Now that, at least, made me laugh. I didn't go back to read the original thread, but the signing of juniorP seems deeply suspicious and I accept all conspiracy theories in this particular case.
-
Another signing needed to really turn us around?

True, I always enjoyed Navyred's contributions: never quite read enough here to understand why he quit the forum, even if I got the general idea.. Mind you, he never did explain why we always recruited dwarves! -
Now there's an incentive!!

Can anyone see Cortese putting up with this much longer ?

Good summary Dubai, and I've pointed out in another thread that I didn't come on here after Tuesday as although the result was depressing I didn't want to hear the all-too- predictable moans couched in over-the-top rhetorical language. If some posters were barristers they'd continually be pulled up for asking leading questions! Specific criticisms are fine but there are far too many blanket ones made. I'm optimistic from some of the things I hear: the way AP coaches, what he's asking of the players in terms of the "nuts and bolts", the coaching team, Lambert's increased fitness, the players recruited, the fact that he is obviously trying to get others out on loan (eg Taffazoli). The fact that no-one will take Pulis is hardly his fault!! -
C'mon guys, more comment on the football, not the comments. Having said that I didn't come on here after Tuesday's result as I could just imagine all the wallowing in misery. I noticed somewhere that they've been working on Lambert's fitness which is going to give him even more of an edge. I'm looking forward to seeing him on my Christmas visit and hope to see my first win in 3 years!

Morgan S is patently a better player than Wooton, and from seeing him at Huddersfield and SMS on my last trip home not a bad tackler, but he's by no means a defensive midfielder. Today's formation certainly seems to be suiting the opponents. Robustness and a bit of pace seems all that is needed to counteract some teams in this division.

You uncouth lot...I'm drinking Marston's Pedigree. Mind you, I think my relaxed feeling has more to do with 4-1 up than the beer....
-
Would another be too much to ask for? Goal I meant
-
Hah, it was me opening a bottle of Pedigree that did it... I couldn't wait for FT.
-
PS Arizona, when are you going to post episode 2 of your avatar?
-
or some Prosecco, or my sparkling stuff... nah, bottle always in the ready ammunition locker... it's not quite Champagne but it's good Championship level.. What's "work" by the way?
-
I'm being good here in sunny Italy as it's a bit early for me yet. Night go down to the cellar to get some Pedigree, or even some Adnams if we score more and actually win...
-
That should boost beer sales at the interval, let alone what DubaiPhil must be getting through.:-)
-
Timed at 43 minutes... I like it this way round, when _we_ score....
-
Nice to spread the goals around - more for Gillingham to worry about...

from the OS "Second year Academy scholar Garyn Preen makes the bench. The Welsh winger, who turns 18 later this month, takes the number 36 shirt."

For a moment there I thought Pullis.. I'm tired..

In today's Guardian: http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/oct/03/portsmouth-cash-crisis-peter-storrie "The players remain unpaid and are understood to have been offered minimal information by the club."

I don't want any club to go out of business whatever some of their fans are like, but I reserve the right to chuckle and have even been LOL reading these threads: I really must get back to tidying the office and preparing for a private lesson this morning.. but this thread has been so funny. I might send the odd email to Pompey supporting friends; got enough from them in the past about Saints' situation!
-
Cheers Mush! You're right: I've taught UAE cadets and they certainly don't make a thing of being from wealthy families (and in this context they probably aren't), but my goodness.... Heh, heh

DubaiPhil.. as I don't hang around the pubs in Soton, as you will see by my address, and as I'm sooo very discreet.. I'd love it if you could PM me an occasional juicy bit from Dubai about Bin Trump et al! [or get me a lucrative English teaching job, for that matter, I'm not fussy!:-)]

ps: guess who I thought about when I saw this video about property in Dubai... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/8249313.stm

I think you are right, but Saints are still hard work though. Let's hope this game is a wake up call, but that the attitude at the end of the game can carry forward.
