Can't be. You didn't say "FACT".

To see a record cup final score??:-)
-
Just had a quick look through the p2p stuff to see what the scores were. Not one stream in any format showing the everton v pompey thread. heh heh, welcome to non-premiership anonymity (and income). You're going to have to rely more on your gate income now... Oh.

A youth team player on 130k per annum?! I saw a similar list for West Ham and their young players, albeit with a squad number, were on 400 a week, £20,800 a year, which seems a bit more like it.
-
Perhaps they didn't think there was any threat. perhaps they have more sense than you, or than you give them credit for?

Knees are a pain. I'm lucky as I've never had real problems and at 55 I'm still playing off the bench (and training twice a week). But I also ski regularly, so have pretty strong muscles around the knees and thigh, which probably helps. If I can afford it I might try and do a bit of riding this summer, and of course cycling always helps. Whatever else it is definitely worth doing additional knee strengthening exercises.

I live about an hour from Turin, in the area where they shot some of The Italian Job: tell me more! Plus I was in Cagliari and Bologna for 90. I have my England flag ready just in case I need it this year. I don't think I will, but it'll be fun if I do!

Oh, for Christ sake. It takes something for a middle-aged woman to get upset about all the po-faced people posting here, but pleeeese. I accept the players aren't going to parade with their little kiddies with people on the pitch (and the piccie I saw with a player and toddler was just great), but any of you who thing that there is tremendous harm on going on a pitch after the last game of the season really need to get a grip. I presume you're the sort of people who can be sacked by a company without a murmur of complaint just because you were told off. Look, we're not advocating a riot and burning down banks, but a bit of good-humoured exuberance is surely something to be welcomed. It's all part of being a fan and enjoying the experience.. That would be Swansea or Cardiff then?

Thanks TopGun, you must feel you're beating your head against a brick wall sometimes. FWIW I'm an ESI pensioner (electricity supply industry) and I remember when I joined all the propaganda about nuclear energy being "too cheap to meter". Hah! How come the governments of various hue have managed to sell off all the best bits of the industry but not the (unanswered question) nuclear reprocessing and storage part? Personally when I return to the UK I'm going to make an investment in PV panels and an inverter able to "island" my supply, so that even in the event of power outages I can still charge up my batteries or electric vehicle (on my budget probably an electric scooter or push-bike)! I just don't trust the sources of power available today. either politically (Russia etc.) or technologically (deep sourced oil a la Louisiana blow-out, Brazil, the falklands in the future..)

I really don't believe ML wasn't there just because we weren't going up. He doesn't strike me as a "toys out of the pram" sort of person. (Unlike some residents on this board)... -

It's my equivalent of a weather report: absolutely nothing at all! I think the intention is to stimulate action at the game and hence posting on here... -

Drinking a glass of moscato, which has the advantage for afternoon drinking of only 5% alcohol: very refreshing. -
It's up there now on the OS.
-
Brilliant! We can reduce their pay and conditions even more than I thought and they won't complain or go on strike!
-
I reckon they should reduce the pay and condition for squaddies. They're only public servants after all, and with the current government debt crisis we could save an awful lot of money. If they don't like their terms and conditions being reduced they can always get another job.
-
Oh, and an additional thought: the BBC blogger yesterday was talking about an investigation. I'm sure everyone agrees that one is necessary, but as things move ahead, CVAs are drafted and debt figures change I'm sure HMRC will be having fun looking at the books and disputing the original SOA. Don't forget the legal cases against Saggy, Mandaric and Storrie: all interconnected, and I bet some bright spark who wants to make a name for themselves is itching to dive into the fictional world of Pompey's accounts.
-
I reckon this is close to the truth. Much as we would like to know now, HMRC play the long game. As the Leeds example shows, they can be quite sneaky with last minute appeals. The FL will also be mindful of Leeds, Luton, Saints etc and I think it inconceivable they won't penalise Pompey. Finally the revenue of the new club is going to be pitiful. Parachute payments diverted directly to football creditors by the FA (and/or already borrowed against anyway?!), a little bit of CCC (or maybe L1) TV revenue and the ticket sales from what, even in the Premiership against top sides with big away followings were less than our L1 crowds.

Depends what comes out from this! "Full investigation will take place of old co."

So February £60m-£70m of debt, April £120m in debt, now (let's be specific - 6th May) £138m. Let's do a sweepstake of what it will be when the final creditor's meeting takes place. Can Android prove the validity of these figures? They seem to have gone up an awful lot on his watch....
-
It's also provided me with a tongue twister to use with my Italian students of English. They always have problems with "w"...
-
"Only the fans and the players have been punished." Avram, please... The players and yourself are part of the problem.
