A classic. They also get a physio in occasionally; like my amateur women's team. Always a popular gig..

He looks a little raw, but that's hardly surprising at only 21, but the power and drive is something we could really do with to add the other qualities our team already has.

Lucky he's not from Zimbabwe..

Surely we do deals based on a total cost to purchase, like when you buy a house or car you have to budget for additional costs? Agents work on behalf of the players and receive a percentage from them, so if a player feels loyalty to his agent and that he is worth it they can pay any additional sum. If the club have set a limit on what they'll pay - all costs included - that may be where the hold-up has occurred. I suspect, like in the situation with that Dutch player, that Cortese doesn't like attempts to retrospectively add costs and would have made the club's position very clear from the outset.

It's alright, he can learn to fry his own Mars Bars..

Bet Joe Kinnear is counting his blessings..

I see others have already picked up on this point, and it'll be interesting to see what will happen if they don't. I still have the programme from the boxing day match against Exeter: doubt if they'll be getting 30k crowds anytime soon.. I'm still tempted to dip in to the world of betting as 66-1 for relegation looks tempting.

And that's why they're stupid...

You want sympathy _here_?

Hmmm, yes. What if they go pop and don't complete the season? Is there one of those strange rules - Rule 4 or summat? You can see I don't normally bet...

I'm not sure Inter have the financial clout: just seen an article in today's Calciomercato on Inter ( http://www.calciomercato.com/inter/caciomercato-inter-duncan-blocca-l-arrivo-di-un-grande-centrocam-193830 ) which talks of 'risparmio' (saving) and 'spese contenute' (restrained spending) and no mention of Banega.

What's Richard Nixon doing in that photo?

Oh gawd, I'm losing my "PTS Nutjob" status!

Can't see it myself Rallyboy. Whilst they might get a taxi firm in Portsmouth to allow a leeetle credit, or the programme printers to be one match in arrears on payment nobody else is going to extend them any credit, and no bank is going to grant them anything other than a nominal working overdraft (if that).

Never stopped me....

He could probably move faster if the ears were pinned back a bit.. On second thoughts, having seen the video they probably help in some way: one of the more impressive Youtube videos we've all been fooled by...!

That's great Tokyo! To be honest I was laughing _with_ the poor b*****s..

Misheard lyrics - otherwise known as Mondegreens - from the mishearing of a folk song - The Bonny Earl of Murray - "and hae laid him on the green"...

I'm right-footed and it's definitely a lot stronger but I'd be embarassed if I couldn't use my left reasonably well, so I'm always slightly surprised when professionals can't perform better on their weaker foot. My short stay at left-back this season wasn't due to my weak left but lack of speed, so back more centrally I went... Fortunately Clyne and Shaw have the pace I lack.:-)

Anyone else not exactly thrilled by Lovren?
suewhistle replied to 110_Persaint's topic in The Saints
"Anyone else not exactly thrilled by Lovren?" The problem with this is that it's what in legal terms would be called a 'leading question' or, in SW terms, an 'Alpine question'. There may be problems in the way he plays, but you seem to have jumped on all the negatives. A bit of blah, blah, blah, and then you say you are 'left with a bitter taste in my mouth'. 'Can do much better' and then a facepalm... Perlease! Why can't you use reasonable language? "What do you think of Lovren, doesn't he look a bit error prone?" and we could all have discussed it reasonably; after watching 4 hours of videos, naturally... As it is, yes, you come over as a troll and a bedwetter, and I hope my explanation whypeople think that will help you improve your posts here. -
So looks like we'll be getting cheap dodgy shirt copies in the future then, with our expanding Asian market? :-) You never did sort out those PTS Nutjob ones..

Ready reckoner on who Saints can buy players from
suewhistle replied to Giordano's topic in The Saints
You sure you didn't edit your original post -"even Lyon"? No, good analysis. It's also interesting that all our signings have obviously been given the same story of ambition: Lovren "I’ve spoken a lot with the Chairman and the coach, and this is a great project. ,SNIP> I have it in my mind to do something big, and I see the same thing in the Club. We are a young team, and I am a young player also so I hope I will stay here for a long time." Time for someone from Serie A perhaps? Presumably, like the rest of this bloomin' economy, football works 'in nero', and now the Guardia di Finanza are clamping down perhaps working abroad holds more interest. Boh? If only there were a decent Italian restaurant in Southampton!
