Fraser Forster Joins on 4 Year Deal - Official
Patrick Bateman replied to Wrensup's topic in The Saints
Agree with this too - very sensible of Saints. Boruc had to fight for his number 1 spot at Fiorentina if memory serves me well and duly got his number 1 spot. Competition is good. They'll be fighting for that spot, but I do agree it's Boruc's until he does another Cruyff f**king turn in the penalty area -

What to the board need to do to gain back the trust of the fans?

Unfortunately this is true I think. Those who think the club is being sold won't budge from that opinion now, despite what happens. -
I think we can expect them down here for the weekend to do medicals and sign.

Ahh Marching In! + Dave Currie on the Uni server dishing up the "official Saints Website"!

Katarina Doesn't Want To Invest Anymore In The Club - Krueger

I don't see the problem with this statement. Look, we're a 'provincial' club who was batting above its weight for 27 years in the top flight. Finishing 2nd once in an era where football was so different it was unreal; I mean, signing Keegan is like us signing Messi, Ronaldo or Bale now, right? It's mental! We have never and will never have the fanbase of Man Utd, Liverpool or Arsenal. They are the 3 defacto top clubs by power of revenue alone. Chelsea and Man City have joined them by ridiculous injections of cash and in the case of Man City, have fallen foul of the FFP rules. Even when we had the Dell with "unlimited" standing, 30,000 people was our max. Sure, for a big game we could pull 45/50000, but in these times of austerity, that would be once or twice a season. 30/35000 is about right for us and we're about the right size for a mid-table club who occasionally gets some amazing players (last season) that could propel us higher. Many would argue Pochettino should have done better with these players ...... But, why should we expect her to pump in her own cash? She has a self-sustaining, mid-table Prem side who make fluke the odd appearance in Europe and that keeps producing top class talent. The trouble with a lot of Saints fans is Sky; the Sky generation. -

Rickie Lambert - Dream to Nightmare?
Patrick Bateman replied to georgeweahscousin's topic in The Saints
Agree. I want him to do well there, but I just don't think his ego is big enough to fit in. -
Great post Norm and really good to see the pictures again - I remember looking round in the build days with Essruu; think we all had sandwiches in one of the cabins if memory serves me correctly?? I'm an eternal optimistic, but on the pessimism, I genuinely believe that many people have bought into Cortese's guff about Champions League in the various press releases, like the players did. Yes it's a good dream to have, but it's simply not going to happen for the foreseeable future unless we spend hundreds of £ms on players or keep our next Bales ... oh ... I'm of the opinion that we've got a good enough team to beat at least 10 other teams in the league and have a decent cup run. Outside the top 7/8, the rest of the Premier League is a much of a muchness with a couple of stand out poor teams. We could finish anywhere from 8th to 14th - I'm sure it won't be boring though and we'll see some good football which we as Saints fans now enjoy.

Interesting - that was my one annoyance, that it seems to have delinked my accounts
-
I still don't see why that was useful? If you're after 1 or 2 tickets, what does it matter whether there are 500 or 5 seats left in a block? I have to say that the new version is MUCH better and more usable than the old one. I breezed through when ordering for West Brom, despite the silly password reset ...

I agree with you.
-
Koeman hasn't said anything to deserve that. What planet are you on?!?
-
I don't think many of us believe a word they say anymore, which is sad. However, I DO think this team will currently do okay as there is so much dross in the league.
-
Agree with all this. I think we'll see a (quality) centre back come in this week, ideally two. If we also sign another forward as backup, then that's fine. Samaras may not be wonderful, but he'd be good backup if Pelle was injured and until Jay Rod comes back into contention. 2xCB 1xForward player 1xGK (lower priority) Sorted and possible, in my opinion.

Thank you for explaining where the confusion arises, now that makes sense. Although I still stand by my other post (that, so what, it's for skinny blokes unlike most of us so you buy bigger - it doesn't matter). But sleep deprivation f**king sucks.
-
But it's not real though is it? It's just a few words, on a screen - you don't (I presume) even know each other's names ... !!
-
FFS, can't you read either? Look at the quote that was applied to ("most clothes shops the gear is a least one size out")and read the other post I made. Jesus f**king christ.

Hmmm ... "Body fat percentage for your top professional soccer player is typically below 10%"
-
Read what I wrote earlier and don't take it out of context, spanner. In fact, I'll put it here in case you can't be bothered to scroll up; "I'm not being funny, but the shirts are made for ultra lean footballers. These players are superb athletes, generally, with a minute amount of body fat. Most football fans are not lean. So do you want to see loads of men and women looking like a fat f*cking mess in their normal size, or do you want them to buy a size (or 3) bigger to hide the rolls?" Additionally, the online store tells you the chest size you need to fit the chest. But if you look at the design of the shirt as it is DESIGNED FOR ULTRA LEAN FOOTBALLERS, it is a very slim fit tailoring. Ergo, if you want something to hang lose over your belly, you need to go with a bigger size. It's not rocket science, nor is it a rouse to make more money. FFS!

Where will we finish next season? Poll please mods!
Patrick Bateman replied to Jonnyboy's topic in The Saints
8th to 12th; the other teams, i.e. those not 'top 6' really are average and we should be near the top of that pile. + A cup final appearance.
