  1. Sh^t, have I missed something!!
  2. Westerly Centaur? Anyway, shame on you going sailing in footie season. I shall be doing housework or lesson preparation or something and popping in here. Wish I felt confident but I don't.
  3. The Waterfront as some have mentioned but a bit further away there is The Junction at St Denys. It has a garden and a childrens room (known to locals as The Myra Hindley suite...) Leave when the other Saints fan do and you should be in time for the match.
  4. Some on The News forum have had the right reaction: "haha...just proves what a joke we have become! We don't even know what terms we've signed players up on! Priceless!"
  5. Dave Juson, one of the Hagiography authors has done some articles on CM, and i think some have appeared in Saints programmes. IIRC so has a guy who has lived in Brazil called Aidan Hamilton but not sure where published.

Jeez, 21k in the Italian Serie A is not p p either!!
  7. So now it's come on Oldham...
  8. team goal or individual skill?
  9. Please don't imply it was me! [indignant]
  10. Tell us when he says "we don't want to concede another"...
  11. I won't if you promise not to. Still, perhaps conceding early is the kick up the pants they need.
  12. Well, at least that will wake them up. Any comments from the radio listeners??
  13. Oooh, yes please. Or anywhere in Piemonte. I'd be able to jump in the car and go and support. My women's team sometimes has training/pre-season training up in the mountains and being at 4500' is really good for the lungs and stamina training!
  14. Still laughing here! Could only happen at Nottarf Krap.
  15. LOL at the photo on the BBC home page of a Pimply fan wearing a t-shirt relegation party 2010. "Going down with pride" Err... why??
  16. I'm going skiing, but heading quite high as it's end of season. Fresh snow forecast for Sunday though!
  17. I was out last night and when I got home too relaxed to turn on the laptop and find out the score. I'd had a bad feeling about this game and was naturally disappointed that we didn't win, but have been reluctant to come on SWF due to all the wrist-slashers. Finally just now I've come on and rushed to the 'back from the game thread' as I value the different insights of the people who went and how their opinions differ and/or are similar. What do I find? A thread dominated by the usual predictable crap. It's not a question of having "opinions"; it's their sheer, utter predictability and the way they are expressed. Exactly why I was reluctant to come and take a peek and why I avoided the main reaction thread. I'm now going there to see if there is any more enlightement to be had. Thanks guys for the actual reports. It seems lack of width always does for us, any ideas why we play so narrow? We had the pace of Antonio from the off, did we exploit it at all?
  18. Hmm, self abuse in public is probably easier for us.:-) In twos it would be possible in the local ski lift which are small enclosed cabins. Not been done by myself, you understand, as I'm such a soppy romantic. Mind you, a good day on the slopes does get the ol' endorphins going, so perhaps I'd better not say never, ever for the future.;-)
  19. What about pensioners who like a drink? Definitely need coaches with loos if you can get them! And what have you got against students? One thing I learnt at Soton U was how to hold my drink (I graduated in 1976... it was a thirsty summer...), which is more than I can say for some a holes I've seen at football. I just get mellow but let's face it, it does bring out the worst in some. Still, good idea as long as you stop at pubs with decent beer. Can you organise one from Geneva or Turin?? On the hassle front, it's a pain, isn't it, from my limited experience. I presume that everybody finally paid on the day? If not don't let them on the coach.
  20. Did you really have to put those names together in the same sentence. Derty, derty, derty!;-)
  21. Jaidi an exception, I'd say, but I'm sure the others on the list recognise it themselves. Perry's genuine big smile at getting on at Wembley had a wry tinge to it. He knows his legs aren't up to it anymore, even if the brain is. I think Wooton's celebration was also acknowledgement of the situation. Can't remember him doing anything in the game but he didn't make any mistakes I noted, so he did what was required of him. But we now expect more, don't we?
  22. Watching on an internet stream brought a lump to my throat as the camera panned round the massed red and white. I don't remember hearing OWTSGMI but the COYR came through well: probably easier to sing with a bad acoustic. Hopefully next time at Wembley I'll come on over and see for myself!
  23. After the staggering crowd at Wembley, what do people reckon on for the next home game? I was at the testimonial game in 1976 after our last Wembley win and it was an amazing atmosphere. I recommend all who can to go to the Orient game!
  24. That's a point, isn't it. If those bonus payments for winning the cup are still in place perhaps we want Pimpley to win just so the debt gets to over ... oh, I forget the latest figure - but whatever record it is!
  25. Nobody had a bad game, did they? Mills I thought has really grown up now. We were missing Morgan, Puncheon, and I can't remember, but we did the business. Might be a right tart and go out for an apperitivo in my saints shirt!
