Spending minimum on credit/debits cards?
Patrick Bateman replied to Barry Sanchez's topic in The Lounge
No it doesn't have to be - that's stuff like Starbucks on your phone, but it's not a problem as you can do it while queuing, remotely, on your phone, no cash needed!! The limit on my card for contactless is £12 per transaction. No problem as of yet and if it's more than £12, then a card is fine. -
Spending minimum on credit/debits cards?

You're all weird. Who on earth carries cash?? I NEVER do now. I pay on my phone in Starbucks, I use my contactless card in places like Pret, I order everything I need online using PayPal, I pay taxis by card, I use an Oyster card on the underground and on buses - I can't actually remember the last time I needed cash? Okay, one exception, nights out. I normally take out a few notes and find they're gone by the next day, so no cash again. -
I really don't have time to read many posts on this forum, but I am interested in what's happening with the skates. Is anyone kind enough (please) to provide a concise update of what the latest is and what the informed opinion is? Am sure others that are similarly busy will appreciate too, thanks!

Newcastle 4-2 Southampton // Post-Match Reaction
Patrick Bateman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Never a penalty, but I'm wondering if the rules have changed?? He was running forwards, arms swaying as they do when you run with energy and the ball hit his arm ... I thought it was harsh on Fox and he shouldn't be blamed for that, in my opinion. We will smash QPR. -

Bingo - they are a very good team and are for some reason currently in a false position this season. Seriously, a point would have been good for us to get, but we never do well up there and they ARE a good team. First half we looked like we really had two weeks without playing - it showed. But Newcastle are a good side and will/should be top 6 next season again. I'd love to sign Tiote - wouldn't happen, but hey ho. -
I would take Tiote if he were available.

Christ!! Guess the distance makes a huge difference then - mine was a grand or thereabouts.

I've got the movers in this time - was impressed with the price and it's SO much easier than doing it all yourself. Got quotes from Pickfords, Whites and a more local firm - ended up going with the more local firm as they actually seemed to have more about them, care more and are, well, local!

Jesus, forgot about that - I actually have the CD in my collection still as well!!

That's totally different, you complete helmet.

Suffer with what? Eating a better quality meat that's lower in fat and higher in protein than they thought they were buying?
-
I know, I'm just being facetious as usual!

I can tell you there may or may not be some goals in the match.

Does no one think he could actually be waiting to see if we stay up before he commits himself further to the club?? It's obvious really in my opinion.
-
hah! Not just me then! Incredible midfielder, exactly the kind I attempted to be when I was younger and failed miserably at. So good to have seen his development over the last 5 years!
-
I said that too, him and Wilshere would be really good together when Gerrard and Lampard hang up their boots.

That was incredible, absolutely incredible. There were some times when I had kittens, but Man City are a quality side with some quality players, so to prevent them playing like we did was impressive. I want to talk about the back 4 as defensively there was some extremely good tackling all round. Richardson with some crucial tackles when he came on, Yoshi outstanding again, Jos solid, composed and large and I thought Fox had a great game too. He seemed to be playing different, so he may well learn from Pochettino, who knows, but he did well tonight. Couldn't really fault anyone in the whole team today - they look like they are playing for each other and for the manager according to his wishes. Very very impressive stuff.

What are the nice areas around Southampton, Winchester?
Patrick Bateman replied to Spudders's topic in The Lounge
You can't honestly suggest he moves there from Bournemouth. The A326 is bloody awful, even worse now they've duffed up the speed limits and introduced weird layouts - bloody horrible road and will take him ages to get to Winchester. It used to take me ages in the mid-90s when I lived with my parents down there to drive to Winchester, rubbish commute. I grew up in Blackfield/Langley and was "Hardley" educated - although that's now a stupidly named school isn't it?? Anyway, to the original poster - I travelled from Bournemouth (Southbourne) and Christchurch for 6 years up to Basingstoke and Hook every day. Was stupid really. Then I got divorced and moved to North Hampshire (village just outside Fleet) in 2008 - best decision ever. Waterloo is 40 minutes away (from Fleet I mean), Winchester is 30 mins on the motorway and you're generally going against the flow of commuting traffic which is a bonus. Don't be put off by Basingstoke either - it's had/having a lot of money pumped in and apart from the original duff areas, there are some great houses at good prices. But I can't recommend Fleet enough - quiet, but enough bars and places to eat, plus loads of great proper pubs in the surrounding countryside. If you really want to stay round that area down there, then Chandlers Ford is meant to be okay isn't it? -
Depends how fast you want. These aren't the fatest, but are fantastic fun. I bought one when they came out in 2001, had it for 3 years and even though I've owned several great cars since, I would still like one of these again as a runaround - the noise when at full revs is amazing. This one seems like good value and has had the belt done, looks tidy, alloys look good too. You can tell it'll be well kept as they have a tidy driveway and garden (seriously, it's a good indicator of how they look after things). Plus being Japanese it should be reliable for years yet. So I give you; http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201301295107928

Ah, I can reply again! All the places I'm recommending are on the Pest side. Buda is for tourism, Pest is for eating, drinking and stuff. Okay, so for a hotel, I would stay at the Hotel Danubius Astoria (where I can be found every 6 weeks for a week at a time), http://www.expedia.co.uk/Budapest-Hotels-Danubius-Hotel-Astoria-City-Center.h6139.Hotel-Information, it's cheap, but it's actually quite nice and the best thing about it is the location - it's really not far to walk anywhere as it's really central. It's on the corner of Karoly krt Rakoczi ut. The other hotel that's not a bad location but is more expensive is the Kempinski. It's a decent enough 5-star, comfy etc., but I prefer the Astoria, feels more like "old" Hungary - and you get free breakfast (just croissants). So bars. About 5 minutes walk (up Rakoczi ut. ) is Szimpla Kert (http://www.szimpla.hu/) which is probably one of my favourite bars. It varies every night - Thursday nights is the best usually and it doesn't really get started until 10am. It's chilled out and in the summer when you're going, the garden (kert) will be very nice. It's also one of the only places open late Sunday and Monday nights. Wednesday night, head to Corvinteto (https://www.facebook.com/corvinteto) (all the way up Rakoczi ut. at the next major crossroads) - this club is superb, I've been there until 5am most times. It's on the roof of an old department store from communist times and the stairway up is amazing - covered in graffiti. The area it's in isn't wonderful, so don't go straying around in single numbers. Corvinteto is almost totally non-English speaking, you will only see locals in here, caning away. Do not buy shots (except Palinka), they'll cost you a packet. Between Szimpla Kert and Corvinteto is Doboz (http://doboz.pm/) which is a decent bar too. Lots of outdoor rooms, different bar areas and some cracking Palinka. If you fancy going where all the uni kids go, go to Morrisons 2 (http://www.morrisons.hu/morrisons2/) - there is a great Turkish place to eat if you've got the drunk munchies next door. Further down near the main downtown the Basillica is great to see during the day and during the night. In the summer, there are outdoor wine bars by the Basillica at night and the place is full of chilled out people drinking outdoors. On Zyrini Ut you have Otkert (http://www.otkert.hu/) again, another chilled out, outdoors bar. Good mixture of people in here, students, tourists, regulars, etc. Between the Basillica and the Kempinski hotel, you have Deak Ter which is open air, loads of bars, loads of people, loads of women wearing next to nothing, loads of alcohol. Food; Behind the Kempinski there is a Vappiano - I go there sometimes - nice upstairs in that one as there are sofas and more room. On Raday Utca - about 5 mins walk from the Astoria again, there are LOADS of bars and pizza places and other places to eat - all dead cheap. All the pizzas are good - Pizza and a bottle of wine, about £7, it's ridiculous. On Baross Utca about 10 mins walk from the Astoria is the Stex Haz (http://www.stexhaz.hu/) - I like it here, great, really good Hungarian food and SO cheap - I took my team of 12 out last time - 3 courses, wine, beer etc for 13 people ... £98. Seriously, it's stupid! (But it's out the way of tourists) If you want tourist places, then head down from Otkert to the chain bridge and there are loads of pizza places along the river banks. Then at night, it'll start to fill up with women who will, er, "want money". There are loads of places to go - like I said, Buda is great for tourism, but I know nothing about the night life over that side. Watch the taxi drivers!! Regulation is crap over there, so if you jump in a cab off the street, prepare to be stung. You're better off calling one from where you are (most speak English - I think the 222 2222 one is the best company??). At the airport - don't get a taxi driver from inside the building, leave the airport and there is a little booth outside - give you address to the girl in there for a fixed-price cab to downtown - normally around 4500-5000 ft (10000ft is about £30). It is really cheap there, if you go to the right places. In Szimpla etc, you can still buy a beer for a quid. But just don't buy stuff like rum. If you want shots, stick to Palinka and Unicum. Think that covers it for now

I REALLY wouldn't bother with the superhub, it is complete cr*p. I've still got the original modem/router combo and sent my superhub back. It looks nice, but it's bloody rubbish. Also, I don't understand the need for broadband bandwidth to be honest - I've still got the 10meg package and even though they've upgraded to 30 now, I don't notice any difference, but I guess I wouldn't - all I do is work from home, browse the web and that's it.
