  1. hee hee. Listening on the radio..
  2. For all the talk that we've overpaid for him I think that's a very apt description of what he brings to the table. Either way, interesting times..
  3. Why? Does our bench have more comfortable seats?
  4. Wasn't that goal after he came back after being dropped by Branfoot? Branfoot didn't look very happy in that clip, did he, which is strange considering MLT had just earned the side a point.
  5. Will I be able to buy a couple of tickets on my own season ticket or do I need to borrow someone else's number?
  6. I was there When Benali scored, I was there When Benali scored..
  7. There are a number of pubs with gardens or tables outside..:-) The bar staff may not notice.. Suggestions will cost you een pils. :-)
  8. Not sure if it's been discussed on this thread, but the costs of setting up new systems is going to be juicy: contractors and lawyers must be hoping... Many years ago I was involved with large customer based systems being integrated, and that was "fun", but separating out data as well as establishing new administrative systems will be even more "fun". It's an expensive process, particularly unravelling all the commercial relationships (licences, contracts etc.) and I'm not sure where the money is going to come from to do this.
  9. It'll never reach the level of last year's (or year before?) Portsmouth calendar where only one player was left by the time February arrived.
  10. I'm sure they'll cope, but they'll still be moaning and blaming the English for everything that isn't quite as promised.
  11. The Itchen stand has good views and is where the players come on to the pitch although 2 seats next to each other may be difficult to come by as they are mainly season tickets. There tends to be a few more available at a lower level nearer the pitch. The Northam stand is home to the noisier fans, but they tend to stand all though the game... how tall are you?:-) If your hotel is in the city you'll be able to have a few beers before the game: ask for more advice nearer the time!
  12. I hope you don't use Goatboy on all the forums you belong to...
  13. There are obviously greater costs in servicing a small population in a large and peripheral geographical area. No doubt businesses currently take a bit of a margin hit in servicing less well-connected areas (the West Country even?) which they accept as they are attempting to be seen as a national business and it is not worth the bad publicity in being seen to be trying it on. But when there are even further cross border costs involved: and at the moment we don't know what those costs will be - VAT, paperwork, standards, labelling? - we just don't know, why should they maintain cross border pricing. We certainly don't do it with France or Ireland etc. There may be very little difference beyond what is already observable - prices vary between different branches of Tescos or Wetherspoons sometimes - and competition should keep them to a minimum, but there will undoubtedly be some impact.
  14. :-) I didn't know Trousers was a passive masochist though!
  15. Brilliant! Somebody log on and tell them we'll try to help the process on Saturday..
  16. Yeah, I remember it. Another 4-0 would be nice, just to hear another virtuoso perfomance like that!
  17. No, he hasn't changed. He's still a ****.
  18. One of many accurate observations, Bearsy. Perhaps after he got his dream move he let himself go? Maybe that's why Welbeck looked so fit: he wanted to get out of Man Utd? Anyway, I think the OP should have a few gems by now..A bit of cut n paste and they've got themselves an article..
  19. Dank U vel! If we do, come over for the last game and I'll buy you een pils + noch een pils. No idea about the spelling, I'm afraid..
  20. S'OK Mystic; we're just a bit suspicious of illiterates round these parts.. :-)
  21. Just been doing some research on having a day out in The Smoke. Return ticket from my local station £39.50. Return from the station 4 minutes down the line £23.70 with travel card for my day out and to get me to Highbury & Islington.. Day return to station 4 minutes down the line, £2.80. Something seriously amiss with our rail system if there's a £13 difference!
  22. So basically you're saying there should be more support for grass roots football? I agree. My team could do with some more practice balls, poles, bibs.. which reminds me, I must contact Monk. Most of the girls support Portsmouth but it would be dangerous to contact _them_ as it would probably cost us too much...
  23. Consider yourself one of the unsung heroes of this thread. We all have our part to play in chuckling at the screen, peferrably when the boss isn't around..
  24. Yeah, but at least Spike was joking...
