Yes Ralph. -
Looks like it's time for the "relegation price 2019" thread.

This season is another weird one. Personally I think this mob led by this manager will have just about enough to stay up THIS season. Next season, if this promised summer revamp doesn't happen with some decent money spent, we'll do down. -
Absolutely!
-
Absolutely agree with this. I want to watch enjoyable football, with youngsters coming through, backed up by some older pros that still care - almost in the 80s/90s "Saints way". I don't want us to be spending over the odds and recruiting mercenaries, and I don't really care where we finish, as long as we regularly give the big teams a bloody nose, get the odd cup final and maybe win one. The odd European tour would be nice too As for Stephens, he made one mistake, but he has improved under the new manager. However at 25 he's old enough not to be youth and man up to his mistake and not do it again.

You assume that Rodriguez wanted to stay at Saints.
-
0/10. You tiresome c*nt.

Football, as we know, is broken.
-
No, it's done, we'll stay up and have the cash in the summer to sort this out; hopefully there WILL be deals done early on ...
-
I like him and he's a good player, but he isn't Morgan or Wanyama at their peaks for Saints.

When Cedric plays, we surrender leads ....

This guy is utter utter garbage, far too poor for top flight football in England. Dreadful.

Leicester 1 Saints 2 - Post Match Celebrations

Agreed - so long as it's a bit more reigned in, he can be as assertive as he likes, giving someone the occasional whack won't hurt! -

16 years????? -
Whilst I agree we shouldn't get carried away, to see the visible impact on the pitch of their harder work is brilliant. No longer second to every ball, no longer puffing away looking out of condition, no longer a team of individuals getting frustrated and getting cards, better tactics, meaningful substitutions, etc.

Really??

I'd agree - I think the couple of times I've done this are because I've been drinking, too much, before - generally with no food / evening games.

The premier league is still a bag of ********, but I'm happy to go from moaning to being happy - massively fickle, me
-
Agreed. Got to love fickle football fans

What a bizarre article ... -
Hoping Valery can push Soares for his place. No harm in having them fight it out!

Ryan Bertrand not a fan of Mark Hughes...
Patrick Bateman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
I agree in parts. It is easy to have a pop at someone once they've gone and look back in hindsight and it is also classless on the basis that Hughes (and previous managers) were trying their best. Just happened their best wasn't up to standards of winning. I'm happy Bertrand is pleased, but my message back is "get fit and get on the pitch and make up for the last 2 years and put in some outrageously good performances" -
Saints 3 - Arsenal 2 - I should start threads more often

What a difference a manager makes. The same team that I (we all) berated a couple of weeks ago were suddenly FIRST to every ball, got stuck in at challenges, weren't fouling so much (out of frustration) and putting in a huge amount of effort. The style of play was so different and I was gripped from start to finish - haven't felt like that in ages. I'll even forgive the nerves of the last 5 minutes as it was good to feel that again. Valery is going to be an excellent player and unless Soares suddenly improves as well, he could be hard to displace from the team. Bednarek was excellent, I am still confused as to why he was over-looked before, but whatever, fair play to him for doing a great job. Well done Saints, brilliant! -
This is pointless. If you go by the table; Man City - where they should be Man Utd - under performing (no shock under Mourinho) Everton - under performing (no shock although loads seem to think Silva is some sort of god) Liverpool - OVER performing! Spurs - massively over performing The rest, where they should be bar Fulham.
-
Great news and as it should be - at last, a proper Manager again!
