offices, bars and restaurants etc etc. Then they bulldozed it.

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/documents/61210-hospo-brochure-new-web148-869934.PDF The box is too expensive - you can have individual seats for £245+VAT (I think), but not sure why you'd do that and share a box rather than do the medium two packages which are half the price!? Also, in my opinion/view, corporate entertaining could possibly generally be on the decline due to a) cost savings within companies and b) people not wanting to fall foul of company bribery rules. I get people wanting to take me to all sorts of events, but my company policy is that I'm simply not allowed to accept any of them. Same at my last company too. Oh and also, there is competition from other places. I.e. you can do a "hospitality package" at South Western House for £50 (nice food and drinks) then sit in a normal seat in the ground for £38!?

I have some great memories of living there when I was younger and then again post-uni (on Archers Road), but I wouldn't move back to any city. I did live in Bournemouth for 6 years though (I know it's a town) and despite some of it being a bit of a dump and a pain to get to, I would consider Bournemouth again - maybe when I'm 70 though.

I could not disagree more with your analysis. “Although there is a solid foundation in place, the Club still has tremendous untapped commercial potential. We will continue to nurture “The Southampton Way” by reaching for consistent growth in all departments to ultimately build a culture that allows Southampton to remain healthy and sustainable in the future.” I read that totally that they want to grow more revenue streams and that by doing so, they need to invest (still) in the club. Once investment is realising benefit, the aim will therefore be that the club will be self-funded and not requiring significant capital investment on an ongoing basis. No?

Thanks for typing that up. I kind of agree with not bothering to send players out on loan, but ... it really does require a better U21 league or rather a proper 'B team' league. Attract the punters, get them on some obscure TV channel etc etc., I think that is all that is missing. I think the only doubt in that philosophy is that some of the players just starting in the first team (i.e. Reed) and also players like Isgrove are not making the bench, so would it hurt to send them on loan for the last 3 months to be roughed up a bit and then back for a full pre-season??

The best Saints team/ squad in my lifetime

Anders Svensson when on form would have been brilliant in our current side!! Michael Svensson alongside Dejan scary. -

Oh and was surprised Lovren wasn't sent off for that 'tackle'. -

Very very solid performance against a tough tackling team that really tried their hardest to get something from the match. Sort of match we'd normally buckle and concede, so very pleased we got something out of it. Surprises today; 1. Our passing was well below our usual standard 2. Ince - unaware today of what the fuss is about 3. We only scored 1 Very pleased. Jay MoTD for the goal. -
Gerrard was immense - one of the best players! All the Liverpool players were good and you could tell they are high on confidence and bang on form. Add Lallana and Shaw (also bang on form and high on confidence) and you had a really good recipe. Sterling will be some player. I don't know how much QPR got for him at the age of 17, but it wasn't enough!!
-
+1 Agree wholeheartedly
-
Why? The "Liverpool lads" are second in the league and absolutely flying. Wouldn't beat against them pulling a sly one off and winning their first league since before Souness dismantled a very very good team. Our lads are great, but to compare the two sets is a little weird. I would have liked to have seen Shaw start though. I think we'll see Lallana for the second 45 and perhaps Jay for 10 mins.

Couldn't care less now. We're definitely finishing 9th. Champions League, Europe League, FA Cup, Relegation battles, who needs it. We can finish 9th and be safe.
-
Lukaku, Benteke, Michu, Remy. All players that we should push the boat out for if we really want to push on. Although there are bound to be European players that will crop up that I'm not aware of - any of those 4 would finish the amount of chances that we create!
-
Yep, agreed. And for the benefit of others; I love our youth policy, it is amazing, but the fact that we are trying to push them on so much is concerning - the odd player in the team who is 17/18/19, far enough, but not loads of them. It almost feels a bit like the "Dutch Duo" all over again at times. We really need a couple of quality signings if we were to push on (Striker, centre back, goalie/back up goalie) which can supplement our youth policy and help them grow as players. But if we are to also push on as a club, we need a mix that is higher in ratio of quality signings.

England call up FOUR Saints players
Patrick Bateman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
And you don't need to leave Saints to get in the squad ... -
Is that just for one post and one gate?? That is a lot! One of my fences in my new house blew down and I did the lot again with concrete posts - 12x 6'x6' panels, 13x 8' concrete posts, with concrete boards at the bottom cost me £1500 - done in two days, brilliant job and good value too compared to some of the other quotes I got round me (in Fleet).
-
Totally agree! But that's the trouble with the internet - a selection of odd people who just want to wind others up and those, who would still be moaning if we won every week and were top of the league.
