I was going to use that joke! Luckily I read the whole thread first after I popped out for a short while. I could tell something had happened by the number of extra pages!.
-
You couldn't re-order those words so that they actually mean something, could you? As an EFL teacher I'm used to people mangling the English language and working out what they mean, but there are limits...
-
Greetings and welcome. We still think we've got the bestest thread here though.
-
Perhaps you should put that up on Universal Job Match?
-
I think you'll find it's good value, and laughter is very good for getting air into the lungs and de-stressing..
-
Or a nipper goes with his football club team mate to St. Mary's.. we might even get as far as Cosham!
-
I'm going down to a social club in the village tonight - just to the East of Pompey - and I'll ask that question: all sweet and innocent like..
-
His reports are barely readable. I couldn't bear it if he wrote the ones for Saints..
-
:-)
-
'Baring its teeth', unless you are talking about Pompey's attack, which is toothless, and now in a glass on some bedside table.
-
Cheeky b****r!:-) I do, I do, although I make no claims as to being any good, and I'm old enough to be most of the team's grandmother. I haven't got the lungs anymore, and I never had the control, but we've a forward who certainly would be skilful enough, if only she were a little taller. Alton Leisure Centre tomorrow if you want to check. ;-)

You sad *ucker, you're listening to Radio Solent. So am I!
-
I know I shouldn't laugh, female solidarity, and all that, but this thread continues to give good value..
-
Well, not with your type..;-) Oh, and I forgot. What about my gloves? As a general point, it's interesting how you start off as a forward and in low level footie (pub teams and the like) end up as a goalkeeper. With a few exceptions of course, like Parkin at Fleetwood... [Thanks to this thread for that classic photo..]. How long before Portsmouth...
-
That article raises a few interesting questions... do I take my screw-ins or my moulded?
-
Wouldn't mind a day out in The Smoke myself, but Sunday afternoon means other commitments: I won't even be able to go down the pub to watch, and I'm sure it's the same for many others.
-
Based on my experience that was probably GS. :-)
-
Yeah, but you've had the training here, surely?
-
Yep, my mum and dad came from Eastleigh (Spike Island and Nutbeem road), so I'd quite like that too. :-)
-
I hadn't seen that before, but once again I feel I get my £5 worth from this thread alone. Just had a fit of the giggles and snorted tea, ya b*****ds! :-)
-
That made I laugh!
-
England player to become first openly gay footballer?
suewhistle replied to Glasgow_Saint's topic in The Lounge
Or excited.. -
I'll interrogate them at today's game especially for you! :-) It was an overheard conversation at training: maybe someone was lending them season tickets, or had invited them and was paying. The odds are that Pompey's cash flow was not improved...
-
How many actually paid? I think a few of the girls in my footie team were going, although they didn't sound too excited about it. Given how much they struggle to pay subs/match fees I can't imagine they actually paid..

From The Guardian internet commentary: "78 min: Lallana is a footballer. He knows what’s up. He has to start. He’s not fazed by all this. [snip] GOAL! England 1-0 Denmark (Sturridge, 82 min) Daniel Sturridge is treating Wembley to that silly dance and well he might, because he has just diverted an almighty amount of pressure that was about to be placed on England’s shoulders! But while he scored the goal, it owed so much to the brilliance of the brilliant Adam Lallana. He had the ball on the left and looked like he was going to cross with his right foot. But he’s better than that. He dropped a shoulder, completely duped his marker and dipped back on to his left foot, before chipping a cracking cross to the far post, where Sturridge rose highest and sent an unstoppable header back in the opposite direction and into the far corner. That’s a really good goal and it has been coming. Updated at 9.42pm GMT 9.42pm GMT 85 min: For me, Adam Lallana is an England starter." :-)
