  1. Yes, it's his birthday today!
  2. ... for another 2 or 3 weeks while he has a holiday along with Dejan, Yoshi and Boruc.
  3. That's my one bug bear - I'm not fussed about kits, but I hate black shorts. Navy shorts would be great, failing that, red.
  4. It's 'Alpine Scouser'
  5. It's SO absolutely horrendously vulgar, that I love it! I know, that's pretty weird.
  6. Wasn't it "refusal to play" rather than an all out strike though? Very different situations. You'd presume he'd want to train to keep fit/in shape to make himself attractive to other teams, which wouldn't be striking. Also it would belittle what many people have fought years to have the right to do ... mind you, this is the guy who thought his presence would make some poor children have a better life after visiting ... ! Mind you, his "refusal to play", didn't he do that in the last few matches of the season anyway?? Additionally, the guy's a d!ck.
  7. Remember the huge cheer from us travelling fans when he did this at Fulham? http://images.supersport.com/2014/2/Adam-Lallana-140201-Celebrates-R300.jpg What a massive turd.
  8. No they don't - they are guessing as much as we are. "Saints’ players report back for their first day under new boss Ronald Koeman with bad boy Dani Osvaldo expected to be amongst them."
  9. This. It's all so clichéd, it's funny! Club want player, club offer wages, player wants more wages, player knows club has more money, player's agent name drops other (bigger?) teams in a bid to make it look like player is doing club a favour. Yawn.
  10. Wonder if he'll be turning up to report for preseason training today??
  11. What is the point of undisclosed fees? I've never got it.
  12. Spot the fans who have only known/experienced football since Sky Sports and the "Premiership years" ... sigh.
  13. Les Reed (25th April); "“We want to retain the players we’ve got. They are all contracted. They all have existing contracts and we intend for them to honour those contracts. Any enquiries we get will probably be met with a ‘no – not for sale’."
  14. My proudest internet moment! (Sorry Minty)
  15. Wouldn't say no - quality player, but probably still too expensive for us. Can see him turning up at QPR ...
  16. But Clunge disagrees with you, so as that's not 100% of Saints fans agreeing with you, you're wrong.
  17. Why do you come here?
  18. Agreed - that match he was brilliant and we've seen flashes of it since. I do feel that Pochettino perhaps didn't favour him for whatever reason - probably just because Gaston didn't suit his style of play? Is there a Uruguay/Argentina rivalry?? (Clutching at straws with that one) But hopefully we'll see him more next season, I really hope so - will be like having a brand new £12m player
  19. What a f**king boring match, actually started to fall asleep. Smalling shouldn't be a football. Wilshere is a bloody wimp and needs to man up and stop falling over. Milner is slow. Lampard is now on the way out. Don't get the fuss with Barkley. Sturridge is okay. Lallana not playing at his best from last season. Shaw looks good! Yawn.
  20. Yes, thank you. The top post said exactly that, thank you for repeating it ...
  21. Well he would be far better than Johnson, you can't possibly deny that? And no, Lukaku has a lot to learn, he can be an exceptional player, but last season the system didn't suit him and he was more often than not, anonymous for Everton. There is a reason Chelsea keep loaning him out and have slapped a ridiculous price tag on his head, obviously they get this too. He will be good, but we can't afford a) his price tag and b) to carry him in games he goes missing.
  22. We need a colour that 100% of people support ...
  23. Because we live in a Christian country that is still predominantly Christian (N.B. I would put myself in the 'no religion' bucket, for your info); "In the 2011 Census for England and Wales, 59.3% of the usual resident population (33.2 million people) identified as Christian. Muslims made up the second largest religious group with 4.8% of the population (2.7 million people). A quarter of the population (14.1 million people) reported they had no religion." [2011 census] To the second point, most people like having a Monarchy; "Britain would be worse off without the monarchy say 69% of respondents, while of 22% say the country would be better off. This 47-point royalist margin is the largest chalked up on any of the 12 occasions since 1997 on which ICM has previously asked the question." [The Guardian] Additionally, the Star Spangled Banner mentions 'God', the Italian anthem talks about God, Flower of Scotland talks about ancient wars with the English, the Irish anthem talks about Saxons, even La Marseillaise talks about slaves, fighting and war etc. The point is, none of them are very relevant, they are just anthems. Our's might not be the best, but it still belongs to us and I (as do many) still enjoying belting it out.
