They were next to bottom when he left. This is great news. Saints have continually improved this season but we have sacked him and replaced him with a sacked manager whose team have improved measurably after he has left. I am so happy.

I would be amazed if he did and amazed if he will be there on Monday. There is one thing behaving the way he does but really impressive leaders face up to their critics and earn respect by doing just that. I don't get the impression this bloke has any balls.

I am the only Saints fan at work and all the football fans (Villa being the main team) were very complimentary about us getting a point and certainly saw it as a positive rather than disaster. And of course I am still basking in our glorious win at Villa Park at the weekend.

A great result. Draws against Arsenal and now Chelsea show we have grown into the season. Put that with the professional win on Saturday and suddenly it's looking a lot better. Twelve games, two defeats and eighteen points. It is what dreams are made of.

To be fair most of the team have impressed me how they have stepped up to the mark and improved as the season has progressed. I am going for Fonte as he was my main "not up to the job" at the beginning of the season but he has proved me wrong.
