  1. Yes and it's true. When someone who is a good leader comes in and replaces someone popular, this always happens without fail. I start a new job in March (still got another 2 months notice to go, grrr) and I'll have a team to win over as well. Was just reading this actually; http://realbusiness.co.uk/article/17026-the-5-mistakes--youll-make-as-a-business-leader I think the Don should take note of point number 1 ... "Acting like a mini-dictator will do you no good, and in the end, your ambition might be your downfall."
  2. Exactly. Anyone who has seen a popular Director, CEO etc., been forced out the company and replaced with another will go through the same. You are gutted as you enjoyed working for the former and wish them the best if you see them and all that, but once the new guy comes in, paints a new vision and is the sort of person who can get people's attention, then you start thinking; "Yes, I like this guy, I like his vision, this could work" and you do your best to make yourself known.
  3. I don't think that would have happened anyway - no right-minded Saints fan will do that.

  5. This seems to be the case now - not a bad thing I guess, it's probably opened us up to players we may not have known about before. I think Moyes alluded to that in his interview actually? As long as we do actually get some of them in.
  6. Well I didn't realise Jose Fonte's younger brother played for Espanyol!!
  7. Another nail in the coffin for football and loyalty. If it happens, I can promise I won't set foot inside SMS again.
  8. It'll be complete balls. If there has been a discussion, it's probably around a general coaching role - he's a defender isn't he? Or he might have been talked to regarding a player he knows for references or he could be coming in to coach a specific player etc etc etc. If there's ANY truth in it, that's my guess.
  9. In all honesty, I think it would be a shame if he went back so soon as I don't think we've seen enough of him. However, we don't train him day in, day out and the fact we've hardly seen him must be telling us something ... he's not up to it. Certainly from what little I've seen, he's no where near as good in as many areas as Jay or Guly.
  10. Whole team, brilliant. Everyone played their part - Morgan, Shaw, Cork and Puncheon stood out, but everyone else each played a crucial role - brilliant come back.
  11. He was bloody amazing! Some of the tackles, interceptions, runs, passes - fantastic stuff!
  12. I was probably on a similar train to you, that's what I saw as well.
  13. What with David and his weird font stuff and you and your golf stories, you're a right pair. Actually would be pretty amusing to be in a pub with both of you!
  14. This is a great idea in my opinion - a proper multi-purpose complex and something Southampton doesn't have!
  15. I'd also like to add Blur @ Hull in about 1997. Was never a huge fan of them, but went along anyway and it turned out to be quick a good little show. Song 2, as you'd imagine was the highlight.
  16. By a long long way ... Elbow. My god, I like some of their stuff, but I wanted to sleep during the show it was so dull - no "show", no audience interaction, nothing.
  17. I think we've all had them. You're browsing a film in the video shop (in the 80s) or Blockbuster, or now online (Netflix, Lovefilm, Virgin Media etc.); there isn't much you fancy and you settle on something that sounds okay, not expecting much. I've just had one of those experiences with "Some guy who kills people". It was labelled as a horror with black humour, but it sounded intriguing and we gave it a go. Have to say, it wasn't a horror, but it was a very good film with a bit of black humour - really enjoyed it! Any other films like that? (Not well known, that you didn't expect much from, but were good)
  18. Prodigy in Brighton in '92 were amazing. Oasis great in the past.
  19. How do you know that?
  20. American COMPANY, not country.
  21. This is totally true. Working for an American country it never ceases to amaze me that they are always coming over and buying last minute Arsenal tickets to watch some Prmeeeer League Soccer [sic]. It's a losing battle when there is the demand there.
  22. What about parking in the streets round (for example) Erdington and getting the train from there - that'd be okay I'd have thought, free parking, short train ride?
  23. It's just about strength in depth isn't it though? Adam is still injured, we don't know how long for. Were Ramirez or Puncheon to also get injured, we're then down to De Ridder starting, probably. You have to move, you have to get better than what you have as well. If this guy is better than Adam, or Puncheon, then we move on and improve. Sentimentality has pretty much gone from football; results-driven business and all that guff - but we have to do the same as everyone else which is constantly improve.
  24. Yeah, didn't you know? He's going to be reporting to Jason Dodd as his assistant U18 coach because he always looked up to Doddsy as a player.
