  1. Whilst I agree we shouldn't get carried away, to see the visible impact on the pitch of their harder work is brilliant. No longer second to every ball, no longer puffing away looking out of condition, no longer a team of individuals getting frustrated and getting cards, better tactics, meaningful substitutions, etc.
  2. Really??
  3. I'd agree - I think the couple of times I've done this are because I've been drinking, too much, before - generally with no food / evening games.
  4. The premier league is still a bag of ********, but I'm happy to go from moaning to being happy - massively fickle, me
  5. Agreed. Got to love fickle football fans
  6. What a bizarre article ...
  7. Hoping Valery can push Soares for his place. No harm in having them fight it out!
  8. I agree in parts. It is easy to have a pop at someone once they've gone and look back in hindsight and it is also classless on the basis that Hughes (and previous managers) were trying their best. Just happened their best wasn't up to standards of winning. I'm happy Bertrand is pleased, but my message back is "get fit and get on the pitch and make up for the last 2 years and put in some outrageously good performances"
  9. What a difference a manager makes. The same team that I (we all) berated a couple of weeks ago were suddenly FIRST to every ball, got stuck in at challenges, weren't fouling so much (out of frustration) and putting in a huge amount of effort. The style of play was so different and I was gripped from start to finish - haven't felt like that in ages. I'll even forgive the nerves of the last 5 minutes as it was good to feel that again. Valery is going to be an excellent player and unless Soares suddenly improves as well, he could be hard to displace from the team. Bednarek was excellent, I am still confused as to why he was over-looked before, but whatever, fair play to him for doing a great job. Well done Saints, brilliant!
  10. This is pointless. If you go by the table; Man City - where they should be Man Utd - under performing (no shock under Mourinho) Everton - under performing (no shock although loads seem to think Silva is some sort of god) Liverpool - OVER performing! Spurs - massively over performing The rest, where they should be bar Fulham.
  11. Great news and as it should be - at last, a proper Manager again!
  12. Ralph Hasenhüttle und Danny Röhl e i e i o Mit und umlaut here, an umlaut there, here an um, there an um, everywhere an umlaut ... I'll get my coat ...
  13. Why aren't we first? Les Reed out. Oh.
  14. Richard Dryden Olly Lancashire Jannick Vestergaard (on current form)
  15. The squad is bloated, but the decent players within the squad have a) not been fit and b) not been playing anywhere near the level they can. If Hasenhüttl can't get any more out of them then yes, I'd agree with you. But I honestly think this squad should be good enough to be finishing in the 8-14 range with all the other average teams in the league, rather than in dross portion of the league.
  16. To be honest, I think ANYONE (other than the previous 2 managers) could see their fitness levels were utterly utterly dreadful, especially when you watch them against Spurs.
  17. The attendance was abysmal. Are Spurs fans 'protesting' about the new ground? I've not been close to the detail so I don't know.
  18. They are all utter f**king garbage. But where is Bednarek? Is he dead!?
  19. Dave Merrington's worst nightmare....! Yes, you OVER pronounce the U. Hass-n-hooo-tle. (the 'ooo' is sounded whilst making your mouth shape like a 'you' sound - hard to describe in text) Happy to be corrected by someone fluent in German though
  20. It's also been said in the various reports people have posted that he won't play 4-2-2-2 straight away unless he's happy he's got the players for that formation. He won't have the players for that formation. We'll probably get a 4-3-3 or even, 5 at the back to start with. He knows he needs to sort the defenders out.
  21. To be honest, if he gets them fitter, organised, not making silly defensive mistakes and does proper substitutions, that'll be a huge margin better already. You never know, Arsenal at home could be a first home win for over a year as the players want to impress ... Maybe I'm dreaming.
  22. Who cares what they think, a large portion of them are part of the problem and can do one.
  23. Definitely the skates. 100%.
  24. He's still sh*t then. He's exactly the sort of c*nt the club should be shipping out, even for free, get rid.
