I'm really looking forward to this now, will be my first proper event. Did my final long run before next Sunday today, up to Manchester tomorrow so I doubt I would've got round to it on Sunday after that drive back. I ran 10m in 1:28:20, it's quite a hilly route and I was taking it steady so pretty happy with my progress. Hoping to go under 1:20 next weekend. Also hoping to drag a couple of people down there with my to hold onto my stuff during the race. They say you can use the lockers at the pyramids but that seems like a bit of hassle.

I do feel for him. Had a blinder last season but hasn't had much of a chance since Wanyama came in. I'd like to see him more involved in those games at home when we're struggling to break teams down. He's solid at the back and gets us moving so much quicker than Wanyama, and has got a much better eye for a pass.

We could've easily been a couple down before we got going yesterday, and would've been against a better team. Yes we played some nice stuff at times, better than we've seen in a long time, but it was only Poland at home who have been poor, and they still caused us massive problems at times. He'll contrinue to pick players who are in the top 4 reserves over those who are bang in form for their clubs. Wouldn't surprise me to still see a past it Gerrard and 48 year old Lampard starting games in Brazil, and getting completely overrun. Can't see us being a serious contender in Brazil, or anything close.

This. Best possible outcome IMO is that MP playing hardball and demanding more, Gaston goes about things the right way and forces his way into his plans. Not sure how likely that is though. His decision making needs a lot of work IMO, he's good enough to play the world class pass at times but his success rate is so so poor, needs to know when to do it and when just to play it simple. That's been my biggest frustration with him. Then there's getting him fit and strong enough to be involved in the high press and defensive duties.

They're just following suit and jumping on the bandwagon, just as they all did when he started doing well at Spurs and saying he was an obvious choice for a future England manager. I prefer these stories.

Looking forward to the GSR now, although it's importance has been dwarfed by getting a ballot place in the 2014 London marathon. Training has been going well and I'm running 20-25 miles a week. Hoping to go sub 80 mins in the Great South, then the real training program starts.

I didn't renew this season either. Catch 22 - we wanted success but to get all that TV money, the EPL has to move loads of games for TV. I'm massively missing it though, have only been to Sunderland at home and Norwich away so haven't really had anything to get excited over yet!
